The majority of the world would simply see their leader choose a side and unleash the country's law enforcement/military on those supporting the other.
1
You don't elect the person who put the tacks on the road in the first place, that's for sure. Trump never intended to win in 2020. He knew the messes he made would be a nightmare with no good fixes and intentionally threw the election to leave it to someone else. His plan was to spread lies about a stolen election for sympathy votes in 2024. All he cares about is going down in history as a two term President. If re-elected, he has no plans. He'll do nothing but blame the left for everything and then ride off into the sunset without caring one bit for anyone other than himself.
1
@markc1456 <----And there's the fascist...
1
He had to come here. Canada doesn't allow convicted felons to enter the country. Trump literally can't go to Canada.
1
@bobmiller7103 I you do your research, Mexico has been breaking up those large caravans for awhile now. They made an agreement with the US to do so earlier this year. Trump, as usual, was just trying to take credit for other people's work...and looking for an excuse not to go through with his stupid tariff bluff.
1
If it's forced, yes.
1
Walkouts aren't illegal.
1
@jimmyg645 That's not really relevant when it comes to the legality of the walkout but to answer the question, no. Their $221 per diem pay should be docked until they return.
1
@jimmyg645 I agreed that their pay should be docked until they return. That said however, an argument can be made that they are doing the job their constituents hired them to by preventing this bill (which the majority of their constituents are against) from coming to a vote. Walkouts serve a similar purpose at the state level that the filibuster does at the federal level. They're both used by the minority party to block a vote. Even Abraham Lincoln participated in one early in his political career. It's not exactly an illegitimate tactic.
1
Not if he keeps pulling childish stunts like this.
1
It matters. Of all people, I never thought Dick Cheney would ever endorse a Democratic candidate. It tells me Trump has Trump has alienated even more than just the moderates and centrists of what used to be the Republican party.
1
@GH-cd6oq and even Trump's too far right for him...
1
What would you do as President of a country split ~50\50 on which side to support?
1
And he should be. As should all moderate and centrist Republicans. Trump's persecution and purging of that demographic of his own party shows that he has no place in his vision of America for the center or the left. It's far right or you're a second class citizen.
1
Those being attacked deserve every bit of it and more. It takes a sick. twisted mind to think that it's acceptable to deny a woman her right to the 13th amendment's protection from involuntary servitude. Active anti-choice people are nothing but holier than thou virtue signaling scum. The decent folk of this country have never tried to force your ilk to have abortions and have grudgingly put up with your inane religious babble against the practice. What have we received in return? You murder doctors and nurses for doing their jobs. You use your lobbying groups to buy/corrupt our government and thus the highest court in the land, and then you cry foul whenever you get called on your bullsh*t. You anti-choice people are the ones that wanted a war, not the pro-choice. Well now you're going to get what you wanted and you're just going to have to deal with it.
1
@MarkDillard-t7f That's rich coming from a paid bot sitting on their butt somewhere doing a meaningless job...
1
A whole fleet of them.
1
It's also comical that they are legal immigrants protected from being snatched up by the law of the land. He's pandering for votes with lies here and you fell for it.
1
Only if you want the Dems to win again.
1
If the taking of personal rights would end there maybe not. It won't. Unless nipped in the bud now, the right will continue to try and turn this country into a pseudo theocracy. The exact thing it was created not to be. It's an existential issue for the country and thus very important. Followed by the housing crisis and corporate price gouging of necessities. Issues the Republican party won't even acknowledge exist and simply laugh at any who do while calling them communists.
1
Biden's been visible and doing his job. The news just has their cameras pointed elsewhere. Besides, there's nothing he can do about this. He'd have to pull SS off of their current duties and/or get additional funds from Congress. Neither of those need to happen. If the former President wants to ignore his current detail's warnings and do unnecessarily dangerous things, he can provide his own supplemental security with campaign or personal funds.
1
@NakedSageAstrology Nope. Congress would have to provide additional funding for such protection for Trump. It's not absorbable under the current SS budget.
1
How much do you get paid per propaganda comment?
1
So Trumpublicans account for 13.25% to 20.6% of Americans...meh.
1
You're wasting your time. The people happy about this outcome are "adults" who will accept an excuse from their former President that they wouldn't accept from a child. "They got away with it, why can't I?" They'll have plenty of time to think about what they've done though. The right will be politicaly irrelevant for at least a decade now thanks to the split they caused. Assuming it survives at all.
1
Texas might be better off putting them to work helping to fix their pathetic power grid...
1
There won't be time before the election for a legal team to build a suit and he'll drop the matter shortly afterwards. This is just a ploy to appear "innocent" up until the election to all those who still refuse to actually look at the evidence.
1
Was. No hospital will have him since he started selling snake oil.
1
@stephaniekerr You do know that from 2000 up until the Hamas attack, the IDF killed close to 1,000 Palestinian civilians per year on average in Gaza. Throw in those killed in the West Bank over that period and that yearly average surpasses the number of civilians killed/taken hostage by Hamas on Oct. 7th...when it comes to murdering women and children, Israel makes Hamas look like amateurs.
1
Trump set the table for most of the problems faced over the past four years with shortsightedness and inaction during his easy four years in office and has yet to say how he plans to fix things if elected this time around. Until he comes up with something feasible to offer, he should not be considered Presidential material. Any jack @ss with extreme charisma can run an attack campaign. Beyond middle school student council elections however, such campaigns should never be enough to win the majority of votes.
1
Probably because he pulled a Kennedy and overruled them on their safety protocol. Which he's had a habit of doing ever since he was in office.
1
@lady2550 There was no way for any of them (especially Trump) to know that the situation was safe. Only an idiot would do what he did, and anyone who would respect an idiot for being and idiot...well...
1
Walkouts aren't illegal.
1
@Blurb777 I'd agree with you were the deck not intentionally stacked against such legal entry based entirely on political whim toward various nationalities and the process not unnecessarily far more time consuming than in the past solely for the purpose of hoping they'll either be dead before it's complete or they'll just give up rather than wait seven to ten years. The current system just plays games with people's lives for no good reason. Also, many of those Trump claims are here illegally are asylum seekers and as such did come here legally and are in the country legally. If he has a problem with the time it takes to process their requests to determine if they stay or go, then he can complain to a mirror because it was his own policies that led to an astronomical spike in the immigration court backlog slowing things down. By international agreement, asylum seekers are to be kept on the "safe" side of the border until their request is processed.
1
He's alive in spite of his decision to go against his detail's warning that the course he chose for his unscheduled game was not secure. It would take a small army to secure a golf course on short notice. If he wants that, he can pay for it. Especially if he's going to ignore his taxpayer provided security.
1
How about long time red senators and representatives cut down on the deficit between the money spent on their states and the money collected from their states? They perpetually keep their people in poverty by not encouraging economic growth and just using the taxpayers of other states to subsidize them.
1
The National Guard approach would be a far more effective use of the money being wasted on building this wall (and maintaining it in the future.) People have been easily climbing over/tunneling under the completed parts since they were built. These Senators know it's a waste of money compared to it's effectiveness and are just playing the situation for votes.
1
Nah, this is just a ploy. There isn't time for a legal team to prepare a suit prior to the election and afterward, it won't matter either way. However far it gets before then, he'll drop it shortly after.
1
@Magravated The deadlines would never survive SCOTUS. Edit: They would put unnecessary hardships on areas with high population density which would lead to rushed, inaccurate counts. Since said areas also happen to be the bluest parts of your state, there would be a very strong case for party based voter suppression.
1
Doing his job.
1
What were they thinking? Milei? Really? I guess it's true. Musk really is an idiot with a chainsaw... and like Milei all that will be left behind is worthless sawdust.
1
Both she and RFK will be discarded as soon as convenient to Trump. If he somehow pulls off a win. They'll be on the "transition" team and then gone. More likely, he loses and partially blames them for not bringing him the votes he paid them to.
1
Trump has no clue how to fix the economy...He could definitely make it worse though. You have to remember that he's a con artist, not a businessman. He knows how to play some loopholes in the tax code and make himself money at the expense of others. He does not know how to make himself and others successful at the same time.
1
Because all he's done since working for Trump is lie and scheme you mean.
1
He's not the same person he once was. All he does is lie and scheme since working for Trump. Trump seems to have that effect on people.
1
No legal license...
1
Straight to hell
1
Because she was a dumb*ss and tried to enter the hallway through the hole in the glass despite multiple warnings that anyone doing so would be shot. That hallway was one of the planned potential evacuation routes for Congress members, the Vice President, etc. and those defending it were the rear guard of one such evacuation. Their job was to prevent any of the insurrectionists from entering and that's what they did.
1
@snoopreport672 If nothing else, an angry mob doesn't need to be armed to be a threat worthy of lethal force. If you let any of them through simply because they don't have a visible weapon, you have to let them all through. Which would negate the whole purpose of having secure evacuation routes in the first place. They gave her more leeway to save herself than they were really required to in that situation with their multiple warnings. Ultimately, she let mob mentality overpower her ability to reason and it cost her her life. It's sad, but that's the risk you take when you allow yourself to become part of an angry mob. If you truly believe your argument and aren't just trolling, there are still plenty of countries in this world that are lawless and chaotic enough to make falling to mob rule a legitimate possibility (and in some cases, an inevitability.) Perhaps you should consider relocating to one of them.
