Because he's running for President in 2028.
2
They had to show the same ID etc. they would have to vote in the main election. Unless you're against early voting entirely, I don't see the issue. The Constitution gives states power over handling elections. One of the few rights they have left.
2
"Our nation ensures the rule of law prevails." Too bad the same can't be said for our President...
2
There have been a lot of misleading headlines etc. concerning the Remington Arms offer. They only offered factory space. Finding workers to both retool and then operate the plant would be Cuomo's responsibility. Since his office has no authority to conscript workers, he'd have to rely on volunteers. The President however does have the power to essentially force the company to retool and do the manufacturing themselves. The latter would be the better approach.
2
@davidclark1566 There's plenty of corrupt Dems. Just none as foolish as Trump when it comes to hiding it (or as delusional.)
2
Being outnumbered and surrounded doesn't mean you're under siege...it just means you're outnumbered and surrounded.
2
They're not in the White House yet.
2
The judge gave Trump far more leeway than any of us would have received, and put up with a ridiculous amount of bs from his lawyers and witnesses He even went so far as to remove the jury before having to deal with a partucularly disrespectful witness so that it wouldn't cause jury bias, and Trump supporters are calling him corrupt and want him removed from the bench? It doesn't get much more delusional than that... seek help people, you're acting and thinking like cultists and things rarely end well for such.
2
Yep, Trump's built in excuse for losing. He's made it pretty obvious by his behavior over the past year that's he's tired of being President. He doesn't want the religious nutters turning on him for walking away so he came up with some prophetic sounding bs, faked an illness, and is taking himself a vacation rather than deal with the hassle of the election. The man's true genius has always been getting what he wants then getting out while the gettin's good...leaving others to clean up the mess.
2
Not anymore. At least not in Pennsylvania. He's already betrayed them and he's not even taken office yet.
2
And it should.
2
Trump was lucky. Under him, the same number of people were crossing the border but doing so by sneaking in rather than turning themselves in at the border like they are now. Those who sneak in disperse across the country and avoid the current problem of being heavily concentrated in an area that can't properly handle it. Moving some to facilities on our other border is pretty much a necessity if we're going to allow asylum seekers to remain here while their requests are pending. They'll still be in custody so it's not like we won't know where they are...
2
Or just move to Austin. The only place in the state that isn't a complete sh*thole...
2
SCOTUS is a court of law, not public opinion. Any line up of justices, past or present, would have handled the election cases the same way. They were tossed because they were either far too weak or lacked legal standing. It's that simple. Those who want changes should focus on the individual states. That's where the Constitution intended the majority of election issues to be handled. SCOTUS is meant to stay as far out of it as possible.
2
This bill spends less over it's time period than any of Trump's budgets did his first term... and that's without factoring in inflation. And it doesn't give him a blank check to spend us into oblivion again. Good bill.
2
The leaked ruling proves that the majority of them apparently aren't very smart to begin with... While the argument in favor of the original decisions weren't that legally sound, there are other constitutional arguments that are and they know it. Their other excuse...er... "argument" was that public opinion had changed on the issue. For starters, the law isn't about public opinion. Were public opinion to matter concerning the law and those who make/interpret it, then they should toss both Congress and themselves out as well since the approval rating of both are currently lower than the percentage of the population who think abortion with some restrictions should be legal (SCOTUS ~40%, Congress ~20%, abortion with some restrictions ~48%.)
2
People really should look up articles she's written, interviews, etc. before hopping on her bandwagon...
2
@ishtarlew598 The billionaires pocket the tax breaks and raise prices to hire/pay more. In the end the working class does not improve it's wealth, while the upper class just get richer. In other words, they just live off of our backs.
2
@jonathanfarley2023 They were doing their jobs. The National Archivist went to them with concerns that former President Trump had violated the Presidential Records Act along with the discovery of classified documents that shouldn't have been removed from government custody mixed in with the small amount of documents he did send in. They in turn, started an investigation which eventually led to executing a search warrant due to Trump's refusal to turn over all of the documents being sought. As for the guns, law enforcement at all levels go armed when executing search warrants (especially if there's any concerns for national security involved.)
2
It's much ado about nothing. Packing the court will cost them the votes of left leaning/centrist independents and many moderate democrats. Which would, in turn, likely cost them their majorities in Congress and ultimately the WH. They may float the idea around and possibly take a half-assed shot at it for misdirection purposes but going after it in earnest is not strategically sound and thus doing so is very low priority.
2
@thomasdonner2495 PA was the only state where there's even a remote argument that they didn't go through all the proper hoops and SCOTUS declined hearing that case. This bs from the Texas AG is just that...bs. He knows it and so does SCOTUS.
2
Going by one of the executive orders he wrote, he doesn't even know what a woman is...
2
@Brianmoniz_cryptozoology Like Musk's "efficiency" system worked at Twitter? Cheap doesn't equal efficient. Cheap equals cheap.
2
It's going to be fun watching Fox contort themselves trying to normalize Trump's chaotic madness... good luck guys.
2
Personally, I'm not a fan of tyrants. I think I'll vote for those who had the wisdom to know that it's not the government's place to criminalize things based solely on subjective beliefs.
2
I'm so sure... They can estimate the number sneaking in at whatever they want.
2
Keep dreaming. Georgia will stay with Biden as will the rest of the states he won.
2
Yet he continually cries whenever people don't treat him with kid gloves, lob him only softball questions, worship him like a messiah, etc. and generally resorts to calling such folk names. He's a little boy in a big man suit and just like his first four years, if he somehow gets elected, he'll spend the entire time crying and pitching tantrums over people not being nice to him.
2
Lol, says the cult channel... Keep up your delusions kids.
2
Those numbers would rise even higher if more people would actually bother reading the bill.
2
You don't do a voter purge this late in. It's something you do in the offseason. Trying it was a little underhanded to begin with.
2
This hack should stick to chasing ambulances. He obviously has no clue when it comes to Constitutional law. Regardless, I hope he demanded one hell of a retainer. Trump has a nasty habit of stiffing his lawyers.
2
If you live in a red state, then New York is one of the nine blue states whose taxpayers pay for a large portion of your federal benefits.
2
No need to. Trump's fraudulent attempt to sabotage the USPS and then discourage his supporters from voting by mail hoping to cripple his opponent's chances ended up backfiring and costing him the election. Why complain about an opponent's unethical acts when said acts actually benefit you?
2
@stanleywheeler404 So far, it has killed ~2%/3% of those infected. The rest suffer minor to severe flu-like symptoms. If it were engineered to be weapon, the team that did so should find a new line of work as they obviously suck at their current one...
2
There was nothing for them to do about the elections. They're a court of law, not public opinion. The cases they were presented were either too weak or had no legal standing. Besides, they're meant to stay as far out of election issues as possible. To get them involved requires a very strong case. Short of that, they will defer election issues to the States.
2
They don't need to dig. Articles she's written supporting making legal decisions based on religious beliefs speak for themselves.
2
Had they taken any of the cases, they would have immediately (and correctly) dismissed them for lack of standing/evidence. They merely skipped an unnecessary step by not picking them up to begin with.
2
Playing stupid games often ends up with your family partaking of the stupid prizes you win...
2
@breezybreeze12 Say his political opponents twisting soundbytes. Grow up.
2
Trump made that decision for them when he signed the executive order removing liability protection from social media. If they can be sued directly for content they allow, then they have to be able to censor their content. That puts them where they've always been, squarely in the private sector where freedom of speech isn't protected. Ironically, Trump's hissy fit over being censored is the very reason he signed an ex order which will force social media to further censor their content for legal protection.
2
He's seems like a relatively capable ambulance chaser. He was probably intelligent enough to at least demand a large retainer up front...He is working for Trump though, so intelligence might not be his strong suit.
2
The Russian air force is a joke these days. Inconsistent training, poor maintenance, and unnecessarily complicated designs have taken their toll over the years. Edit: Their A-10 clone is about the only thing they have that performs well but even it is unnecessarily complicated (especially compared to the original) and prone to maintenance problems as well.
2
What's funny is that even if he did verbally declassify all of what he had, he still committed a crime by sending the documents to Mar-a-Lago. There's a law that documents still marked as classified cannot be removed from government custody/destroyed/etc. until they have been officially marked as declassified. That applies even if they've been verbally declassified by the President. None of the classified documents he had in his possession had been officially marked as declassified. Thus all were in his possession illegally.
2
He worked ~25 to ~30 hr./week at Wendy's and started in February. His co-workers said he told them he was saving up to buy guns and that he quit (no two week notice) after claimimg he had reached his goal. I don't know what his pay rate was but in my area (which has a pretty low cost of living) fast food pays at least $10/hr and ~$12/hr on average. He was living with family so he had no room and board costs and he also received some money as a birthday present. Coming up with ~$4,000 over the period he was employeed would be feasible.
2
There is but unless the individual set foot on one of the prohibited properties or impeded travel to and from said property, it's pretty much unenforceable due to it's vague wording. It uses "in or near" but doesn't give a specific distance for "near." Also, most constitutional law experts doubt it would survive a challenge due to parts of it most likely being in violation of the 1st amendment.
2
@hanshansen3885 It's a moot point unless an individual sets foot on one of the prohibited properties or impedes travel to of from those properties. The lack of a specific distance defining the "near" bit of "in or near" pretty much makes it unenforceable.
2
Hannity doesn't pass for journalism to the majority of Americans. Most see him for the sycophant he is.
2
Once former President Trump has been convicted of violating the Presidential Records Act (and likely many other things if his arrogance won't let him cut a deal), how are you going to explain it to your audience? They may be completely ignorant of the various laws and procedures involved with all of this but you're not. You and everyone at Fox know that the investigation is completely legitimate and that Trump has made a mess which no one can save him from this time. Rather than try to spark a civil war, maybe you should start preparing your audience to accept the cold hard truth about the man, what he's done, and why he will likely never be able to hold public office again.
2
SCOTUS is a court of law, not public opinion. They did their job properly concerning the election. If you don't like it, get over it or leave.
