  2. I bought a 2010 Yaris in 2016 with less than 100k miles for $4k it had bad paint, non working radio and a small leak in the roof. I fixed all except the paint and the mechanicals were in great condition. 80k miles later, it's still running well and if I spent money painting it, I could get $3k for in in today's market.

  5. I had a choice between a plain ole Yaris and a hybrid Prius C (basically same car) When I realized that replacing the battery on the Prius would be more expensive than getting a new engine or transmission, I went for the Yaris and will put up with a bit less MPG"s.

  11. Has anyone had such issues buying from Rock Auto? They offer Aisin branded water pumps for my Yaris. But now I wonder. In some cases like oil filters, Toyota uses Nippon Denso to supply their filters, so if you find a Nippon Denso filter, it should be the same product.

  38. One time I went to an independent Toyota shop to get some front end work don. When i picked up the car, there was a horrible noise coming from the front left side. I went back and the manager drove it and confirmed it. Turned out that whoever worked on the car, somehow messed up the front wheel bearings. They replaced it at no charge. The manager got mad at the tech for not pointing it out when he test drove it.

  44. Years ago, I got a hail damaged Chevy Prizm with some broken glass as well, low mileage for a steal. I had the glass replaced and left the hail damage, used it for a few years and sold it for the same price I pain 3 yrs later.

  45. I had an after market MAF installed and I noticed my MPG's dropped by almost 5 mpg per tankful. At the same time, I notice an uptick in speed and accelaration. Also read that you should only replace with OEM only.

  50. I feel guilty not keeping up my 98 Corolla, I just let it go down, just did basic maintenance and it did go to 425k miles.
