@joannemcardle1848 Exactly right. But the "law 'n Order" Trumpters only care about rights for themselves, and punishments for those who aren't "Libertarian" Fascists.
1
@joannemcardle1848 What has never been shown?
1
@joannemcardle1848 That's why I used the word "mythic".
1
@joannemcardle1848 And look at Rudi "TRUTH ISN'T TRUTH!" Giuliani: when the FBI searched his apartment and seized electronic devices he complained that they DIDN'T take the hard drives -- plural -- from Hunter Biden's alleged laptop. Where did he get those hard drives (assuming he had them)? What was the chain of custody to ensure they weren't tampered with? That was at the same time that Giuliani was usually drunk, "fart-phoning," and LYING that the election was stolen.
1
@joannemcardle1848 I've seen it, but I was asleep and dreaming at the time. Then I "woke".

Jamie Raskin's father was one of the "Boston 5". They were all acquitted.

“I fear that in every elected office, members will obtain an influence by noise, not sense. By meanness, not greatness. By ignorance, not learning. By contracted hearts, not large souls. There must be decency and respect.” -- John Adams

Isn't "OAN" a Russian propaganda outlet?

Mark Twain compared himself to Geroge Washington: "George could not tell a lie. I can, but I won't." The moral point being that the inability to tell a lie is not a virtue. And the irony is that Washington's "I can't tell a lie" was a lie made up as a story to teach children to not lie.
1
@Mountainsnlilacs Correction: "TRUTH ISN'T TRUTH!" -- Giuliani. Is that a "truth"?
1
"George [Washington] couldn't tell a lie. I can, but I wont." -- Mark Twain. The moral point being that the being incapable of lying is not a virtue. Being able but choosing not to is a virtue. Further: The story about Washington not being able to tell a lie was made up -- a lie -- as a tool to teach children to not lie.

@dennisholliday2454 He DID bring it up during the State of the Union, AND he challenged to call/write the White House and he would provide the BROCHURE PROVING his statement of the facts. He didn't name names during the SOTU but those who knew the history and names knew what he was saying. By NOT making it so specific as to name names he denied the Republicans any means to pretend to be of a different view than those he didn't name. So they called him a liar -- so in response he names names. Those who he named should have told those calling Biden a liar to STFU.

@theronedawson3236 Fixed for ya: GYM Jordan.

@JusticeAlways During the late 1960s there were several conspiracy trials of leftist anti-war people -- "Chicago 8," which became "Chicago 7"; the "Boston 5" (which latter included Pediatrician Dr. Benjamin Spok and Jamie Raskin's father). So "Trump 19" fits the tradition -- the differences being two: all the others were acquitted, because they hadn't actually committed crimes; and they weren't right-wing anti-Americans, and criminals, like the "Trump 19".
1
Trump is not "deranged". Trump has always been a bullshitter, a conman, an "actor" -- the Trump you see is FAKE. But he is intimidated and on the defensive, his schtick is shattered and imploding, and he is desperate. His crap has collapsed into chaos, and is randomly grabbing at straws that used to work, but instead it is all incoherent. Nothing that worked in the past is working. At the same time he is focused on his last "opportunity": establishing multiple violent responses not limited to the Capitol.
1
But the Founders won the revolution because they smartly captured the British airports.
1
How about attacking the Capitol and Metroplitan Police? And what about the REPUBLICAN House voting AGAINST increased funding for the Capitol Police?
1
Having a hardened heart, Cruz wants to "harden" schools.
1
Trump began attacking the elections before the 2016 election.
1
Trump is being sued by numerous cities for not paying the public safety costs incurred by his rallies.
1
MY mask protects YOU. YOUR mask protects ME. The IQs of his constituency needs to be tested for the safety of the nation.
1
What in hell is he talking about? "Black dress"!?
1
Joni Ernst is wearing the Republican mask of "Let's pretend the Republican Party isn't the Party of Racism".

"Justice and the Rule of Law are to be ABOVE politics." -- John Adams.

Haitians VOTE. There are said to be 500,000 in Florida. And now he's attacking the Haitians in Pennsylvania.

Stop giving excuses to Greene, et al., such as "insane" or the like. She and her ilk are simply ignorant, and proud of it -- they reject reason because it smacks of "education". For decades they've been given cudgel against "political correctness" -- against decency, civility, basic good manners. It isn't a new phenomenon: she and her ilk come from a culture in which that is normal behavior -- a constant interpersonal struggle for any standing of power or credibility at all. It is a degenerate culture of tit-for-tat bullying and claiming to be victims. There's no "resolution" for such interchanges because reason doesn't apply, and there is o knowledge of how "debate" works.
1
Kirshner's theory of "pocket pardons" is entirely speculation. What are the chances Trump gave pardons to those who FAILED him? Or would establish a paper trail leading directly back to him?
1
Several Republicans are focusing on the crucial issue: What did Trump do about the insurrection? THAT is getting them: it proves he WANTED the insurrection, and lit the match. He has a history of EXPLICITLY encouraging violence. They were deliberately primed to know what he meant, even though he had his personal lawyer say the words, "Let's have trial by COMBAT!".
1
It can't be proven that there is a "God". But that is the hypotehical: "God" is everywhere, and innfinite, so will hear whatever anyone says/"prays".
1
The "impeachment inquiry" is a CAMPAIGN tactic equivalent to the FAKE "Benghazi" scandal used against Hillary Clinton.
1
"Most people" aren't enough. And this isn't about opioids. State rules, etc., are irrelevent, under the US Constitution's Supremacy Clause. I.e., any state law subordinate to the US Constitution -- including state constiitutional provisions -- are null-and-void.
1
Nsvsrro id sn ECONOMIST!?
1
Republican'ts' "vaccination efforts" are anti-vaccination/pro-death.
1
That repeated propaganda word: 'strong".
1
The US has DUMB leaders, sez Trump -- pointing to himself.
1
Whiney Ted Cruz sounds like Joe McCarthy.
1
As an Amendment to the US Constitution, by its own terms it applies to ALL states, not only to those of the former Confederacy.
1
Trump fought the release of the documents which were bases of the fraud trials he LOST based on those documents. And it was this Supreme Court that held he had to release them.
1
@katiehettinger7857 It's at least 6 of 9.
1
@jacintarichardson2376 More law-illiteracy from the anti-American MAGA cesspool politics. The essence of democracy is elections. The US and every state constitution stipulates that there SHALL be elections. Law is not politics: "Justice and the Rule of Law are to be ABOVE politics." -- John Adams. Our democracy is founded on the rule of law. The Supreme Court is REQUIRED to uphold the Constitution and laws -- the OATH they swear is to the Constitution -- not to political party, ideology, or person.
1
@Riverdawg24 She should have retired when Obama could have replaced her.
1
@cedarwaxwing3509 The whole idea behind Heller and its progeny is to arm the extreme right-wing FOR violent overthrow in order to establish a fascist theocracy. Who would have thought that the Catholics would take the lead and they and the Catholic-hating Protestants would join together in the same project?
1
@Riverdawg24 It was said at the time Ginsberg was having repeat surgeries.
1
@jacintarichardson2376 Yes I understand that -- which is why I remind of the proper respect for the Constitution and laws. There was a time that the "Bible Commonwealth" (Massachusetts-Bay Colony) withheld knowledge of the law from the majority of the colonists. It took decades years of agitation for them to persuade the theocracy that it was only right that they be apprised of their duties and rights so they could know how to behave. How does one comply with the law, and recognize violations of it, if one doesn't know the law?

Make Accountability Great Again.
1
The "water" story he tells is a total fiction. When he doesn't have a legitimate criticism he makes up a lie.
1
@joko09010 Packman is too often out beyond the FACTS.
1
Calling the Democratic Party the "Democrat Party" preceded Trump by DECADES. Same as the continuous attacks on "Liberals" began at latest with Reagan.
1
FOX's fake "news" TALKING HEADS THEMSELVES perpetuated the lies. And we now know that fascist Rupert Murdoch was himself directing that the lying be perpetuated.
