  2.  @vantefrom870  don’t know if this is actual but Chicago has such corrupt pension systems that it just has to suck a crap load of tax money to fund those generous pensions. Ca has over 1.2 trillion in unfunded pension obligations for the same reason. Politicians keep kicking the proverbial can down the road when they make generous ( very questionable) pension deals.

  14.  @marvingreen8047  back in the 60s and 70s ( in Ohio where I grew up) it was quite common to see cars stalled along the highways due to fuel line freeze up. Thankfully either technology or fuel has changed to pretty much stop that

  17. I grew up in Ohio when manufacturing was a large employment base. My town had so many factories for the blue collar sector that one could quit their job one day and have a new one the next. That went away around the mid 70s or so. As a sportsman there is no longer many places to hunt and other than Lake Erie no good places to fish either. Ohio people are generally great people however. I would never move back as it is a boring place to live for my lifestyle. All they have is sports which suck imo.

  20. Destin has crazy traffic in the off season. Can’t imagine the traffic during the busy season. You are obviously left leaning and that area is heavily retired military which traditionally isn’t left leaning. Good luck. Finding a place that fits your needs isn’t as easy anymore ( I have the same issues )

  41. Dove Monastery beach all the time in the 70s. We learned how to get in and out. Last time there as we were going in two guys came out looking scared to death. They were spearfishing and a great white followed them until they gave their fish to the GW. We canceled our dive in that area that day.
