@John5.56 definately the latter because stupid people will believe anything theyre told of they say theyre "experts" said it was true and in reality they want all guns/weapons "banned" so they can control everything everyone does and yhey fant do that if youre just as well armed and willing to use those weapons to stop their tyranny so they try to decieve everyone into giving them up and those who dont they threaten jailtime or death and then when they know for sure who wont give them up they start just killing them and now its alot easier for them to do that because we've been giving up so many of our rights as they "pass" more "laws" against the second amendment and we just keep caving to them because of the fear of that happening thats how they work they decieve and make you fear them to make you do what they want take that away from them and they have no power over us but it will only happen if we fight physically like we should and like the whole point of the second amendment is again like i said before

@jeremyjohnson8882 its to make the stupid people fear it and want it "banned" the smart people know better and will fight physically to keep all their rights but no ones been doing it for a century now if not more when the whole point of the second amendment is to foght physically against their so called "laws" that would be tyrannical like taking our weapons or freedom of soeech etc rhat are in the constitution and are all there to limit the power of the government but again like i said it does work unless we use the second amendment as intended to keep them in check by physically fighting it

@lancehorrocks1305 background checks dont stop people from killing people or gettigg weapons to do it with that last part you said does though if people had all the guns/weapons the military has abd were willing to use them there would be little to no crime cause itd either make the bad guys think twice or wish they had either way is better than being disarmed and solely relying on the police to protect you when they cant or wont get there in time to do something about it

@SpeeDemon2005 its not even just no evidence its cause they dont understand or dont care about the whole poiny of the second amendment and thats to fight tyrannical "laws" that would take our rights like our weapons and to be able to protect ourselves from whatever threats might come with whatever weapons we please and without any kind of limit on how we can own them or what kind of ammo etc like that or not having to have licenses for certain ones or taxes for certain ones to own them etc you get my point they cant be limited in any way other than like the actual stuff that should be illegal like if you stole it or if you committed a crime thats actually bad enough to make it to where you shouldnt be able to own it like murder or rape or assault etc

@thiccchungo1041 yeah and they also werent armored at all like today though today a blunderbuss would be useless wven soft body armor today would stop it cold and the wearer would barely notice they were hit so theres really no arguing that a musket or any of that older tech like that would stand any chance today today we should be able to have all of what the military has cause yhe second amendment was intentionally worded "arms" (which just means weapons not just certain ones)

@jj3449 they also had machineguns whether they were used or not isnt the point the point is they had that technology way back then just look up flintlock machinegun on forgotten weapons on youtube its crazy it looks like a minigun but without the motor and all that to make the barrels spin cause its a flintlock action its not what youd think of as a machinegun today but they had them even back then when it was written so that whole "they only had muskets" or "they couldntve imagined tech advancing past that" etc that they try to say doesnt hold weight

@Grumpy Old Farts Riding Club not really usually when people say that they mean what they choose to use modern day not what they used to use and if you go by that definition we wouldnt have anything cause even knives are used in war or have been and even if they are it doesnt matter or shouldnt matter cause the second amendment says we should have any weapon we please without any limitations but it only works if we actually use it as intended to fight physically against their bullcrap "laws"

@patroscher6240 dude it has nothing to do with interpetations and yes actually it does mean individuals and those individuals make up the militia if you understand anything about it at all then understand the last part that says what right its protecting the first part just says why its protecting it and the second says what right its protecting and for who and thats "the people" which is everyone outside the corrupt government who would fight the the tyranny physically therefore the militia also its not just guns its all weapons cause it says "arms" so we'd have all of what they have if we go by it and fight like we should to keep those rights and even now we definately could if we all came together to do it yes itd be much harder since we gave into what they said for so long but its still possible not all wars are won by superior tech alone look at ww2 as a good example with germany
