  1. In China isn't famine kind of Standard Operating Procedure? If I was running that country my job #1 would be to concentrate on agriculture and get a country that could at least feed itself. China has to import a lot of food each year. In Hitler's Mein Kampf his statement was something like "any nation that cannot feed itself will never be a great power". That's why he wanted Ukraine: it was a huge wheat area and if he could make it part of Germany then Germany could fully feed itself and then be on the road to being a world power. Perhaps Xi should put food first and save the skyscrapers and high-speed trains for later. They're hard to enjoy when you're starving. Vanity, vanity. All is vanity!
