Too humane. It's more fitting to just let them suffer the slow agonizing death they've brought upon their party with their unethical behavior.
1
@FilmFlam-8008 Don't be so sure. They're economy hasn't been this good in over a decade now that their population is getting closer to what it was before ~30,000 people left well before any immigrants showed up.
1
We've already got enough attention seeking brats in Congress. We don't need more. Especially not one for whom childishly grandstanding for votes is more important than the health of his colleagues.
1
Many who voted for him were voting for the Democratic platform not Biden in particular. The hope being that, unlike the previous President, this administration would put qualified people on their cabinet/at the heads of various agencies and actually let those people do their jobs. Also, the left moved away from creating cults of personality around their Presidents following JFK's time in office and therefor know enough not to put much weight in what they have to say concerning fields they aren't experts in.
1
Sadly, they're still more patriotic than immature children who have hijacked the right. No self respecting adult would accept the "they got away with it, why can't I?" defense from their own kids, much less a President. Have fun looking yourselves in the mirror over the next couple of decades while the left controls the country. If enough of you grow up, you might become politically relevant again by then...
1
They already have too many (what should have been avoidable) expenses to deal with thanks to their power grid fiasco. They don't need to waste more on that silly wall. People have been easily climbing over/tunneling under the completed parts since they were built. Considering the cost versus effectiveness of it, they (and/or the federal government) would be much better off reevaluating the border situation and finding a more effective use for that money.
1
He doesn't need, or care, about us. He intentionally threw the 2020 election because he didn't want to deal with all of the messes he made/did nothing to pre-emptively thwart during his first term. Now he wants to ride in, do nothing intelligent, blame it all on his opponents, and get his name in the history books as a two term President for his ego...using his power to avoid prison if allowed. You can have him. The majority of us will pass.
1
A reminder. Any commenter with a - and then random letters and numbers after their name is a paid "bot". The bit after the name is their pay code. Ignore them or point them out for what they are but take nothing they say seriously.
1
By destabilizing NATO and throwing our rapid response hub in Germany (for both European and Middle East action) into chaos, he directly encouraged a rise in terrorist activity. Not only that, Putin would never have considered invading Ukraine without Trump's intentional sabotage efforts. How dare him try to use his "lack of terrorism" as part of his campaign. He should be ashamed of himself.
1
That comment won't age well.
1
The evidence provided in the article is overwhelming...
1
Probably a representative of the GOP they're willing to sacrifice to the MAGA mob in order to get their message across to Robinson publicly. This comes after multiple NC news stations reported that many tech people supporting Robinson have offered to help him clear his name but he refused to accept.
1
@ohmymcmc lol... no he wasn't. JFK was doing everything he could to get himself unalived. For the months leading up to it, he had been constantly overruling their safety protocols. It finally caught up with him as desired.
1
They should vacate their thrones...er...benches after a generation at least. By then they've lost touch with the active generations and can no longer properly represent them in their interpretations. Law, unfortunately, is an art, not a science, and artist tastes change over time.
1
There's a difference between wanting it closed (open to legit traffic of course) and thinking that doing so will ever be feasible (it won't anytime soon if at all.) There are more efficient/beneficial approaches that could be made concerning the immigration issue but they would likely have to be bipartisan and it doesn't look like that will happen anytime soon.
1
House arrest with the same general restrictions that are given to prisoners (especially when it comes to internet use/leisure activities.)
1
It's a silly topic. Giving out such information can only help Putin. Those who need to know, know. We can wait.
1
It will matter greatly for us over time.
1
@_Rick___Grimes_ MAGA and Trump support weak appeasement and isolationism...because none of them paid attention in history class.
1
@Genethagenius The state decision is idiotic. For starters, they're invoking the 14th amendment to do something it can't even do to begin with. Nowhere is being on a ballot mentioned. One can't hold office or be the elector to the office (essentially be declared the President elect by Congress) but nothing prohibits being on a ballot. Beyond that, their ruling invokes the 14th amendment which is a federal law and must be applied equally to all. It cannot be invoked by individual states. Now, if Colorado had a similar law in their state constitution then this could potentially be legit. They don't have such a law.
1
He's done an excellent job. It's takes dedicated effort to raise one's state's number of covid cases 10% higher than the national average.
1
@papawheelie5576 The only significant differences between he and Trump is his lesser charisma and net worth. Beyond that and some relatively unimportant differences in policy, DeSantis is essentially just a younger, less skilled version of Trump only with a bit more mental stability and slightly less ego.
1
@bayly1977 far more than just his user name. He used a lot of accurate information in his public profile as well.
1
Yep, they've successfully protected themselves from the urban vote in the states whose Republican led legislatures are passing anti-urban voting laws...not exactly something to be proud of.
1
@lisechristensen4714 Exactly, the city needed the expanded workforce and consumer base to replace what it had lost over the years prior to the immigrants coming in. If they want to work and live there when many Americans clearly don't, more power to them. The growing pains with the schools, hospitals, etc. will get fixed once they can leverage the economic growth to do so.
1
People have been easily climbing over/tunneling under the completed parts since they were built. Compared to it's cost (including future upkeep) versus efectiveness, the wall will be a waste of money. These Senators are just playing for some political capital. The border situation needs to be reevaluated to find a more effective use for the money.
1
Up until the election is over. Then he'll drop it either way.
1
Your point? Anytime a head of state or similar dies in office, it is customary for other nations and the UN to send condolences. International relations are never going to smooth out if everyone keeps choosing to be petty in such situations.
1
Well, the Republicans in Congress just voted down a bill securing IVF rights for Americans when their leader is out there pretending to support such rights...so maybe it's better for the Republicans that he didn't mention it.
1
@alwaysinmyheart8639 Intentionally spreading lies/disinformation and secret backroom attempts to pressure a state's election officials into altering the vote total goes a wee bit further than simply questioning the result.
1
Israel is a sovereign nation and thus under no legal obligation to allow an outside investigation.
1
We wear masks primarily to limit the amount of respiratory droplets exhaled and thus lessen the spread of it by those who are infected and don't realize it or who can't remain quarantined. Taking his off like that is the equivalent of saying he doesn't care about possibly putting everyone there at risk.
1
@chaseviking5096 This attention seeking manchild of a politician was perfectly capable of wearing a mask and, unlike you, I guarantee you he's well aware of the effectiveness of doing so and knew that taking his off wouldn't affect his chances of catching the disease enough to worry about but would increase the risk to others if he happened to be infected (surgical masks may only prevent the inhalation of as little as ~20% of respiratory droplets but as long as both the nose and mouth are covered, they at least catch ~70% of those exhaled by the wearer...~95+% if worn perfectly. There are tons of studies going back decades on it.) Why do you think surgeons wear them? This douchebag taking his off like that is the equivalent of flipping his colleagues a bird only that bird could also be a potential risk to their health. It's childish behavior from someone supposedly qualified to represent his constituents in Congress. Politicians do unfortunately have to find ways of getting idiots to vote for them. Prioritizing that over the health of his colleagues however, is not the proper way to go about it (and sets a poor example for his constituents.) I've already had the stupid disease and short of variants, I doubt I can catch it again anytime soon, but he and I would have had some words afterward had I been one of those near him. It's the principle of the thing. We just managed to get rid of a President with the maturity of a 12yo. We can definitely do without such people in Congress as well.
1
No, they don't. Why would we want to bother with the ridiculous upkeep costs of something so useless? Edit: Also, there were a lot of shenanigans with who got the contracts and their connection to Trump and friends. Much that was already wasted on it will likely be reclaimed when the court cases are done.
1
Why? Someone has to protect the House Trumpublicans from their own stupidity.
1
Probably around the time that people realize money doesn't exist and economics is just a game.
1
The moron really should curb the wannabe Mussolini posing. It's not going to do him any favors when it comes time for his sentencing for kidnapping, trafficking, and misuse of funds... Edit: Also, speaking of funds... His constituents should look into how much of a kickback he received from the transportation company he paid $650,000 of Florida's money to fly just 50 people who weren't even in Florida to begin with. Paying $13,000 per person to go from Texas to Martha's Vineyard seems a bit...sus.
1
@khabbad Any of those he flew who had already requested asylum (and there were at least a few) were technically here legally. Assisting in removing them from the jurisdiction where their immigration court hearing would take place under false pretenses and across state lines could be classified as kidnapping and is definitely trafficking. If he wants to be President or even just be taken seriously, he needs to stop pulling childish stunts. They may let this one slide but what he did was illegal and if he keeps it up, he's going to go to far and get burned eventually.
1
Waste of time and resources. The border's simply too big, and even if it could be somewhat secured, they'd just find another way in. As poor as our infrastructure has become, a better idea would be to set up some sort of program where they can apply for jobs related to improving it with a proper wage and taxes withheld etc. in return for citizenship (and immediate family members) after a set period of time.
1
No, it's fundamentally Un-American to have an elected Congress member who's so constitutionally illiterate that they think free speech protections apply to private businesses...
1
This is Virginia's fault for incompetence in handling voter registration.
1
It's hard for tabloid news to find good talent.
1
@DavidBenAvraham88 From 2000 up until the Oct 7 attack, The IDF killed ~1,000 Palestinian civilians per year on average in Gaza. When you throw in the West Bank, the per year average surpasses the casualties of Hamas' attack. The IDF had since killed over 30,000 more. When it comes to murdering women and children, Israel makes Hamas look like amateurs.
1
He refused help from tech people who support him... He's not even trying to disprove the CNN article.
1
He was a never Trumper who bent over and spread his cheeks for the VP nomination. If that isn't someone who can be manipulated, I don't know what is...
1
@brianjungen4059 Well, combine Vance going after Walz with Trump's sickening attack on McCain back in the day and it doesn't look good when it comes to their combined... decorum concerning vets. Vance should have ignored his orders from Trump's campaign managers and simply left it alone. Stick to the issues. This is going to cost them votes.
1
@82saw3 No, It's what I watched him do. That farce he pulled with Ukraine violated almost every bit of the Impoundment Control Act and was far more than necessary to boot him out via impeachment. He survived only because the Republican led Senate gave him a pass. Combine that with everything always being someone else's fault whenever anything went wrong as well as his business history of throwing others under the bus to save himself (even his own father at one point) and what you have is spoiled little rich kid who never one had to take responsibility for his actions his entire life. The exact opposite of someone with accountability.
1
Please do not breed...

Should have just used General McAuliffe's classic reply of "Nuts!"
1
And then he threw it all away.
