@87aggietim Its not as though USA did not benefit from China. Chinese workers worked hard to make products like smartphones, computers, electronics, appliances, toys, clothing, sneakers, etc cheap, so that inflation in the U.S is kept to a minimum and the cost of living is lower than it should be. Think of the billions of dollars Americans have saved on living expenses over the years, thanks to affordable Chinese goods. Money saved that can then be spent on other pursuits like cars, housing, luxury brands, or essentials like school fees, tuition fees, doctors fees and hospital bills.
Americans have benefited from trade with China, just China did with USA.

What makes you think Chinese people lack worldly knowledge? Chinese people are free to travel overseas for work, study or play. I mean, haven't you heard of Chinese tourists visiting your lands and spending money on your economies? Your Western schools and universities are positively flooded with Chinese international students, studying the same topics as their peers. Chinese companies like Huawei, Xiaomi, Lenovo, ZTE, Oppo, are expanding overseas, and Chinese investors are buying up real estate in your lands.
So what makes you think Chinese people lack freedoms? Chinese people can be found virtually all over the globe today, since we make up 20% of the world's population after all.

China has 5000 years of history and is among the world's oldest 'continuous' civilization still alive today, whereas other great ancient civilizations like Mesopotamia, Rome and Egypt have long since faded to history. Ancient Chinese had military inventions like the crossbow (and repeating crossbow) and besides gunpowder, Chinese also invented handcannons, handgrenades, fragmentation bombs, landmines, naval mines, exploding cannonballs, rocket launchers, multi-launch rocket systems and of course, fireworks.

China 100% responsible? The government has made it clear that China does not control North Korea, and there are no Chinese military bases in N. Korea, whereas America has military bases in South Korea. North Korea doesn't threaten Chinese cities, only US military bases in South Korea, Okinawa Japan and Guam, so why should China get involved with this conflict between N. Korea, S. Korea and USA? This matter if for NK, SK and USA to work out among themselves, not China.
It is clear that sanctions do not work on North Korea. Why continue impose sanctions, knowing that it wouldn't work? If USA withdrew its troops and military hardware from East Asia it would do more to ease tensions along Korean peninsula, than any sanctions China could ever impose on N. Korea, as shown in previous years. If same method doesn't work, why not try a different approach instead?

Actually, many countries have threaten impose trade sanctions on Chinese goods, or to even boycott Chinese goods altogether. But in the end, demand for Chinese goods remains high and the threats aren't carried out. Chinese workers make products like smartphones, computers, appliances, clothing, sneakers and etc, cheap, so that the cost of living in other countries kept low and reasonable. Think of the millions of dollars people saved over the years, thanks to access to affordable Chinese goods.

How is China dangerous? China today is currently at peace and not at war with any country, since our last major war in 1979. Instead of making war, China is investing in developing countries like Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and also African countries like Nigeria, Kenya, Chad, Sudan, Ghana, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, etc.
Whereas the United States is warmonger, being involved in Gulf War, Iraq War, Afghan War, Libyan War, Syrian War, etc, even in the 21st century. The USA is enacting regime change by cutting off those country's heads (Saddam Hussein, Muammar Ghaddafi, etc) and then installing their own US puppet governments in place. Now, the countries at risk are Assad Regime of Syria and Maduro of Venezuela. Even the supreme leader of Iran is possible target for the USA to enact regime change.
Therefore, isn't United States the more dangerous power here?

@stevew6910 said "We was a big reason for China becoming a member of the world trade organization,"
Please don't act as though USA "invited" China to WTO. When WTO was founded in 1995, China aimed to be included as a WTO founding member (which would validate our country as a world economic power) but this attempt was thwarted because the United States, European countries, and Japan requested that China first reform various tariff policies, including tariff reductions, open markets and industrial policies. The United States imposed additional conditions on China and when China joined the WTO, it agreed to considerably harsher conditions than other developing countries.
So Westerners didn't help China to join WTO, we wanted to be a member back in 1995, but this attempt was thwarted by US and its allies, so in the end, China had a late entry to WTO in 2001 instead.

@87aggietim If the US wants fair trade then why is USA slapping sanctions on Iran, sanctions on Russia, sanctions on North Korea, sanctions on Venezuela, and virtually every country that opposes it. The US also slap tariffs on China too which is hurting American companies and farmers who bear the brunt of the US-China trade war. China always advocate that there are no winners in a trade war, only losers.
And who says China don't help USA? China buys about 1.2 trillion dollars ($1,200,000,000,000) worth of U.S debt to help Americans tide over the 2008 financial crisis, so how exactly is USA propping up China?

China is helping build infrastructure less developed countries like Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Maldives, and African countries like Kenya, Nigeria, Angola, etc.
