They see something that white, Western untermenschen have built and just automatically assume that it's easy to do. Basically if a white man can do it how hard can it be? Chinese are some of the most racist people on Earth.

  44. I have thought that for some time. Everything that the CCP has done to "help" the economy either has had no effect or a negative effect and made it worse. Surely they can find a basic Economics 101 textbook somewhere in China if they really wanted to make it better. I think Xi is an old-time Maoist and wants China to go back to the 1950s: a nation of uneducated, easily controllable good little comrades who do what they are told or else. China opened up in the 1980s and now it is closing back down again. North Korea writ large.

  46. It's really just a repackaged pagan winter solstice festival. It celebrates that the days would now be getting longer and Spring was coming. It got co-opted by Emperor Constantine of the Roman Empire into a "Christian" holiday. Since it is pagan you would think the CCP would be all for it.
