Well we buy the drugs, so technically we're responsible for 100%... just saying.

@HaCheckmate An executive order is simply an order to an executive agency(s) to use the powers vested them to uphold existing laws/protections. There are many legal aspects involved that the rogue five justices of SCOTUS missed (or more likely intentionally ignored) with their ruling which various agencies can still attempt to enforce. It would be better if done as a separate order, but the 13th amendment's protection against involuntary servitude (which abortion bans violate as hundreds of prior rulings from various courts have considered carrying and giving birth as a form of work) could come into play for example.
1
No one's breaking the law. State and local authorities are well within their legal rights under the Constitution to refuse to assist in law enforcement operations outside their jurisdiction. Which immigration is.

Nobody would pay to see his saggy old moobs...

It's a Texas judge... They're always making ignorant decisions that get tossed as soon as a real judge hears the appeal. Let the doofus have his 15 minutes of fame and then return to being irrelevant.
1
@magellanmax He's bluffing. His childish vague threats early on towards countries who might interfere along with his new threats are the giveaway. You only threaten from a weak position. It's so obvious that it's actually a bit insulting that he'd think anyone could take him seriously. The world should simply ignore him and countries friendly with Ukraine should, if capable, start sending troops and air power to assist in their defense. When bluffed, you raise the pot, not call (and definitely not fold.)
1
It's not going to matter for long. Someone will be intelligent enough to challenge one of the state's bans on the grounds that it violates the 13th amendment's prohibition of involuntary servitude. When they do, that'll be the end of it as that protection indirectly protects abortion rights.

Even though it was expected, the death of the country still hurts.

With Musk's history of selling user data from X and leaking private messages when he has a hissy fit, only fools would trust him with access to their financial records. Especially, with no background check or oversight.
1
The camera for that footage is not part of the scientific instruments for the mission. So they kept it simple. The mission uses infrared cameras and some spectrometers.
1
It was an easy case for the DA/prosecutor to pad their records with by tacking on every little charge they could think of...

So he gets beaten by Israeli terrorists and arrested for getting beaten... Why do we support that country again?

You should see what his coworkers had to say about his behavior. There are good reasons why he was forced to step down as head of the veterans organizations he ran. The man is a raging alcoholic, womanizer, and Muslim hater.
1
Israel doesn't want to stop. They may never get a better opportunity to drive the Palestinians out and replace them with Israeli interests.
1
The judge had no choice. The sentences were mandatory (mandatory minimums.) It's the DA/prosecutor who deserve some scorn for stacking so many charges just to pad their records knowing that they had consecutive sentences.

A historic cave...

If you watch the video from people at the protests, most were peaceful. ICE instigated a lot of the violence due to their lack of discipline, training, and leadership in the field. Homan runs a very sloppy ship.
1
Only because Trump had a fondness for the taste of Kim Jong-Un's c*ck and sucked it anytime the opportunity arose...

Hopefully. Unlike most of their generation, they at least have the will to make a stand on principle. The majority of their generation are useless unmotivated crybabies.
1
He's bluffing. Raise the pot and he'll fold. The Russian military and people in general are not going to let him do something so stupid over something so unnecessary and he knows it. Ignore him and start sending troops and air power to Ukraine to assist in their defense. All countries friendly with Ukraine should immediately expel all Russian diplomats, freeze any Russian assets they may have and cease all trade with Russia. No diplomatic or economic interaction whatsoever should occur until every Russian soldier is out of Ukraine.
1
Clearly, Israel does not want their hostages back... No surprise there.
1
They go through a background check and have oversight. Musk already keeps X afloat by selling user data to all buyers, has a history of pitching hissy fits and leaking people's private messages, and refused to be audited himself of go through a background check... and has no oversight to keep him honest.
1
If Trump had stayed that long, his treasonous attempt to sabotage NATO and US interests in Europe by closing command centers and bases in Germany would have been completed and we wouldn't be capable of responding to things like this at all...
1
Those in question were here under an asylum program so they were here legally until Trump ended the program...
1
So if Homan tries to force cities to assist in federal jurisdiction operations which they have the legal right to refuse to do, you'll be OK with him being held accountable for violating the law?
1
@vkrajuk Don't be. Pooty's bluffing (poorly.) His position is too weak for him to be taken seriously and neither the Russian military or people are going to allow him to do anything as stupid as go nuclear over a failed bluff.
1
@MsSeeingeagle Actually, Congress didn't get the raise in the final bill.

Under his tenure, the Dow has gone up over 20k points. Under Trumpinomics, it has gone down 4k... hmm...

When faced with the absurd, laughter is as legitimate of a response as any other.

BiBi's already a wanted war criminal, what would one more international crime added to the list matter?

Yep

@UnkklRico Finding new and creative ways to violate the Constitution and his oath.

Someone who bluffs as poorly as old Pooty deserves a good kick from time to time...

@kavustock Going from and idiot to an arrogant tyranical a** will not help us any.

@annabellelee4535 Actually, if Biden really were pro choice (he's not), he'd issue an executive order to the DoJ et al to simply enforce the 13th amendment's protection against involuntary servitude in states that issue abortion bans. The rogue five of SCOTUS said abortion rights aren't directly protected under the constitution. All the while knowing that they are indirectly protected. We'll just have to wait until someone in a state with a ban challenges on those grounds instead to get over this nonsense. They can roll their eyes all they want, but they'll have to ignore the constitution and hundreds if not thousands of prior ruling from various courts which consider carrying and giving birth a form of work to allow states to arbitrarily revoke a constitutional protection. If they go that rogue, they'll lose what little legitimacy they still have.
1
They're both right.

@Jason_556 Placating an aggressive dictator early on when they were sniping territory rather than taking a strong stand is what led to WWII kid.
1
Still not worth 110 years. Thanks to the DA/prosecutor using this case to pad their records with all the tacked on charges, going through the Governor is the only way to do anything about it. Unfortunately, all the Governor can do is commute or grant clemency. They can't arbitrarily set a more appropriate sentence. Personally, I think he deserves punishment but I'm signing anyway simply because the sentence is not in the spirit of the law and no other option to try to get it altered.
1
If he'd just issue one directing the Justice Department et al to enforce the 13th amendment's protection against involuntary servitude in states implementimg abortion bans he could. That would force the issue back before SCOTUS and there really isn't a Constitutional rebuttal to that one. Abortion is indirectly protected by it. Women can't be forced to do work against their will and there's tons of rulings where the courts have considered carrying and giving birth to be work.
1
Good riddance to bad rubbish.
1
Punish them for what? Immigration is federal jurisdiction, not local. Cities are fully within their rights to refuse to assist in such matters. Donald Trump is not a king, and his executive orders are still bound by the Constitution.
1
She can win a trade war with the US. Even the Mexican military has trouble with the cartels.
1
Just like his first term... spend, spend, spend, like it' going out of style. This will end up costing well over $1T, assuming they want it to actually work and not just be a joke like the border wall. Like the border wall, it's probably just meant to make him and his buddies money at taxpayer expense.
1
Finally, getting to Hegseth's root issue. Alcoholism. The stuff his coworkers had to say about his behavior that you left out of this report is just attrocious

Any true American would be sickened by the outcome even though it was expected.
