The first thing that came to my mind is how the RN 50 has no failsafe mesures whatsoever, i understand the novelty of a tube gun and that Mark Serbu wanted to give a job to a young gun designer, but i feel like in the process of a teenager presenting him the design of a 50 BMG tube gun he should have reviewed it a bit more intensely before putting it into production.

Awesome video! i was hopeing you would get to a SPIW rifle at some point, shame you guys couldent figure how to take it apart, funny how something that was competing to be a service rifle at some point is now so lost to history we no longer know how to take it apart, i wonder if its covered in the trials reports?

I dont know i think quite the opposite, i have a model 12 that slamfires, and out of stubborn determination i wanted to get good at it, It can be quicker than conventional shooting but only with alot of practace, because in the process of bringing the pump forward its easy to throw your aim. after sacrificeing many cases of cheap birdshot, i can say comfortably my slamfire times are infact faster, but it requires far more concentration to aim and kind of requires a shooting form of its own. Only real practical use i could see would be bird hunting, because the thing is while it is quicker, its not much quicker, and it requires focus that i cannot imagine youd have while being shot at also doing it accurately at any kind of distance requires shooting from a stand still, which again, does not seem conducive to surviveing a war.

  9. the 9x39 weapons in the stalker games where all absolute death machines. once you got one there was little point to anything else, especually the last half of clear sky where suddently everyone carrys 60 AP rounds. the end game of clear sky in general was just unbridled chaos

  10. Yeah in the Us this seems wierd because why not just buy a semi auto but compaireing this to bolt and lever actions i can see it absolutely dominating competitions

  11. @Eugene Stoner Its a good rifle for what it was intended for, a plain, cheep, basic rifle for use in the woods or around the property. I would say as a combat rifle as ive said before, the AR is a better option. but not everyone requires or wants a combat rifle. If a guys only priority is to shoot at coyotes around a ranch what happens at high round counts really is not a big deal

  14. They where so heavily overbuilt that as long as fresh springs are kept they will pretty much function. Remember in their time they where considered more as area denial emplacements, so it was expected that they would be firing hundreds of thousands if not millions of rounds over their service life peppering beaten zones, so its that kind of picture the designers had when putting these together generally. If i recall correctly post war the British tested a maxium and it fired 7 million rounds with only field level matanence (barrel swap, springs adjusted/changed. and when you consider the frames are milled steel boxes, it makes sense

  20.  @12345NoNamesLeft  that, not the point. the point is alot of forign firearms that worked perfectly well in there home countries have issues in the US because americans dont know how to handle and maintain them properly. or even know what they are for, i mean listen to the amount of boomers that still think the AK was designed to be inaccurate so that it could "spread like a shotgun!" dispite the fact the soviet military put a emphasis on marksmanship and did not allow the use of full auto without direct orders.

Which I think gets into a huge part of the civil war itself, the reason they wanted to hold on to slavery was for the most part simply because free labor, as horrible as it was, many of these people had entire businesses built off of human labor being treated like machine labor. As a result they knew that should slavery become illegal they would rapidly loose there financial stability. With a large part of these people involved in government, boom, succession happens. This whole "States rights" narrative was largely added later on to add appeal to the majority of people to poor to afford slaves who would otherwise have no change in the game.

  33.  @Terpygrowz707  Because consulting experts, reference collections and flying around to get all the photographs costs a substantial amount of money. this is actually on the low end of the technical book price curve. Sure its expensive but if you think about it it costs about as much as 2 trips shooting. its really not unobtainable.

Its designed for that. the steel on the actual stop is softer than the slide. now the actual stops on some guns might wear, i know glocks stops will do it at high round counts, but the slide notch? no. it doesent happen, so use it like it was intended or look like an idiot.

  49. shalafi4 have you made some cartrages? a straighter walled magazine seems to be the option. costom made would probably work the best in the long run. mabey temporarily AK74 magizines would work better

  50. Is there any company that manufactures brass? or anyway to get one of these shooting at all?  did the original cases use standard primers?
