I've been driving for 15 years and started using winter tires 7 years ago when the car I bought came with an extra set of winter tires with rims. All I can say is wow what a difference. I will always use winter tires once the mercury drops as my car transforms into a mountain goat. They don't even need to be expensive winter tires, even the cheap ones do an amazing job.

Love the styling of this new Mazda. Premium looking, great powertrain and I like these lower SUVs as they still look almost as sleek as a car but the entry/exit is easier especially with bulky winter coats on. Thinking how far Mazda has come from the tin cans like the Protege (we had one but it rusted away) to premium looking and feeling vehicles it's really good progress.

The styling of the previous generation Civic grew on me eventually and looked really good in the upper trims. This one blew me away and could easily pass for something European. I also like how Hondas feel really solid (doors close nicely) and they feel stable at higher speeds but they won't go overboard on the price if you aim for the mid level trims.

This does a better all around job than the Toyota CHR. It's quieter, handles better, has a far better powertrain and the standard warranty coverage is longer too. Both have quirky love/hate styling but for me the driving experience matters more than that and that's where the Kona is the better vehicle.

Great review as always. I actually like the seat controls being on the door. It's been a Benz thing for a long time.

The GTS variant of any Porsche are always my favorite. From the subtle styling enhancements, to the suspension tweaks and the motor choice it's just a "for sure" thing.

Great review as always. I think I would spring for the regular 4 cylinder motor that's been proven. These newer motors are getting a little too tech laden just to see marginal improvements in fuel economy although I understand why manufacturers do it as they need to achieve a fleet wide target of less fuel/emissions. Even though turbo motors push out great power I think NA motors will actually become the desired motor because of their simplicity.

This is definitely an exciting time to be a truck owner... If you got the coin for it.

I've given up on Honda. They started slipping a decade ago (and ever before that in some aspects) with transmissions issues and then came the other issues like PCV valves failing which lead to oil consumption and now this BS oil dilution issue. Even small amounts of gas in the oil dramatically reduces the lubricating qualities of that oil (synthetic or not) so I doubt we will see these CRVs doing 300k miles like the previous versions. Toyota Rav 4 is hands down the better vehicle and with the hybrid powertrain it has some good giddy up too. If you want a more premium feel then check out the Mazda CX 5.

Reviewing vehicles as a couple is a brilliant idea. Andrea is knowledgeable and brings a lot of great input to the review.

We got a Kicks SV for my Mom in 2018 and it's a great commuter vehicle. Easy in and out, every maintenance service bill at the dealership works out to only around $70 for oil/filter change with tire rotation and the 34 MPG is nice. A taller person can fit inside and the features though basic work as they are supposed to. If you accelerate a little harder than normal the CVT switches over to simulate shifts and operates far better than the CVTs of old and it does highway speeds just fine. Just remember that in Asia and South America, their vehicles usually have like 80HP to 90HP so the fact we get 122HP is actually a premium over what's offered elsewhere. Great work Zack and Andrea.... Well mostly Andrea ;)

Personally if I had to go fuel efficient for now I'd stick with a plug in hybrid or standard hybrid. The charging network, the payment systems and the size of the charging network are the concerns I have. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if the price of hydro starts creeping up to offset the government rebates so they keep that steady stream of tax revenue coming in. Another thing would be the companies finding ways to safely recycle the batteries at EOL otherwise the whole environmentally friendly thing is for nothing. Great review as always Zack and Andrea!

The fact that the Ascent has more compact proportions is, in my opinion, it's biggest asset. It will do well in urban situations (condo parking garage) but can still do all the adventure stuff with it's ground clearance and AWD system.

Great styling on this SUV both inside and out. Infiniti has always done the ride/handling combo very well which is why it's beyond me they used a CVT especially when great off the shelf 8, 9 and 10 speed units are available. The new 10 speed in the Honda/Acura vehicle lineup is brilliant. CVTs have their place in basic sub-compact or compact vehicles like the Nissan Kicks, Qashqai, Ford EcoSport and Hyundai Venue but not in something trying to be premium.

Love the vehicle. I'm glad they went for a modern but not too overstyled look like many EVs have. It stands out enough but doesn't look outlandish and of course the performance is there to back things up. Great review.
8
Because they love to nickel and dime people. The fanboys will say "Oh well you get to customize it the way you want" but what that really translates into is "Ahhh crap this car that started at $45k is now going to be $58k".

I like the interior but the exterior while functional looks pretty much like a fancy Honda Civic. I'm noticing that final production cars look nothing like the concept. Some variations I understand but why can MB just incorporate a S Class look but with an EV powertrain? Porsche makes their Taycan look like a normal car but has all the EV stuff underneath.
7
Looks horrid. Looks like a bloated GLC. The previous ML/GLE differentiated from the GLK/GLC and had great styling and drove well. On top of that there is no more diesel V6. Going to spend $70k on a 4 banger makes no sense. I'm sure this new GLE will drive very nice but looks like the BMW X5 and Audi Q7 will be the more sensible purchase.
7
The interior, space and ride/handling are great in the Murano. I can't, however, get over the CVT transmission. Just put a 6 or 7 speed auto in there and all will be well. We have a 2009 Nissan Sentra and the CVT sucks. It hasn't given problems but the characteristics of it is just weird. Only benefit is that it revs nice and low at highway speeds which means good fuel economy.
7
These are great. Spacious and I actually like the interior because it's simple and functional. Also, that material even though it's on the cheaper side will clean up easily which is a good thing because family SUVs mean kids running in and out with their messy shoes and gritty little fingers.

Ehh most will be leased and will be a total bargain in 3 years when they come off lease and are sold as CPOs. You get as good a warranty as if it were new and the price will be a little more than half of what it cost new. Right now you can pick up a good clean 2016 340i F30 body style for around $30k CAD and if you forego the warranty then you have engine tuning and suspension mods galore!

GM really nails it with when it comes to big body SUVs and V8 powered vehicles like the Camaro and Corvette. Great review Zack and Andrea!
5
I think it will be an absolute hit. Toyota is universally known, has a dealership just about everywhere, crossovers are easy to enter/exit and it's efficient.
5
I'm impressed with the Santa Fe Hybrid but I'm even more impressed with Zack's and Andrea's breakdown of the vehicle's features and value. Good work as always!
5
The C6 Z06 and ZR1 are my favorite though I'd settle for a later model C6 Grand Sport with the LS3 motor and manual transmission.
5
Subscription services. I paid for the features on the car in full at time of purchase. I shouldn't have to subscribe to use things like remote start on a Toyota especially when the button is on the key fob and the module is in the car.
5
Get the leather ceramic coating. Clean your seats thoroughly then apply the coating. It'll be super easy to clean and resists a lot of stains.
4
I'd still spring for the Mazda CX5 but there's no denying that Kia and Hyundai are fearless when it comes to reinventing and innovating their designs. They go bold and they do give great value.
4
Turbocharged, supercharged and a mild hybrid. I'd be taking advantage of buying Volvo's 10 year warranty because to fix anything there would be insane.
4
Plus they all upload to TikTok every day.
4
You don't need AWD for good snow performance. You need winter tires whether it's 2WD or AWD. Given the lower center of gravity of EVs in general you'll get excellent snow performance with winters on. Great combo.
4
Great review. I know how much of a fan Zack is of Porsches so I'm sure he gets excited when he gets the memo he will be reviewing one. The couples review setup here is great.
4
Wagons are my favorite. I would personally spring for a Mercedes E Class wagon but this BMW is great too because it's a manual. What a rare combo.
4
Weirdly enough I've always liked the GTS variants of any Porsche over the Turbo model even though that's a higher spec vehicle. Power is nice but I prefer a vehicle with a manageable amount of power but quick handling. Great work as usual on the review!
4
@xorbitman What are you blabbering about? Quote where I spoke about a Mazda... If you're that blind you shouldn't be driving.
4
The Kicks is a good all around well priced vehicle. Easy in and out, space for 4 adults, decent size cargo area once you remove the privacy shelf and cheap to maintain.
4
These aren't the issue. You think those EVs with their battery material are environmentally friendly? Think again. Also, go sound off on China and India as they are contributing to the majority of the world's pollution problems. Everybody always loves the easy targets.
4
I don't get these manufacturers unless it's the stupid millennials requesting this type of vehicle. I love the styling and size of these SUVs but they shove the equivalent of a bicycle motor in it and call it sporty. This needs the turbo motor from the Nismo Juke at the least and a REGULAR 6 or 7 speed auto transmission. The CVT is horrid and feels like a slipping transmission.
3
The 5 passenger model makes more sense with this GLB. The only practical 7 passenger SUV out there that makes sense is the Chevrolet Suburban. Too many customers are worried about 7 seats yet fail to consider cargo space and legroom.
3
Car reviews are not just about presenting numbers. Talking about the feel, practicality, driving characteristics and comfort is something I look forward to on car reviews. We're at a point in the automotive world where 0-60 times or Nurburgring times don't matter anymore. Also, host(s) that bounce off of each other's thoughts and ideas make for an interesting video and Zack and Andrea have that chemistry and it makes for a fun informative video for the viewers.
3
I didn't know the towing capacity was that good. I really enjoyed driving a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee I had as a rental so a well equipped Durango with the longer wheel base might be a real treat.
3
Ummmm bigger vehicles have existed and the biggest trucks like 18 wheelers and dump trucks have none of the camera tech a car has. Where have you been living in the past, I don't know, 6 decades?
3
Had the previous gen RDX with the V6. Nothing really stood out on that vehicle but it transported everyone comfortably and in 84k of driving it only needed regular maintenance and a set of pads/rotors in the front so it did it's job where it counted the most. This newer one seems to bring back the fun factor.
3
We love our Nissan Kicks (not quite the SUV category) as it sips fuel and is cheap to maintain. Yes, the vehicle is a bit cheap feeling and built to a cost but has what we need and like (heated seats, AC, bluetooth and power windows) plus it has the safety features of a modern vehicle.
3
Great review as always. We are definitely hitting a bit of a final hurrah for big V8 motors.
3
Haha the seat heater gag will never get old.
3
Yeah the CVT is a bit of a weak spot for many customers. Funny enough we have a 2008 Sentra with 245,000kms and a 2018 Kicks and both transmissions have been great. The one key thing is changing the fluid every 50,000kms and each time I drained the fluid it was black and smelled burnt. Hopefully they stay running good as a replacement unit is $5,000.
3
Soon enough Andrea will be driving a manual Corvette around the track!
3
Great review and yes, it's one of the best all around vehicles out there. It took me a while to get on board with the whole crossover craze but I see the benefit in them especially where easy entry/exit is concerned and the way they're designed now they feel very car like on the road so no compromises.
3
Great review. There's so much to cover with the new Bronco because of all of the trims, packages and accessories but you guys got really into detail!
