Jonny Oliveira Handling-Almost all BMWs handle better, problem with Lexuses is its damn heavy so not at all light and agile feeling as BMWs mileage- no diesel at 1st place and the hybrids are super slow Interior design- its not something that has the traits that BMWs and Audis have like stylish yet spacious, Lexuses have some ergonomic quirkiness  Ride quality- Its good but again Germans give better ride quality when driven hard, Lexuses ride is good as good as Germans when driven at slow to moderate pace, increase the speed 1 ll feel the body roll and some excess movement in back seats, not with the germans

See no need to worry about Lexus vs BMW vs MERC vs Audi Cuz for some who wants peace of mind and cheap luxury the Lexus makes sense,there r a lot of soft riders,who just want quiet ride,plush ride,comfy features and space and for em lexus makes sense cuz its cheaper 2 buy,but its no way overall a better car than German trio,thats y so much brand image still halos German trio,the German trio earned those names with hard work and supreme attention to detail, Lexus is a brand that grew up tryin to immitate and compete with em, Just look at latest lexus RCF its crap compared to German trio,still its a lexus,so cheap and reliable,thats wht some people want,so it ll stay in market for some time,but when German trio makes the next step lexus will lag,again play catch up,this ll continue

Mr Wonderful Agree with the part of reliability and after slaes and service costs of Lexuses, Just do u think it drives,has more qualitu,more comfort,mor presense,more class inside than the BMW,AUDI,MERC competition, See I am an auto journalist as well and since I too test cars I have no bias but I ll admit that I love Fords thats why the name ponygt662,aprt from that when I tested the handling,ride quality,luxury provided,etc I found lexus to be like beefed up Toyotas,like richer Camry,richer Avalon,etc, Also most Lexuses were slow too,they are good for calm quiet people but if someone really loves driving and wants a car with well balanced qualities its definitely not Lexus.

Jonny Lexus has just one LFA whereas VAG has lots of cars,what is a Bugatti Veyron, its a VW,how many diesels do Lexus have, VW has v10,V12,v8 tdi that r more economical and more powerful than any Lexus Hybrid cars or gas v8s Also isf is not faster than RS4 around tracks, in certain tracks its faster but in most tracks RS4 is faster, http://www.zeperfs.com/en/duel1549-1876.htm Interior quality is good for both but BMW,AUDI,MERC etc feel more plush and user friendly and the touch screen is of lkw resolution in Lexus and the joystick based input is finicky to use compared to i drive and Audis new super cool speedometer integrated mmi system. Also the German competition leaves more space in the front for driver somehow due to restrained design. Also VW has Lambo,Porsche, now under its arms so Lexus has no chance, Give me a Lexus substitute to BMW M235I,AUDI S3,MERC CLA 45 AMG, afforbadle fast beasts with small engines so less carbon emissions and fast as hell. Why do you think Lexus isnt selling much in Europe,I too had this notion that relaibility is everuthing,but for a person who can spend that much money,the car should be special,so BMW drive brilliant has smart petrol and diesel low displacement engines,and dosent suffer from annoying cvts and slow heavy entry level performance cars, I have no personal grudge towards Toyota or honda or anything,I already told my bias its for Ford not Germans not Japsnese,so I can be sure of what I felt in between Germans and Japanese. Still I am not sayin Lexus is bad but its still not quiet as good as Germans,better than Cadillacs buicks infiniti also but not as good as Merc,BMW,Audi, This is my take after drivin em,if ur opinion is otherwise well and good but this is what I felt after feelin em in person,I work for an auto magazine in India,so I have nothing with Lexus.

Jonny Have you been to Aston Martins v8 fascility in Germany, Do you know the chief designer of new Mondeo used to work for Aston Martin, do you know how much Aston and Ford were co operating back in 2003-05 etc building Vantages, Fords coyote platform is shared between Jaguar and Aston Martin as well,so the relation between Ford,Aston Martin,JLR is much deeper than a lot of people think, For eg check out the US only vehicle named Ford Explorer,its supremely reminiscent of Range Rover sport and even houses a second gen terrain response system almost the same thing JLR vehicle uses for their AWD too. They helped mutually,I mean Aston and Ford to build one of worlds best virtual reality design center where goggles can be used to see and even feel a to be produced car, So they worked togather a lot more than what internet shares,Ford helped Aston deeply to build its v8 fascility,if not for that ASTON wouldnt have known anything about mass manufacturing,so Aston had mutual respect as well, Again Fords relationship with Volvo too was intense,they learned a lot of safety and solidity from Volvo,even Fords Taurus US versin is a volvo s80 platform. Did u even bother to check the images of Ford thunderbird and Ford Puma before commentin,see these cars were from 90s and they had similar Aston Martin cues and styling as well, Ford and Aston Martin had some design themes that were similar,but since these brands were in really good relatuonship both accepted and even today they have no problem,its we who think it looks Aston ish, bo where did Aston Martin make a statement about it.

Jonny U didnt get my point maybe u r smoking and reading, What I am talking about is the same type of design themes Ford,Jag,Aston used in lot of models, U can go on complaining about it,but from Fiesta to Mondeo,Ford has some design cues that matches with Astons design,even before iy got this new grille,one can see the pronounced swept back headlight design,Ford decided to give face lift to that face by sperating logo from grille to bonnet region like in FORD GT, if one does that Fords trapezoidal grille is full of black plastic that wont exude premiumness,so they chromed it out , Sure it has Aston Martin cues but hey Aston designers were given the face lift job and the finished product got maximum. Votes for production as well. Thats what makes Ford have a differnt loook from its competirion most of em having logos on grilles, If it was an issue like what u ve been pointin out Astom wud ve filed a patent complaint,nothing happened,just because Aston excists dosent mean an everyday brand like that one shouldnt exist unless its a true copy,in Europe Fieata is one of best selling small cars as well, Focus the 3rd best selling car in the world,both of em now has this new face and its just gettin more and more popular, Since Mondeo is biggest of Fords line up,it resembles lot of Astons true,if that means copying in your mind its ur impression, its not copying anyway for me since both Aston and Ford had similarity in design of some cars even in 90s, Just look at Pumas grille,its too Aston Martin like,except it was blacked out and small

Ok Jonny Try removing the upper small grille from the Ford Puma and place it on its bonnet,its 95% Aston Martin Vantages look,just a bit more tiny in proportion, Sure Ford is trying to market it with the Aston name and it does work,its not cohesive in all aspects but sure it does impose an Astons image and that translates into sales,so why not try it, Have u seen new Mazda 6 interior it looks like photocopy of BMW with cheaper plastics thats it but people still love it and its making huge progress even in Europe Ford has taken a new approach to its design like love it or hate it,the previous gens were like VW designs somewhat classy and timeless in nature now they ve got this new philosophy and interestingly more people love it over hate it.

See I know that all these cars have that but look how mazda did it,with fake wood inserts running wide like in bmw and the transnission and control center position exactly like in bmws,also the screen with buttons on both sides in middle region like in all mk6 vw golfs jettas passats, Sure lot of brands hold this theme but mazda looks most identical and yet its selling well and people love it, same waylot of brands get inspired,so does Ford with their Aston Martin grills

S.T.T I am a Ford fan and I have no reason to support lexus or audi or bmw,but I can assure you that 90% of population love the German infotainment theme over the crowded low resolution ,lcd display in lexus Lexus are generally slower than their similarly priced Audis due to may be more weight or more hybrid mechanisms Lack of diesel engines is the biggest problem,for a luxury manufacturer its a shame that worlds largest auto group didnt make any good diesel cars,shame on Lexus,see how vibrant and efficient and low co2 diesels Germans have,what does lexus have? AWD tech of Germans work a little bit better,eg quattros they not only give better grip but gives better accelararion unlike Lexus system that gives better traction but by reducing performance

S.T T. Wow, what a reply Just U think Lexus philosphy is what people should follow, NO, its peoples philosophy that a brand should follow People want,comfort,luxury,power,performance,handling etc in 1 single package, who does it best its the BMW 320d, it does 0-100 kmph in 7.6s, handles well, rides extremely well, has nice rear legroom, has all the creature comforts 1 wud ever need, now thats the perfect philosophy, now hav u seen the new Audi MMI system the 1 they did py partnering with NVIDIA, I dont think Lexus is even close 2 it, U tell all German MMI is same, I mean r u mad, just look how the new S Class interior is, In reality I like it even more than Rolls Royce Rolls is an obsession, it dosent mean its the sportiest, its a collectors item, not a mass car Who cares from where Lexus comes, what people car is, is it powerful,is it efficient,is it comfortable,is it spacious,is it priced generously.. and Germans does all these better, Y is Audi developing new electric turbo diesels,why twin turbo diesels, they r kno always people will prefer diesel over petrols as long as diesels r banned,common sense, Lexus fails hard to understand that, thats Y thy sell like SHIT in Europe worlds most luxurious market

I being a non American and non European should admit that American cars are the worst, I stay in Asia and GM and VW sell most no of cars here after the Japanese and Korean tin can like light weight cars And GM sells cars with a whole set of cars from Buick to Opels/Vaxhaulls and still people buy them just because they are cheap to buy and because of the good engines like 1.3 MJD and some small petrol engines and none of the original American car is good,Cruze etc is completely crappy car compared to competition Americans might disagree but its a fact that people outside America use more American cars than people in USA,very poor engineering by Americans, if it wasnt for European brands like Opel,Dewoo,fiat,etc GM would have died long b4 reachin China/Taiwan etc Ford is anyday better thn GM but still no pure American engineered Ford is good, love their engines though All American products hold on to the statement USE AND THROW, whereas European and Japanese and even Koreans have improved a lot

JAnx01 sorry mate I happen to disagre with u, I have driven the latest gen Golf R and its much much better car than the Subaru WRX, sure u cant have powerslides  with ur skill but for the money the new Golf R/Audi S3 is unbelievably good, even in a track battle the Subaru has no chance against the new Golf R/S3, the lack of turbo lag is even better weapon than Subarus Boxers displacement, the new R/S3 takes corners with same or more speed than Subaru and in comfort mode its as comfy as a daily driver Golf/Audi I personally being a Ford Focus RS fan was utterly disappointed with my RS before the new Golf R, the RS couldnt keep up in drag race or even track by even a cars length, the new R is in a way worlds most under rated car

In almost all track battles the Golf R is either faster or just a smidge slower than STI,remember 50 hp less light years better interior as well,a hardcore focused car is just as good as a VWs fast Golf, If u people still r tryin to defend Subaru its becuz either some havent driven the new Golf R or its fanboyism,I am not fan of either of of em,but the Golf R is damn soo brilliant that 1 will find it difficult to hate it,and when Golf does 95% of things Subaru does with more comfort luxury,class,easiness,what should I pick.

It now has the worst back seats in compact C car class, has the worst drummy plastic interiors, lots and lots of fit and finish issues, Pathetic boot space despite having longer wheelbase and length than Golf,snd yey its still not as good handling as its MK II big brothet or thr Mazda 3. Has a crappy MYFord touch, again worst in segment, Pathetic means totally pathetic dual clutch Getrag auto box, Slow ecoboost 1.5l engines and slow TDCis. Golf sells more because its more classy and biggest reason is quality,every golf gen to gen has a higher quality cabin than its immediate competition, Mk3 focus had an intial sales spike when launched because it had lot of features and it became more comfy to drive and quality was like 95% MK6 golf,but when VW launched mk7 the quality sifference between golf and focus widened Also dsg is way better than powershift from user experiences so people again if ever in need f a auto car wl choose skoda,seat,golf dsg not powershift Mk7 golf is in a sense even better car than its premium sibling the audi a3,and rides and handles better than mercedes a class too,so the reason y Focus is declining is golf,its too good nowadays, if ford dosent increase quality and space inside the focus it will be doomed

Sic22l I am not from Europe I am from Asia but I van tell u one thing,Focus dosent sell well cuz it lost its handling,this is a wrong notion, First thing u need to know is Focus even without hydraulic power assisted steering and the old stiff setup now handles better than most cars in fact I still think its even better to drive than a Mazda 3 The second thing is the handling gap has sure come down,mk2 and mk1 focus had a long shot in terms of handling whereas quality,refinement,safety,technology easily was lacking,so Ford improved it to play the catch up,but that didnt work quiet well due to poorly designed interior, Another thing that people value much much more than space is the green house and space inside,Focus mk2 had more effective legroom and knee room inside than MK3,and that made Focus challenging one to pick over its competition. Also have u driven the Golf or Octavia or peugot 308 ot somethin like that lately,u ll find that most of em has become simple to use inside and more rich in quality,refinement,tech etc, For any layman Mazda handles better than Focus and Golf,then y is it that the new Mazda 3 and even new cx5 isnt making hay like it shud ve been, its easy, The GOLF its the biggest problem for Europe,MQB is too good that it kills allnof its competition in form of GOLFs,OCTAVIAs seats

Wouter Vangossum The Nurburgring time isnt a final word, Let them compare it on a fair day and on same time, on similar conditions, also the 275 Hp Renault Megane trophy and Seat Leon cupra 280 too did beat the M4, which isnt something that will happen in reality, just keep ur hopes high but nothing can beat a turbo straight six and the M differential, its already done 1:38.9 in Laguna Seca which is mighty for a luxury car based sports car, just wait, U havent seen Hondas ugly face, it sure wont beat the M4 in long tracks, the M4 can definitely do better.

See I have driven M4, its way way way better than CTR, maybe its built quality,comfort,features,ride quality,power,sound,fun to drive factor,interior designing,seats, all are way way way better than CTR, CTR is for those Honda fanboys only, I am an enthusiast and I love all superb machines, true, the CTR is best fwd car ever built but it isnt feelsome,it is just a plain jane fast fwd car, even a Fiesta ST is more Fun to drive than CTR. GTR too s awesome

  50. jon lo Yeah..I kno,pity on em, inbetween after this video some of my friends did some timed laps on Lommel with BMW M235i with Mischellin Pilot sport Cup tires and it easily beats CTR, some even got 45.77s, Bmw,Audi all have comfort and tire noise less tires as stock and their grip is somewhat compromised, with a little bit of agfressive rubber an M135i too may beat the hell out of CTR.
