Now that's what I call customer service.
59
Shelby's came with Ford engines, so it's no wonder there are transplant rejection issues ;)
34
Not asking for help is a sign.
15
It's a race between Dave getting the old engine out and Ray getting the delivered engine out if the crate.
14
Why would the shop pay? Maybe the shop Ray works had as integrity.
13
@RainmanRaysRepairs As a customer I would rather have you call me and let me make that decision. Some people care about their car and most people don't and you did say the car was taken care of after lifting off the valve covers.
11
@RainmanRaysRepairs If you put your finger over the hole in the vacuum you will get more walnut shells out when you are only vacuuming.
9
How much do you want for it Eric?
7
You know it's bad when the plasma cutter is needed :)
7
Happened to my Audi and the rings are stuck in the compressed state :(. The dealer wants to put an engine in but maybe BG EPR + MOA can help, anyway it's a lot cheaper than an engine.
6
This is what guys are doing when their girlfriends or wifes think they are out cheating.
6
They make designs that work on the assembly line not for the mechanic.
6
Brandon is a NASCAR driver
5
It just needs new a catalytic convertor and some new o2 sensors ;)
5
Or bollocks
5
Only if you dont have a hood
5
@markadams5429 I had to get a used engine put in my Audi and it had a 1 year warranty.
5
The hybrid battery is the starting battery, the battery in the trunk is for accessories.
5
Practice makes perfect ;)
4
Is that Uncle Rodney I hear?
4
Do they have Fluid Film in Florida? lol. Can't pre fill the filters I the cars I take care of as the are mounted vertically down so it would all drain out.
4
Ship it off to Eric :)
4
Had something similar happen on my used Audi, dealer replaced the engine with a used one. The new used one had a similar issue but at a much lower rate. I added a can of Engine Restore and haven't had any oil loss since.
4
They made it for quick lube places as it's cheaper, those places car owners care more about cheapness over quality.
4
The engineer would just tell you to remove the engine.
4
They probably have a special tool for it ;)
3
This is why it's important to check the oil level.
3
I think a body shop would be the next stop for that car if they want it fixed.
3
My 2016 Audi doesn't have a dipstick.
3
You're supposed to get the inspection before you buy it, not after.
3
Unless the count the Grand Canyon as a pothole.
3
Put in a can of Engine Restore in, might run better at least.
3
@RainmanRaysRepairs Haters going to hate.
3
I have yet to go to a shop that will diagnose for free.
3
@RainmanRaysRepairs I would run OE or Signature Series for cars that take it unlike mine that I use 0W-30 European Oil from Amsoil.
3
Those estimates are ridiculous. They are easy to work on and there isn't that much to the 100,000 mile service.
3
You can always put a magnet on the oil filter and see if something accumulates.
3
@markadams5429 It was a used engine, no idea where the dealer got it from, as I didn't have to pay for it.
3
Everything is a hammer 🔨⚒
3
Dave has the right tool for the job.
3
The issue isn't customer supplied parts. My local small shops charge the same as if they supplied the parts, so the customer gets the products and parts they want and the shop still makes money. If a shop wouldn't install my parts I would simply go somewhere else.
2
Interesting but for tightening the filter it should be done to the correct torque setting with a torque wrench.
2
One of the few mechanics I've seen use Amsoil, hope you'll be offering it to your customers.
2
New on the rears
2
Didn't see any zip tie or grease action.
2
Ray's just not used to how real luxury car are put together ;). Must be another YT video on how to do this that you could copy
2
I remember just using petroleum jelly on the terminals.
2
60 degrees isn't cold, you have been in Florida too long ;). The dealer tossed the scanner out which means its no longer their property.
2
Time to fire up the chainsaws and wood chippers
2
If it has a torque specification then it should be torqued, just because most people don't isn't relevant.
