This claim that the Government is doing nothing is tosh. The U.K. Government are providing extra HGV test slots. The training industry is expanding. There is even courses to encourage ex armed forces to train as drivers.
1
@lloydbelle3406 I remember those as a warning.
1
@obtuse1291 That is one of the reasons that people gave for voting leave. Unfortunately they have lumbered all of us with the consequences.
1
If Donald Trump has any real power in the world. He will get Putin the aggressor to withdraw and pay reparations.
1
@ Weak Biden couldn’t do it but. Strong Donald Trump will be able to. Tell Putin to get out of Ukraine and pay reparations.
1
I have a feeling our Nigel will continue being a professional victim.
1
Cannot see Sunak being worried. He is not the type.
1
Customs controls are a barrier to trade. They have just stopped the import of about £1.8 million of class A & B drugs going in Northern Ireland. Those drugs would have created a lot of economic activity & profit.
1
@vullings1968 I agree. But at least we can vote them out in a couple of years time. But I suppose that does rely on the majority feeling like we do.
1
@NorrinRaddNorrinRadd I don’t remember us having a second referendum. I only voted in one. Remember it well because I would be away from home & entered a postal vote. When did that second referendum happen ?
1
@NorrinRaddNorrinRadd I remember us voting to go into what became the EU I think it was called the Common Market at the time. Various treaties led us into what became the EU. We did not hold a referendum to take us into the EU. because it did not exist at that time. Thank you for thinking I am decades younger than I am. Please stop telling people that we had a referendum to join the EU because we did not. Also did you find insulting me really necessary.
1
@sUASNews If that is has been the way to go to make the best of a bad job. Good for you. Taking a problem & turning it into a solution.
1
If as some claim the U.K. is being invaded is that not a National Emergency ?
1
No nor me.
1
Donald doesn’t say much about Gaza. Used South as a distraction.
1
I excepted a free TV licence while it was available. But as someone pointed out. Age alone should not have qualified me for a free licence.
1
@snakeplissken526 It could also prejudice the defendants change of a fair hearing in front of magistrates. Who are effectively the jury.
1
@snakeplissken526 It may be worth you referring to the Black Belt Barrister’s Youtube video on the subject.
1
It’s the BBC,s job is to report.
1
@slayerrocks2 The Liberals and Greens don’t supply copy to the same extent. Where is the story about Elon Musk giving either of them $100 million dollars for a start.
1
This is what the country voted for. Even more so at the last General Election when Bo-Jo used the 'Get Brexit Done' mantra. I did not vote to leave but like the every one else I am stuck with it. I have decided to stop banging my head on the wall & just make the best of it.
1
Do I remember the US Administration taking a look at the U.K. reneging on the Northern Ireland Brexit agreement. Then say the U.K. has proven you can’t be trusted.
1
He has been an a Trump rally stage on YouTube in the last couple of weeks. Doing his isn’t Trump wonderful act and likening Reform to the MAGA movement. The comments section made it look like MAGA people are very anti U.K.
1
August 2023. Nearest Spoons used to be very busy 14.00 to 17.00hrs on a Friday. Not any more. Now no trouble getting a table & food arrives in no time. The Weatherspoon magazine does not mention Brexit whereas it used to push leave.
1
Is the Government increasing the precepts to the councils. Have I remembered that hotels started to be uses because especially Kent & East Sussex became overwhelmed with homeless asylum seekers.
1
@keithcannon5168 I do and over the years I’ve worked with some really dodgy but very successful used car sales people. Men and women.
1
One possible inaccuracy. It may not be Operation Stack. As far as I know that is no longer used. ( Finished 2020 ) It may be worth checking out Operation Brock. How much of this report is not 100 percent accurate. The BBC knows it’s Operation Brock.
1
What do the Australians call us. Is it Whinging Poms.
1
@mickreaddin4979 I would not know one if I saw one.
1
@gloin10 He did not keep the ground to air missile that took down the airliner. It killed people from many nations. Did President Putin say sorry ?
1
@michaellawrence7570 Our Nigel is out of the country. On stage with former President Trump & nowhere near Clacton.
1
Don’t all channels have all parties on speed dial ?

A relative who lives in Kent suggested that the reports of lorry queues are overblown. I took a look yesterday. Driving down the M20 I spotted signs for two pre customs paperwork check points. I called in at Stop 24 a motorway services & truck park. There is a purpose built paperwork check facility just inside the door from the lorry park. Three drivers were having their papers checked before they proceed to the port. Doing it that way problems can be solved before they even reach Dover. I then drove on down the M20/A20 before at about 15.00hrs turning right onto the A2 at the entrance to the port. How many lorries did I see queuing to get into the port. None. Perhaps it was a slow day but not a single lorry queuing to enter the port.
1
@flitsertheo We keep being told there are continual queues. I found that not to be the case.
1
@flitsertheo Things are not good. I did not think they would be so I voted stay. But can not forget that the majority voted leave with all the problems that would bring. Yes I agree that Sunday can well be a quieter day. But we are continually being fed the idea that there are massive queues to get into Dover Port. I saw a comment about a week ago were someone even claimed the queue stretched back thirty two miles. That would have meant the back of the queue would be around Madestone M20 Services. Seeing that & listening to my relative who lives in Kent I decided to make the effort & look for myself. From now on I am going to take claims of massive queues with a pinch of salt.
1
What doe the EU think about perhaps not having Not for EU labels.
1
Our Nigel took the stage at a Trump within the last two weeks. He was there spouting his isn’t Donald wonderful act. He also likened Reform to the MAGA movement.
1
Nigel’s victim mentality helped bring the U.K. to this. Apparently he is still at it.
1
The U.K. can vote which ever way it wants. But whatever you vote for how can it have a major effect on the boats heading your way. Why do your politicians make promises they must know they can’t keep. How can people believe them anymore.
1
@paulfulton7968 It was a U.K. wide vote. The U.K. voted leave. I voted stay.
1
@fredplat467 The way I heard it was that people did not mind that there would be difficulties & costs. They overall wanted sovereignty back. The people of Kent wanted their county back. Somehow thought it would stop people poring across the channel in small boats. I was not fussed about sovereignty & voted remain.
1
@OghamTheBold How on earth has the middle class win from Brexit. ? You mention Keele Uni. I could mention Warwick Uni. But without citation it’s meaningless.
1
@fredplat467 Plenty of people including me flagged up potential problems. We were classed as 'Project Fear'. Have you forgotten 'Project Fear.' The Weatherspoon magazine. Available on most tables in the eating area. Kept going on how not having to adhere to EU regulations would bring prices down. ( No mention of using ingredients not allowed in the EU. )
1
@fredplat467 I remember getting it in the neck for being part of ‘Project Fear’. Of course people on the leave side did not mention problems. Even said things to discredit others who were not keen. The leave people did their best to SELL the idea. First thing you learn on a sales course is. Don’t let the truth get in the way of a sale. The fact that people actually believed people like our Nigel & the ERG beggars belief. I know a couple who did not vote. Thought they did not need to because no one would fall for it.
1
How did they manage to arrive in Dover ? You can't board a ferry to the UK without passing through the UK border check post in Calais. Has someone been pulling your leg ?
1
@OghamTheBold Sorry I have not managed to grasp your meaning.
1
@OghamTheBold Sorry I have not been able to work on what you are referring to.
1
@OghamTheBold Please explain what that has to do with the northeast reportedly voting to leave the EU. ? I voted remain but I can’t see why over five years later are continually moaning rather than trying to made to best of a bad job. I for one am finding it’s becoming a bit tiresome.
1
@OghamTheBold If you had voted things might be different. Turns out that Nissan gave good advice. Pity you decided to come the awkward squad helping to shoot yourselves & others in the foot. Not sure you are are in a position to moan.
1
@malcolmwilkinson4449 Not sure kicking Kent is possible without without a change in the law. It would take sometime & it would make it harder to shift product in and out of the country. I am not sure how that would help the current situation. I feel confident you can put me right.
