Brexit is an extinction event- For the UK.
30
Yep, the nationalist community in NI are treated like how the British treated the Aborigines in Australia- As kind of fauna.
30
@herosstratos Exactly, I hope people understand I say this not in a mocking way but "the bitter truth" as you put it. Of course it's in everyone's interest to have a wonderful progressive Britain as an enthusiastic European partner but it simply is not possible yet, just because the wider public are sick of the economic affects of Tory lies corruption and incompetence it doesn't mean that the exceptionalism and hateful xenophobia has gone away.
29
Thats because there never was a plan or a roadmap just the vague impression that things were better 50 years ago, all they can do now is bluff it and hope something turns up.
29
They won they should've gotten over it.
29
The hens have gone on strike too.
28
After everything that has happened over the past 6 years, brexit, Johnson, and now Truss that has destroyed a once prosperous UK economy and made them the laughing stock of the entire developed world, I still have to marvel at the exceptionalism the self entitlement over confidence and delusion of the English people.
27
The scorpion replied: "I didn't sting you it was illegal immigrants and the EU.
27
@Rallan England doesn't know the meaning of hostile countries, you've been dining out for free on the good will your role in WW2 and your membership of the EU has generated, no wonder you elected a self entitled freeloader as PM, now you're going to find out just what it means to earn your living in the real world. As for brexit being the right thing to do- Absolutely, because I want an independent Scotland and reunited Ireland.
26
Sorry Phil but I completely disagree with you, when people think of republics they tend to think of the USA or France where the role of president is highly politicised but in other republics like Germany Ireland and Israel they are not very different to constitutional monarchies differing only in their methods of selection and removal. Although not every child can be an astronaut a doctor or a famous sportsperson they can dream, but are you telling them that they can never be the head of their country no matter how talented or hard working they are because they were not born into the right family? I can never accept that anyone has the right to limit a childs development it is fundamentally unfair. If you vote someone in you can also vote them out, you praised Betty Windsor for the wonderful job she has done but I think her long reign has dulled your memory, there are plenty of historical examples of how murderers lunatics perverts and nazi sympathisers got the gig and were not so easily removed. Just like Americans have a mad blindness for god and guns the English suffer from an obsequiousness to aristocracy that I just cannot understand nor accept, its the 21st century for goodness sake.
26
The legend of Spitfire Hunter In Australia we have federal elections every three years, that keeps the bastards on their toes. Five years is a dictatorship.
26
Look, its perfectly simple Michael Gove explained everything- The UK will be able to maintain the same standards as the EU yet it can chart its own way, there will be no hard border with the ROI but there will be no border between NI and the rest of Britain, you have taken back control you just have to keep paying membership without any say, brexit is over and done with yet little will actually change for 11 months, also you can have your cake and eat it, its not hard to understand.
25
@MegaNewriver Its a human thing.....You wouldn't understand. 😐
25
This is what gets me, they let hundreds of thousands die through neglect and incompetence and waste billions of pounds through corruption yet the public only get angry over a bloody cheese and wine party. 🤷♂️
25
You win the internet today! 🤣
25
Those that don't vote don't count as a percentage they don't count at all, and those who vote naz nasty party know exactly what they'll be getting.
25
The rest of the world needs an ASBO taken out against Britain.
24
The unelected Foreign secretary appointed by the unelected PM appointed by the unelected head of state. 😆
24
The funniest thing is that the option to rejoin the Single Market doesn't exist, and even if it did it is not up the the British people much less readers of the Daily Mail lol.
24
Why would the EU allow the UK to even rejoin the single market? What would they have to gain? The EU can already export everything they want to the UK without checks or tariffs and they can impose whatever checks and tariffs on UK goods they want, it's a perfect situation.
24
Brexit benefits, Irish reunification Scottish independence and David Cameron forced to resign, that's three. Oh and the hilarious amusement of everyone who doesn't live in Britain.
24
Britain has always been jealous of Ireland because it was further away from Europe and closer to the USA.
24
It makes perfect sense, it shows what nonsense race and identity politics is. Creatures like Patel Sunak Javid have shown that even though they're from an ethnic background they can be every bit as greedy nasty and cruel as someone from an English background.
23
They've just realised its happening. 😂
23
@villakaty2206 Me too Katy.
23
Australia has a lot more in common with the USA and Europe (depending on the city) than it does with the UK.
23
No unelected aristocracy can keep the English people repressed! For longer than 1,000 years.
22
2016: I'm the worst year ever! 2020: Hold my beer. 2021: 😏
22
@AllanBurkinshaw-xo7gm And when they were half way across the river the scorpion stung the frog in the head, and as the waters closed over both of them the frog pleaded why.....why? But the scorpion just laughed You lost get over it, lol (lmao).
22
I don't understand, why would anyone have anything to do with the Trump/Musk junta?
22
What has Greece's financial problems got to do with it?
21
🤣 I just had a vision of Boris sitting in a tiny chair pushing little kids aside to grab what he can.
21
@outdoorsgiant4865 You don't know what you're talking about, all dictatorships in history were a result of popular movement, then control is extended over the media and then the judiciary then its martial law and game over.
20
The Johnson variant which causes imbecility has been running rampant since 2016.
20
Chimm Chimminy Chim Chim Cheroooo If you've got a business Boris says F*UCK YOU!
20
"Poor decisions" is not the right phrase because it implies that despite the best intentions mistakes were made, as was stated there was never any intention of following scientific advice where it conflicted with ideology.
20
😂 Underrated comment, I doff my hat to The toff.
20
@terenceingledew1442 England needs a cultural revolution and you can't make an omelette without breaking eggs.
20
It was autobiographical.
19
"It would be divisive and brexiters would be infuriated and think it was a coup". You say that like it would be a bad thing.
19
@jungbolosse3034 That's the attitude, the sneaky continuing obstructive exceptionalism will certainly win you the friends and support that you'll need. You forget the important point that those countries that retain vestiges of nationalism are in and you're not.
19
@casbot71 Fact is that the extreme Right bloc of parties that wanted to destroy the EU from within by making it look ineffective and divided, lost its flagship of the UK Tories who sat with them and not the Center Right, it goes without saying that ultra-nationalism goes against the progressive internationalist ideology espoused by the EU.
19
British English.
19
The choice between a cup of vomit or a cup of piss.
19
@AndrewMartinIsHere Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
19
In the picture the Penguin is clearly wearing a suit. So are the two rats.
18
Tory brexiters: Do you accept cash? EU: Yes.
18
Ireland bet early that the English would be arrogant obstructionist mendacious and incompetent and it paid off! I wonder why, its almost as if they had some insider information. 🤔
18
@davidmcintyre8145 Yeah, there is no such thing as "UK nationalism" pretty soon they're be no such thing as the UK.
18
The final series might be as disappointing as Game of Throne was.
