Mark Gable . Your assertion was "We have already left the Eu on March 29th by law." You were wrong. Tilbrook's challenge was rejected by law. And the referendum really wasn't a good example of democracy by the way. Vote Leave fined twice for breaking electoral rules. Facebook fined $5 billion! for allowing Cambridge Analytica to use their platform to influence elections. None of which is remotely democratic.
3
Perhaps we now see why certain parties are so keen to destroy the EU. Perhaps the bus slogan should have been.. :Why have human rights when you can just be shat on : Or :Why live in a liberal democracy when you can just be dictated to: Take back control? Really?
3
Boris is in a fix. A compromise would upset the Brexit hardcore but a no deal will come with hard consequences. Don't expect common sense though. Everything is mad these days.
3
And yet the MAGA muffins lap it up. Weird people.
3
I see the crazies are howling tonight. Have hard Brexiters got a form of intellectual rabies?
3
@Noel-ji8nm What lies?
3
@willhall4037 You've already used this line. And the answer is the same. The architects of Brexit did not make a door. Perhaps they should have put a bit more thought into it.
3
Crikey mate. He's just come out of the shadows to attack Boris and his crew of c***s.
3
@unvaxxedirishpureblood6102 . It's about escalation. The moment protestors start getting shot the guys with guns will start shooting back. It doesn't take that much to understand. And Trump has threatened to deploy the army. Hence, invading his own country. He is that nuts though.
3
@annoyingbstard9407 . No. I'm saying that a government minister picks up a phone and tells the appropriate civil servant to purchase as much PPE as they can get. Logical strategy in the face of a pandemic really. So why the delay? Perhaps you should change your moniker to obtuse B'stard.
3
The sooner we bury this Brexit farce the better. Fanatics like you seem to have lost the capacity for objective thought and so are prone to believe anything. Many don't even question why the all powerful globalists/NWO/Rothschilds/Deep state/ Nanny state/reptilian aliens could be so easily thwarted by a referendum. Sheesh! Exercise a few brain cells.
3
It would have been more apt if he had done it with a Dover R sole.
3
Odd how you chose to mention the American election. I wonder why.
3
@gladifly Do you really think that companies like Ford would not have preferred to reinvest in their existing plants? Seriously? How much is all this costing them to relocate? The fact is that coming out of the single market comes at a price. As was detailed by Patrick Minford to the parliamentary select committee. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgwVEpbb3do
3
@gladifly They are according to Mr Minford (Mogg's man) he predicted the demise of our car industry three years ago. No one listened though and Brexit zealots just shouted "Fake news." How come so many BaaRexiters worship Trump. Is he the messiah of bullshit or something?
3
@cha2117 . Ridiculous. The government were only recently congratulating themselves on low employment. Trade with the EU has brought thousands of jobs to the UK. Thatcher convinced Nissan to open up here so they could export directly into the Europe. There is absolutely no economic argument for Brexit. None.
3
Oh, perhaps you just prefer not to see. Offices raided. More witnesses coming forward. Further revelations to come. The truth is growing louder by the hour.
3
Homophobia is a bit uncool though. And do remember men like Alan Turing, who contributed a great deal to the defeat of Nazi Germany.
3
Nah. A no-deal is dumb. We'd be advancing into unknown territory with no way back to safe ground. If it goes wrong we're stuffed. The common sense thing to do is stop and assess the situation clearly. To press on in hope alone is foolhardy.
3
What's that Skippy? The Blue Meanie king has been found out and run away. Strewth!
3
Someone should give Humpty Trumpty a push.
3
You may enjoy this. I did. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gq_CO91RQpo
3
You didn't vote "No-Deal" either. It wasn't an option.
3
BaaaaRexit.
3
I agree mate. Murdoch has been seeding public opinion for years, sneaking it in amongst the tits and trivia. This is far more insidious though, and is blatantly corrupting the democratic process. I'm just surprised that it came to light.
3
123 456 . The safest bet would be a 200 year extension. Probably be a global union by then. Think of it. No war. No conflict. No starvation. Just a wonderful socialist paradise with robots doing all the hard and boring stuff.
3
Nice.
3
@MyName-cw4yr Calling the protests pro Hamas does not make them so. There are likely to be some people on the marches who have extreme views on Israel, but the vast majority are just people who want to stop the brutality. And that includes Jews, Christians, and atheists.
3
@jamesrosejr33 . It is James. And the blinkered masses are still ignorant of where this is going. I'm just hoping that enough sane and moral MPs do the right thing when the time comes.
3
You should see the crazy comments on another page. It's a bit like when Trump said he could shoot someone and still get elected. Only this time it's Boris bumbling from one embarrassment to another and the devoted BaaRexiters crying "Fake news" or "Left bias" or whatever. Are we living in some Orwell inspired alternative universe where truth is lies and morality irrelevant?
3
What about Cameron? He just buggered off. What about Anthony Eden? Chamberlain backed down to Hitler. To be fair May inherited the situation and is trying to protect the economy and jobs whilst still delivering a form of Brexit. There isn't an easy option.
3
@Steveness stiffler. In extreme cases with new highly expensive drugs. But the alternative to the NHS is to be like America and have sod all. If you want to know the value of the NHS check out infant mortality rates in the 30s and 40s. Will Brexit take us back to that? How many people would have voted Leave if they put that on the side of a bus. And what happened to the £350 million?
3
Good point. I hadn't thought of it like that.
3
This is lying as the norm, a doctrine of deceit. Big Boris trying to impose a fabricated reality. But anyone with a brain can see through it.
3
Has anyone lied as much as Johnson? And under oath.
3
@onejohn2.26. Bet your house on it. And buy a tent.
3
@davidlowe2311 . Leavers have spoken. The "People" are still divided. Leavers are a minority in reality. And you can't steamroller the rest of us into chaos.
3
@albfromeng I'm an OAP, so I can remember quite a few governments. And none of them were as bad as this lot. I am admittedly to the left, but I actually hoped that Sunak would be a return to reasoned politics. He should have ditched the Rwanda nonsense, dealt with the ERG headbangers, and sorted out the water companies. He could have retaken the centre ground. Too late now. And they are finished.
3
Do electric cars run over android sheep.
3
The Health Protection regulations 2021 set out the rules we had to follow, but then gave a number of exceptions to the rules. And political campaigning was one of the exceptions. So Starmer and his team did not break the rules. Simples.
3
Hmm, thanks Red. Not with you 100% but I have noticed an odd pattern amongst these comments. A simmering fascistic tone that despises compassion and reasoned thought. Perhaps they've been poisoned or brainwashed in some way. Who knows?
3
@robertadams1054 Less sewage for a start.
3
@johnathanpearson3203 . I Googled it. Had a rough idea of what to look for though. Odd how you trust the word of a single IRA guy who wasn't even considered that credible. Don't you think that the intelligence services would have jumped on this if there were any truth in it. And the fact is that the IRA don't bomb us now. Gerry Adams said that Corbyn was "fundamental" in the peace process. Isn't that worth something? Or would you rather just keep spinning the hate? Are the left that unpalatable to you.
3
@johnathanpearson3203 . Only in your populist doublethink mind. You folks are peculiar.
3
@johnathanpearson3203 , You can believe this nonsense if you want but it's simply not worthy of serious consideration. If there was any substance to these allegations the Conservative party would have gone at Corbyn with everything they had. The intelligence services would have turned over every shred of information. But Corbyn is still there, and getting stronger by the day. Which has got the righties seriously bothered. Do you hope to turn the tide with this flimsy hearsay? All you have shown is how desperate you are.
3
@ianbuchan1793 . Not insulin or many other medicines. This is just a fact. At the very least the government has to make mini deals to manage the situation.
3
But was it a free and fair election?
3
You're just ranting Gaz, and you misquoted Orwell (Blair) by the way. He said that "Socialists don't really care about the poor, they just hate the rich." Bringing up Orwell is interesting though, especially as we now live in an age of "Doublethink", where TRUTH = FAKE and COLLUSION = NOTHING TO SEE HERE. The truth is getting louder by the hour and even many Republicans now see Trump as a liability. Did you read General McCaffrey's statement? It's going to be so funny to the rest of us when this shambolic and corrupt administration eventually sinks into the pit of shame.
3
@belkentens The Tories closed down the legal channels for asylum seekers. So now they just risk the Channel.
3
@stephenhaw8048 How?
