Mustn't be too hasty. Does anyone know how an EV sitting for 6 months affects the battery? Imagine if one of those cars starts a fire. The whole port will go up. Maybe the EU will act then. Maybe.

I was able to retire at 45 because I stayed single and I never really made that much but I was thrifty, something you usually can't do with a wife. A man's needs are few, a woman's are bottomless.

  22. That's what I was thinking too. Also by cutting hours and not hiring more workers to work those cut hours means they're shutting down because there's fewer man-hours worked. Also some people will quit further closing things down.

  23. When any market is artificially propped up reality eventually asserts itself and there is what Economists call a correction but which the common people call a crash. China has overbuilt housing and manufacturing capacity aided by outside investment and government subsidies. Now that over building is being corrected by the market. They built too much, there's no one buying it, so prices are crashing. As you say an economy built on debt always crashes because lenders don't have enough money to lend forever and eventually the money has to be paid back. When the lending runs out it all crashes. China has a lot further to fall.

But in a big group like a nation there's a big problem when you start demanding productive members turning their share over to strangers. Communism always involves force to make this happen. That fact alone makes it undesirable.

  50. Airlines are competing against high-speed trains. It seems that airfare is higher than train fare and so people went by train instead because they either have little money or they are saving as much money as they can. They even appear to have taken the low-speed "green trains" since they were cheaper. I have seen video of people in those green trains packed in like sardines. People in China are scared. They can feel winter coming and they are hunkering down to try and survive it.
