Simon LeVey retracted this, saying he had been mistaken. Having said this, I think one is born gay, straight or bisexual, and that is the end of it. We don't know why, it may be something to do with embryology/genetics - most things have a genetic component.

  3. Going to work: I heard all about this, although it was before my time - you went to work as usual (factory or office) even if you were saying, 'Oh, I was bombed out last night'. That just meant that your house had been destroyed while you slept and you were lucky to be alive. It wasn't an excuse not to turn up to work.
