@moss787 That attitude is why I'll be voting 3rd party this year. Neither of the major party candidates want my vote anyways, so I might as well register my dissatisfaction by voting for one of the other choices. I'm not voting RFK JR because he's more or less not running, and was pretty nutty. But, that leaves me with 7 other not-Dem, not-GOP options to vote for.

@andyharman7581 Around here the minimum wage is nearly $20 an hour right now and there is no exemption for tips. I think the restaurant workers are still making a bit less before tips than the regular minimum wage, but that exemption ends the beginning of next year.
1
It kind of amazes me that hacks like Black can conveniently forget that it's not our jobs to find a reason to vote. It's the parties and the candidates who have the responsibility to earn our vote and give us a reason to come out and vote. With so many people not voting at all, that's an absolutely damning indictment of the political elites.
1
Why? Women are why Trump won in 2016.
1
Why should we? The Democrats are doing basically nothing to help young men out, why should we turn out for her? This has been going on for decades and while the GOP isn't doing anything for us either, at least they're giving some lip service. The DNC can't even give us lip-service or pretend like our issues are important to them.
1
We haven't had a real election in quite a few years. Obama was the last candidate that the left wanted and he turned out to be a complete fraud. Before that it was Clinton who was also an absolute fraud.
1
He's also an absolute psychopath that worked for McKinsey.
1
Patriots aren't voting for that undemocratic hack. She won zero primaries and didn't even have a platform ready, despite having worked with Biden long enough that she had to have known that he was too senile to last through the next term.
1
@stefrost4029 It's hard for restaurants to compete with ones that don't include the tax in the price. For the most part the only places that I've seen tax being included is at sports games from the vendors walking around because of how much of a pain calculating and dealing with the change can be while traveling around the stadium.
1
That's optimistic, I can't imagine anything they do with the show actually moving the needle in either direction on this.
1
I sort of get why conservative women would, but why would any conservative men vote for Harris when she's promising men as close to nothing as possible.
1
@JEEDUHCHRI Possibly, although it's also his job to push back, the fact that it doesn't happen consistently across all shows doing interviews is a major problem. My wife had Fox News on and they were doing a panel on the Israel-Hamas fight where every single panelist was pro-Israel.
1
They managed it in 2020 with a candidate that was already in decline, at this point we're in danger of needing Andrew McCarthy and Jonathan Silverman to do a quick Weekend at Bernie's job. Which would be somewhat ironic given that the actual corpse here isn't Bernie Sanders.
1
@owenlarson07366 Nobody wants Kamala. She had like a 2 or 3% share of the votes last time. They can afford to lose those votes if they get somebody from the Bernie wing of the caucus to take over.
1
That used to be more the case back when wages actually covered the cost of living.
1
Unfortunately, even if he does that, it'll probably be somebody terrible like Kamala that's just as much of a sell out as he and Obama were.
1
Incompetence is being kind, they deliberately threw the election because they make the same money either way, it's just that if they lose it makes it a lot easier to fundraise and they aren't on the hook to follow through on any of the promises they made.
1
@dylank.4498 Why? At this point anybody that's still a Democrat probably can't be reached. Blue MAGA and Blue-anon are real things, the left really shouldn't be making fun of the right for being out of touch with reality after this election. The DNC has been just completely ignoring the will of the people for too long, and we all suffer when there isn't a viable alternative to what the GOP wants to do.
1
@luckylanno They often times have 2 steering wheels, but I think if there is only one steering wheel it's on what's normally the passenger side.
1
If that 8 year old is super rich and super connected that might be appropriate. Until that kid can have successful donation parties where millions are raised by the campaign in one evening, Clooney is the one to listen to. We went down this path with HRC and even with the campaign dollars she still lost. Biden is probably less popular than HRC was, at least people generally agreed that she wasn't senile.
1
@dreadlord5581 How on earth is that even remotely surprising? That was never a recognized thing to not let the sitting President choose the nominee to send to the Senate for confirmation just because it was nearing election time.
1
@jtarwa4088 That's normal elections. This election there has also been people getting arrested for overt voter intimidation of strangers.
1
Because we have money in politics and donor cash is what keeps the incompetent folks like Pelosi and Biden in power.
1
And men aren't? There's more shelters for animals than for men.
1
Harris was going to cut the military?
1
We don't accept it, it just turns out to be a very hard condition to treat.
1
I'm a man that voted for Jill Stein, because that was the right thing to do. The Democrats have been quite clear that the don't want white men voting for them. They don't want black men voting for them. They don't want Middle Eastern men voting for them. They seem to tolerate Asian men and Latino men voting for them, but mostly because they check DEI boxes that they care about.
1
@Karlaintheburbs It's almost as if minorities are capable of having their own opinions and if the Democrats want the votes, they need to earn them.
1
IKR, there's a reason why he was hiding in his basement through most of the campaign when everybody else was campaigning.
1
Who do I have to vote for to get policies that actually address the numerous men's rights issues?
1
Yep, I voted Stein because she actually cares about the voters.
1
OK, then explain why her platform completely leaves out men's issues if she's going to be the POTUS for all Americans. Is she going to deport all the men? Because roughly half of all Americans are men or boys.
1
@dingus6317 Considering that he recently acknowledged the harm done to the German-American community via the US concentration camps in the US where German-Americans that couldn't be conscripted or resettled were sent along with the Japanese-Americans, his ethnicity is unlikely to be why. He could just as easily have said Italian-Americans or Chinese-Americans as both groups were sent to the camps as well.
1
Well, the normie dems wanted electable last time, so now this time the man is even more senile than he was last time and a bunch still seem to think that he's better than Trump.
1
The issue is that it messes with the pricing policy. What the customers are presented with before they order is a price and that's what resonates, whether it is or is not inclusive of tip, the amount is what they see first. And, it's actually a fair amount of thinking to figure out what you're going to be paying with tax and tip. I didn't realize how much until I moved to a place with no salse tax and no tips.
1
Don't be greedy. A candidate like that can't win in this environment. Sigh, that is more or less why I'm voting 3rd party.
1
@gamepeon8038 No he's not. They had to let him out on account of him being dead. The body would stink up the prison.
1
@heyheyhey33351 It's a damning indictment of the Democratic elites that didn't bother to even try to find a candidate that the voters wanted after having outright rigged the primaries the previous two cycles. We know Trump is going to be a disaster, the fact that I can't vote for Kamala is completely their fault for not even trying to earn my vote. Not that it matters, the electoral college ensures that my vote won't count no matter what candidate I choose.
1
Which is part of why I refused to vote for either major party candidate.
1
Higher wages tend to increase prices, although if it's done properly, the two should largely cancel each other out.
1
I stopped watching those movies years ago because there were too many of them and there was too much being split amongst different movies to properly understand what was going on. It was great for the mega-fans, but for more casual fans it was a lot. I miss when franchises were more limited in scale and usually didn't have more than 3 or 4 movies.
1
I've been thinking recently that since Obamacare was essentially the Heritage Foundation proposal, it might have been better for him to just not do anything and just put up the normal feeble attempt to block the GOP from doing what it was going to do anyways. Because they started with a GOP proposal and it got moved to the right from there.
1
That's why a Biden/Harris ticket is doomed. Nobody wants Kamala, even on the Democratic side she only got like 2% of the primary votes last time. There are people that legitimately want Trump to be the President, the same largely can't be said of Biden. And that's even before people started to realize just how senile Joe really is. We knew last time that he was slipping, but I'm not sure people realized he had slipped this much.
1
@ronswanson1410 same here. I'm voting 3rd party, but I live in a state that hasn't voted GOP since the '80s, so it's not like if I did vote for either major party candidate that it would make any difference.
1
@guyvizard549 Or, perhaps it's a damning indictment of both parties to offer us something that justifies voting for one or the other. In 2016, it felt like Trump wanted votes and HRC couldn't be bothered to try to earn any. This time around, it feels like neither candidate really wants my vote. They certainly aren't promising me things that I might want to vote for them. I can't trust either one of them to fix the courts or get money out of politics, so what's the point? The only real difference is how quickly you want to get to full on fascism, and I'm not old enough to die before that happens.
1
Jim Jordan isn't running for President and presumably wasn't getting any of George's money.
1
To be fair, I think a lot of people knew this was going to be horrible. I don't think that anybody could have reasonably predicted half of the unhinged madness that's going on. The mass deportations, yes. Musk being allowed to take control of the Treasury and OMB, not so much.
1
He's not going to be in charge of the EPA.
1
What's it called when an entire political party does that to people?
1
There isn't a free delivery option? Around here, there's a program that the local grocery store has to get free pickup or delivery for $50 a year, with at least that much in coupons and points.
