The problems arise because of the competition between different national capitalist classes for markets, cheap labor and the profits that go along with them. if the world were infinite then the capitalist could keep building, reinvesting in new machinery and never run out of markets. The problem for them is that isn't true. So trade war begins which is followed by real war. How far away are we from a real war with China? That would obviously be a disaster for the world but will each side pull back from the brink before it becomes to late?

  4. ​ @DeliciousDeBlair  There can be no level playing field since capitalism is based on the nation state. Inside nation states the capitalist have rules of competition. These gentlemanly disagreements in national contract law between say GM and Ford are mildly and easily enforced with civil law by their state apparatus. Outside of the nation state the rules are decided upon by brute military strength. The last big test of that brutal power was called WW2. After which a system of rules of power and tested military strength was set up called the United Nations and Bretton Woods Agreement. The big powers sit as permanent members on the Security Council with veto power over any joint UN military action. The General Assembly is there to provide a complainers and protesters forum only an like an open steam valve. Bretton Woods provided the new monetary rules for the capitalist countries. As an addendum: Each capitalist state reserves most of it wrath, police violence and military state power for use against its own workers and family farmers.

The Democratic Imperialist of France, the US/UK had no problems with Hitler until he started threatening them with Germany's military expansion. The Democratic Imperialist had no problem with Stalin as long as he was fighting Hitler. In fact they found him to be a convenient ally until NAZI Germany and Japan were defeated. Then within a few months the Cold War began. The Russian Bolshevik revolution was in 1917. The civil war ended by 1921. Stalin was a minor figure. He didn't get full control until he purged the party of all disent in the 1936 to 1938 Moscow Trials. That's about twenty years later not a few months later like Hitler. All the old Bolsheviks were purged after frame up trials and torture forced confessions. Regardless of past differences all were accused of Trotskyism. Anyone who had ever criticized Stalin even if they had helped him at some critical time was included in the Great Purge. The NKVD was given quotas for arrests much like American police handing out speeding tickets. Stalin's hands reached all the way to Mexico to murder his most voracious critic Leon Trotsky.

They refuse to invest in either expansion of the Texas grid by syncing it to either the Eastern or Western interconnect and as long as it like that huge rotating equipment or massive DC to AC inverters are required to do any interconnection not a simpler and cheaper wire and cable interconnect. The only other solution is to have excess fossil fuel generating capacity or huge DC battery storage capacity. Texas is the largest state producer of wind energy. Another solution for emergency generation would be to equip all cars with a combination of slightly larger alternators and inverters and/or use of the car battery in electric cars as a stored energy source. None of this is rocket science it's just a matter of bigger profits can be made by investing elsewhere like in financial get rich stock market manipulation (Gamestop) or capitalist banks feeding their vault's with cheap zero interest rate fiat currency from the central bank.
