  7. You are right about the Democrats being the only major party that believes in democracy, so have you considered why the Democrats have had so much trouble winning national elections? In the New Deal Era, Democrats dominated the Congress and the Presidency. Republicans had to nominate Eisenhower to get back in the game. The Democratic Party squandered its advantage by embracing cockamamie policies that are not supported by mainstream people across the United States. Democrats just don’t know how to consolidate their power in the center. A current example: The person who attacked Mr. Pelosi is facing federal charges as well as state charges, and he happens to be an illegal alien (he is Canadian), so the feds have placed a hold on him. They want him turned over for federal prosecution and ultimate deportation. The San Francisco District Attorney, Jenkins, made a public statement that she will not turn DePape over to the feds because SF is a “sanctuary city”! What? Has she lost her mind? For one thing, she probably won’t be DA by the time California gets through with DePape. She could have just kept her foolish mouth shut about it. But I have better advice for the Democratic Party: abandon the entire concept of “sanctuary cities.” I, a person who has voted almost entirely Democratic for half a century, want all law enforcement agencies to cooperate with other law enforcement agencies, including the Immigration authorities. Democrats are struggling to maintain control of Congress now because they cling to cockamamie policies like “sanctuary cities.” There are many others, but I won’t belabor the point.
