  1. If all Renaults in future are going to have interiors that go in the same direction as Kadjar or the new Espace, then I think the future is bright for the company. The leap in design and quality is huge. We already know the reliability of Renaults has been improved massively since the horrible early 2000's, and now they're some of the most reliable cars in each of the segments.  With new Megane coming out next year, and new Laguna in the end of this year, I think Renault will again become a serious threat for VW.

As an engineer, I feel sorry for everyone who's gonna buy one, because once hydrogen powered cars come out electric cars will be forgotten.   6. I have sat in one and had a ride in it. It's horrible. The interior is just complete trash, both in terms of design, materials and quality. In fact, even the model S is trash. Full of badly put together pieces and bad quality materials. It squeaks and rattles in THE SHOWROOM, that's how badly put together it is. Not to mention how unreliable it is and how useless it is in the real world for anyone who does some real driving.

A4 feels more expensive and higher quality inside than the XF, let alone the full-of-shiny-black-plastic-and-everything-you-touch-squeaks-XE. Ridiculous.   14. Mazda's 2 liter skyactive petrol engine can't even be put in the same sentence with PSA 1.6 turbo's, VAG group 1.8 TFSI's, etc. Its a good engine, but not nearly as fun as a turbo petrol. Drove it in the CX5. And not as usable either. As for reliablity, we will see about that. Mazdas havent exactly topped the charts as far as reliablity goes in the last years...

  15. Interior is not cheap at all. In fact, plastic used on most surfaces inside is the same as the one in new Golf and new A3, and actually there's more soft touch plastic around the cabin than in the current Passat. Everything apart from the glovebox cover is covered by it. But it doesnt look good in this beige color. It looks much better in black, this beige makes it look kinda bland because all the aluminium and chrome details are almost invisible.

  17. @derbigpr500 Ford Mondeo and Mazda 6 drive best, but they have pretty cheap interiors, Honda Accord drives pretty good, has great interior, but it has very little room inside and it has no turbo-charged engines to compete with other. Opel Insignia is very comfortable and quiet, has great engines and drives pretty good, but interior quality is not up there with the best. Citroen C5 is BY FAR the most quiet, comfortable and pleasant to drive, with great interior, but its not very sporty.

  18. There are two types of people here, those who know what makes a great car, and those who dont. Those who dont think that 0-60 times is what is the most important thing. BMW does EVERY SINGLE THING very well, from comfort and luxury to brutal speed and fun. Subaru doesn't, not even remotely. It does speed pretty well, sucks at everything else. Its an uncomfortable, cheap feeling, unrefined, in many way undere ngieered car compared to the M135.

  24. @97I30T Volvo is pretty boring as well. The old S60 has a pleasant and warm interior, new ones is kinda cold looking. If you really want a car thats not boring and will make you happy every time you sit inside it, then you might wanna check out Italian and French cars (no, they dont break down anymore, they're among the most reliable cars now, especially french ones). Check out Citroen C5 for comfort...the most comfortable car on market cheaper than 100 000 euros. Or Alfa 159 / Peugeot 508.

  27. @Oggoel When I test drove the Civic, I drove it for about 15 kilometers, on a very well known road to me, , about 3 km's in city and about 12 km's outside, about half of those 12 km's is a road full of corners 3. /4. gear, 60-80 km/h, and half is opened road 100-110 km/h. I didnt push it hard, drove with traffic, shifting at about 4000 rpm, and car had over 9 l/100km at the end of test. Same route, Golf VI 1,4 TSI 122 hp, around 7 l. Astra 1.4t 140hp under 8l too. And both felt more powerful.

  28. That interior IS upmarket. Might not look like that on video, but when you see it in person, its really high quality, it feels better than current Passat. Rear suspension set up is good enough in entry level models. Why would you need a multilink in a 105hp diesel family car? Theres ABSOLUTELY NO benefit to it whatsoever in a car like this. Crappy base engines? I'm betting you never drove a 1.2 tsi with 105hp or the 1.6 tdi with 105 hp.

  31. Your preference has nothing to do with design quality. But ask any prof. designer who knows something and you will see what he will tell you. There's not much room for improvement on any of current Audi models if you want to keep the same amount of clarity and cleanliness, the same proportions, same feel and signature. All you can do is ruin what Audi has been building up for the past 15-20 years.

EU Ford employed most german engineers and cars were fully developed in Koln, Germany. And all models developed for european market were not sold anywhere else, and were completely different than US Fords.

  34. Wtf are you talking about? Golf has the least equipment here. It doesn't even have leather seats. A3 and A class have leather seats, sat nav, etc. 1 series even has an M-pack.

If you make a global model, then you need to involve all Ford divisions into development, not make EU Ford develop chassis, suspension, engines, gearboxes, body, safety gear, interior, and then let US division make a navigation system...and after that, US Ford will re-brand the car to Fusion and sell it as their own model. Like they did with Focus and Fiesta. They need to give something as well, not just take, otherwise its not ONE Ford.

  36. Mondeo? Its the shittiest and most plasticky feeling heap of junk in the class. I dont know what people see in that car. There's not a surface in that interior that doesn't feel cheap or doesn't squeak / feel like its going to fall off when you tug on it a bit.

  37. @derbigpr500 Dont think I hate GT500, no, I like it as a car that would be driven to a track on a back of a tow-truck, you'd drive it around, and then tow it home. It will also be very cheap because of its one-purpose nature. But that's why it's not fair comparing it to cars such as Jaguar XK-R, BMW M6, BMW M3, Audi RS5 or similar cars, to which "new breed" american muscle cars are often compared to just because they have similar performance, because those cars are in a different league.

  38. BMW is a far better car. It drives better and its more fun, yet its far more comfortable and refined. Not to mention the far better gearbox and an engine with smoothness, sound and flat torque and power bands which STI can only dream off. And then we have the interior, which is horribly cheap in the STI and very luxurious and high quality in the 1 series...refinement, noise proofing, etc...BMW is a better car, take it, or continue being a dumb clueless fanboy who can judge cars just by numbers.

  40. @atami210 And what most people dont understand (especially on youtube as it appears) is that cars arent judged by only one characteristic, and a lot of people do that. Some people say: "why the hell would you pay twice as much for an M3 if Mustang GT will do 0-60 just as fast?" To me, thats like saying: "why the hell would you pay $500 for a couple of bottles of champagne if you can get a six pack of beer for $10 and get equally drunk?". Its just a completely different and incomparable thing.

I drive a Ford Focus mkII myself, and I think its a great car in terms of handling, but saying that Renaults remind you of disabled people is just pure ignorance. Megane RS is a better car than Ford Focus RS, both in measurements and in subjective feel, and all car reviewers agree...even british ones which are traditinally biased towards fords like Evo magazine, fifth gear...

  47. Except the Leon is not as good as the Golf in a single aspect. Its interior is much cheaper, its not as well made, sound proofing is worse, comfort is worse, handling is worse, etc.

  49. @88Sauce Summer tires are made to be used in warm conditions, just as the winter tires are made to use in cold conditions. Using winter tires in summer is almost as bad as using summer tires during winter. Same goes for "all season" tires, which in most cases suck both in winter and summer. There are of course good all season tires, which can match the performance of decent winter or summer tires, but they cost more than buying 2 sets of very good tires, for winter AND summer.

  50. Actually that 1.5 dci engine from Renault is probably the best diesel engine of that size on the market today. People are just being ignorant idiots. You think Mercedes would put that engine in if it wasn't excellent? And it lost not because its a renault engine, it lost because it has 40hp less than Golf and 35hp less than BMW.
