Considering how inaccurately he portrays his first term, I doubt he remembers.

Did she also discuss Palmer's genitals? That would be...creepy.

This is putting us first. What's going on internationally right now will have far more profound effect on the country's future than our domestic issues.
2
Too hard. Making pointless proclamations is much easier and MAGA eats it up.

At least one of the dirty half-dozen grew a conscience and voted for a secular legal code rather than one based on spiritual/religious views. There's absolutely no objective argument to be made that a fetus is a "person" prior to at least viability/consciousness (~20 to ~25 weeks into a pregnancy) and thus entitled to individual rights under the constitution. There is however, a strong objective argument that this ruling allows states to violate the 13th amendment rights of women who do not wish to put their bodies through the strain of carrying a fetus and potentially giving birth. Doing so makes a woman's body do a great deal more work than it would otherwise and if that work is done against the woman's will, then it meets the definition of "involuntary servitude." Hopefully, as misdirected states (like mine unfortunately) try to take advantage of this flawed ruling, they will get hammered with 13th amendment challenges (along with the handful of other objective constitutional arguments to be made) and our legal code will move back towards being secular as the founding fathers intended.

And trade deficit increase, and layoffs, and the collapse of the agricultural industry...
2
Schumer chose his stock portfolio over the American people...big surprise.

The first two to arrive couldn't really do anything. The school district has it's own woefully understaffed and underequipped police department consisting of a chief, four officers, and a detective responsible for three schools and the district in general. They have no armor that can stop a high velocity rifle round and weren't armed for a shootout against such. All they could do was call for backup from a large well equipped force. Unfortunately, that backup dropped the ball...
2
@Will-lk9cs But their policies can greatly affect them...Are you just naive or intentionally disingenuous? Edit: nevermind, looking at your account, you're from some PAC so the answer is the latter.

He's a creepy old perv who likes checking out others' junk in the showers...
2
Not exactly sure how he'll legally justify it. Cities are not required to offer any assistance in federal jurisdiction matters. Which immigration is. I mean he's not a king or anything and his orders are still subject to the Constitution.
2
~20% paid bots at least in the first 50 comments on a local station... all pro-right. Sad. 0% left. If the cause is so righteous, why does the right have to buy votes?
2
They need to do what's best for the country. We have three branches of government for a reason.
2
@NomenClature-o8s How were they not qualified?
2
@macm2373 President can only pardon federal convictions. This was a state case.
2
Leave this country and never come back

The problem is bloated military contracts awarded by Congress and profited off of by people like Musk and Vivek. Not experienced personel. She can't fire any of the former (including herself) so how's she going to do her job?
2
@jebbrown2847 That's more than Vance showed up.
2
Stick to music man, you clearly have no clue about economics.

Quiet crowd...

Whichever team pays the most.

@rosessonata8326 By admitting he's that guy who checks out other people's junk in the showers and not only remembers it but brings it up in public years later after their dead...hilarious...

@jeremybackup5758 He was right. At the time the Constitution was written, "well regulated" generally meant "well trained." "Regulated" could have the meaning you give, but the phrase "well regulated" when used in legal documents etc. referred to training. To go a little deeper than that, the 2nd amendment was one of the last additions to the constitution before ratification. It's reason for existing originally had nothing to do with individual rights. It was a variation on laws found in English common law as well as some of the State constitutions. Those laws existed as a failsafe to prevent the king/federal government from being able to disarm regional/state militias. It was included in the constitution as a compromise to get anti-federalist delegates/states to ratify it. Individual rights (related to bearing arms) weren't really discussed at the time. Back then people identified with their state first and country second. Many states were wary of joining an agreement to form a federal government which could potentially dominate the states so they wanted an assurance that their official state (well trained) militias couldn't have their arms taken away by the federal government. The 2nd amendment essentially became obsolete with the end of the Civil War (if not before) as from then on, people identified with their country first and state second and a strong federal professional army became a thing while official state militias all but went extinct being replaced eventually by the national guard.

To the Republicans who voted yes, way to stand up to MAGA foolishness. Now, get the rest of your act together and help pass an actual budget.

About a couple hundred million so far.

Think again.

Worship that golden calf...

Remember what happened the last time people prayed for a golden calf...

Wow...when a heavily right wing biased organization like the WSJ is willing to report this, the veracity must be airtight and the story unavoidable.

Or just boot them. They are by far the most annoying member of NATO and have been since they joined. They like to play both sides a bit too often.

Pro forma session blocks recess appointments fascist

No further than they did for Denmark, Iceland, and Norway who entered as founding members with the same arrangement Sweden is asking for.
1
Get that practice in. You'll be saying the President misled the American people a lot from Jan 20 onward...
1
It must be nice being as wealthy as you...

Not really. Most Republican voters (as well as most Democrats) have absolutely no understanding of how their government functions at it's most basic level, let alone the intricacies involved in situations like this. Just because a representative supported him for the position, it doesn't mean they did so to spite their constituents. It simply means they know that, even with his slightly less than 50% support from Republican voters, he still had far more support than any other potential individual challenger and therefor was the only feasible option with a chance at getting enough votes. Since a newly seated House cannot conduct any other business until a speaker has been elected, holding out with no better alternative would essentially mean paralyzing the House (as well as the Senate indirectly) indefinitely and most likely end with him eventually being elected anyway (likely with more leverage than he currently has.) In general, that would be undesirable. Thus the pragmatic choice for a Republican House member would be to trade their support for some compromises and limitations on the positions power so that the situation can be resolved with McCarthy the Speaker being a much different/weaker version than the version Republican voters based their views on.

If Trump had the power he claims, then Biden does too and could simply issue a standing order to reclassify anything Trump took with him. In reality, it doesn't even matter. There's a law that prohibits the removal or destruction of classified documents which have not been officially marked declassified and none of the documents Trump had were so marked. Making each one in his possession a felony. Even if you do buy the legitimacy of his bs claim about having a standing order to declassify it all.

@dart1806 They weren't offered everything at that point and to avoid having to get a search warrant for a former President, they made a deal with his lawyers to continue negotiations for the remainder as long as they were kept under better security in the meantime. Not long after that, Trump and his lawyers attempted an ill conceived power play by refusing to return the FBI's calls. Apparently, they were betting on the FBI/DoJ not having the balls to actually seek and execute a search warrant on a former President. They were wrong and learned the hard way when not only did they get the warrant, they executed it very publicly. Apparently Garland has read Trump's joke of a book and recognized the "don't call us, we'll call you" power play for what it was... and was not amused. Edit: Both the National Archivist and the FBI/DoJ bent over backwards to accomodate former President Trump in this matter and he repaid them with petty games. Eventually, the hammer had to come down. Trump did this to himself and deserves no sympathy.

~0.6% of the population identifies as transgender. 14,000 would be a little less than 0.6% of the military. Sounds about right to me.

Turkey is pulling their usual extortion bs. NATO will buy them off somehow... They are by far the most annoying member.
1
You're fascists and you will be defeated eventually. Fascists always are.
1
Shutting the government down over the pointless "save act" would only hurt Trump's campaign. Even many Republicans know that act is useless political gamesmanship.

@paulhingorani4791 The charges were over falsified financial records to cover the payment...

Correction: Uneducated Citizen. Fixed it for you.

Uneducated America stands behind him. There, fixed it for you.

@mercifulterros5030 and their infrastructure dissolves in the rain... assuming it even gets completed while many of their people starve. I'd rather not live in such a country personally.

And dream of Arnold Palmer's genitals...

You have to remember, the majority of the population aren't edgy internet kids who never grew up. Poorly skilled "comedians" who use this kind of humor aren't interesting or funny to them. Just sad.

@chriscalderin6677 As an advisor only. The VP can't order anyone to do anything. She observed and advised. Ultimately, it was up to Biden and Congress to actually do something. Congress especially since anything beyond usual will require extra funding approval and potentially changes to the law. Also, remember who it was that ordered his Republicans to stop the bi-partisan border security bill solely for campaign purposes.

@TheBlockerNator No votes were suppressed. There was a printing error with some batches of the ballots which caused the scanners in the tabulation machines to reject them. All of the affected ballots were hand counted. A certain political party which didn't fare well in the areas where the problem occurred has been using it as an excuse to pressure officials in said areas into refusing to certify their counts. Sore losers are sore losers.
