  1. Airlines are competing against high-speed trains. It seems that airfare is higher than train fare and so people went by train instead because they either have little money or they are saving as much money as they can. They even appear to have taken the low-speed "green trains" since they were cheaper. I have seen video of people in those green trains packed in like sardines. People in China are scared. They can feel winter coming and they are hunkering down to try and survive it.

  2. People keep wondering why the Chinese people don't revolt. If they get hungry I think that'll be the last straw and they will. The CCP better be ordering shiploads of grain on the world market right now. The price is only going to go up and I fear there will be a point where it's not available at any price. All the catastrophes around the world and Ukraine's wheat being basically offline I think it's going to get real serious this year.

  3. One China expert said that he calculated that the real youth unemployment rate is 46.5%, not 21% as the CCP stated. Generally speaking, an "official" CCP statistic is just a lie with numbers in it. For example, the 4 main contributors to GDP in China are 1) real estate, 2) consumer spending, 3) exports, and 4) foreign investment. They are all down yet the CCP says there is 5% GDP growth. Add four negatives and get a positive = mathematics with Chinese characteristics.

  6. I follow the news pretty closely and I don't see much of this around the Western world. Every one of the people killed in this video died for money, their lives were sold. Life sure is cheap in Asia.

  14. You assume that Americans will buy the products at much higher prices, but most of the Chinese made products Americans buy are cheap plastic crap from the Dollar Store and Temu. When the price goes up people will just not buy it since they don't need it anyway.

  48. The Soviet Union couldn't beat them either. I read somewhere that Afghanistan had never been beaten in its 5000 year history. Tough hombres. Also, what good is a million man army against the US 6,000 miles away? Is the PLA getting swimming lessons in their training? I don't think that they can successfully invade Taiwan 100 miles away, much less the US.

  50. In China isn't famine kind of Standard Operating Procedure? If I was running that country my job #1 would be to concentrate on agriculture and get a country that could at least feed itself. China has to import a lot of food each year. In Hitler's Mein Kampf his statement was something like "any nation that cannot feed itself will never be a great power". That's why he wanted Ukraine: it was a huge wheat area and if he could make it part of Germany then Germany could fully feed itself and then be on the road to being a world power. Perhaps Xi should put food first and save the skyscrapers and high-speed trains for later. They're hard to enjoy when you're starving. Vanity, vanity. All is vanity!
