  1. I lived in NYC briefly. My car got towed by NYPD for being too close to a fire hydrant. Three other cars on the same street were parked much closer to fire hydrants than mine was. My car still with out of state plates was the only one that got towed. Months later, my car was shot with a gun. I drove to the NYPD station to report it. A 300-pound officer who could barely balance on a normal office chair much too small for her, asked "So what do you want me to do?" DO YOUR F'ING JOB is what I wanted to say. NYPD is the worst.

  13. I stopped watching Jimmy Dore when he was using the anti-gay slur "c***s*****" to refer angrily to right-wingers. Dore also would put out gossip or things he heard as if they were true and no one else was allowed to question his views. More recently, Jimmy Dore smeared AOC and the Squad, now referring to them as "The Fraud Squad". Jimmy Dore is dangerous to the progressive movment.

  14. There is a "non-political" YouTube channel called CyberCPU Tech. A few weeks ago, that guy posted a video which he claimed he did not want to be political about "gov't censorship". What was his evidence? The stupid Twitter Files! I called out his nonsense, but then he pushed back in the comments that the left-wing somehow hates free speech. I then pointed to Florida's "Don't Say Gay" law; he claimed that law does not even mention LGBT. So I posted text from the actual law which includes "sexual orientation and gender identity". He had no response to the actual truth based on facts.

  32. I can't speak on Canadian law, but in general a professional license is a privilege, not a right. That privilege comes with responsibilities. Some doctors who were touting fake covid "cures" had their licenses suspended due to the harm they were causing to society. Years ago in the San Francisco Bay Area, I went to a therapist when I was first coming out as a gay man. She would pray with me to try to make the gay go away. I trusted her. Yet, the fact that I was growing more and more depressed was of no concern to her. She had wanted me to pray away the gay. People like that should never be licensed.

  42. Viruses are DNA with some helper enzymes surrounded by a protein shell. The main way that viruses mutate is through replication errors when they spread. Getting everyone vaccinated so viruses cannot spread greatly reduces the possibility of variants which could cause even greater harm and at some point be resistant to the current vaccines. That is why young, healthy people should get vaccinated too.

When watching video of the attack, I noticed that there were no building alarms going off, no lights flashing, and no voices over a PA system telling members of congress and their staffs what to do. On 9/11, the USA was completely unprepared and there was no military response that day. Here we are almost 20 years later, and the USA still has no emergency response planning for a national attack.

Warren was a Republican until she was in her upper 40s. Buttigieg supported M4A before, but now he is for private insurance. Bernie Sanders is the real deal.

  50. The Squad are not stupid. Corporate Dems pull this crap time after time after time. The split the bill into two parts, 1. what they want and 2. what they only say they support. Corporate Dems know that the parts they want which support corporations will pass and the parts they don't want which support workers will never make it through the senate. That is why progressive Dems should NEVER vote for the pro-corporate parts. This isn't rocket science.
