Russia has used its artillery on cities like mariupol with no regard to the civilian casualties, Russian soldiers murdered civilians in Bucha, Russia has continued to target cities across Ukraine with no regard to the civilians their poorly guided missiles have endangered, injured and killed.

  7. You're funny, the GMLRS rocket that himars fires is far less expensive than the missiles Buk is firing to intercept them. $168,000 per M31 GMLRS rocket, the Buk missile costs about $500,000 and they're firing 2 to intercept 1 GMLRS.

  12. Every year the US retires or throws away billions of dollars of older military equipment, they have thousands of Abrams tanks sitting in storage. Almost all the stuff they're throwing to Ukraine was going to be thrown somewhere, and with a lot of the munitions it's actually cheaper to ship it than decommission it.

  15. @reaper666-kp8zm  so in your fantasy 60,000x28=1.7 million eliminated, presumably 4 million more injured and out of action. That would be all of the men suitable for military service. So why hasn't Russia reached Kyiv? Answer: the figures offered by Russia are nonsense. Yes, Russian casualties are likely greater than Ukraine casualties because Russia has been trying harder to advance, and casualties are expected to be higher for the attacking force. That's the nature of warfare.

  49.  @Bashnja1  Russia was supplying the Donbas separatists with artillery which was used to kill Ukrainians. Fortunately the conflict was at very low levels through 2019, 2020 and 2021. Unfortunately the Russian invasion has increased the number of civilians killed by the conflict a thousand fold over those more recent years.

  50. @Judith Arnett  Russia had the motive; it reduced the options to the Ukrainians for their offensive, and Russia had the means, it was a massive explosion from within the dam that destroyed it, it's very difficult to explain how Ukraine could have planted the huge amounts of explosives when the dam has been under Russian control for a year. Ukraine also has every intention to reclaim the whole of the Kherson oblast, now they'll have to find the billions of dollars to rebuild the dam.
