It is ironic that all those things we have makes us far more vulnerable than a Roman would be living in some town in Italy. We can't live without electricity or living in large cities or motor vehicles or supermarkets. I live in a small town and the first I knew of the Covid epidemic was going to the supermarket and finding it closed, and when open, nothing but empty shelves. In the 70s the oil producers started restricting their output for more money - it caused panics and chaos in the modern world. Think how difficult is was for parents to keep their children at home instead of school during the pandemic.

Seems very common in America. Not blond, not pink, not blue eyed, they're admixed.
1
Why? The crusades did not win the Holy Land from the Infidels who took over from the Christians.
1
I don't care. I am not religious or a Christian. I was raised with BC/AD. It is like being upset that 0 meridian runs through Greenwich instead of Delhi. It is kind of silly since Jesus was born in BC, 4 BC, so it has been calculated.

Civilization existed for a long time before automobiles. And how can you live comfortably without a car, it isn't a choice, it is a necessity like having electricity and a clean water supply.
1
Well send one to me, I am sure an Alien pie would taste nice.
1
Mammals! You mean they were covered in fur and had multiple teats?
1
You should be more careful with whom you mix with.

The article spelled advice as advise, I am not irritated by spelling mistakes, but I note them. Maybe in American English advice noun and advise verb are the same spelling, but this is a British article. Most University students are over the age of 18, in my country a person that age is an adult. Adults are expected to be mature enough to handle topics they may not like or choose to do another topic. No place in this world is lucky enough to have zero infant mortality. I wonder how the Rape of the Sabine Women is handled in ancient Roman history and mythology. Your attitude about Politicians is cynical, it can work the other way and have negative effects on their reputation. It is the same with the University of Exeter, their stance can have negative effects, lose reputation and academic status. A bigger problem of Tertiary education is the process of dumbing down the standards of the instruction. Not everyone should have access to University.
1
Better at each other than at you.
1
It's hard to understand the vehemence. Politics and Politicians, you would expect some BS, patting their own backs, sticking knives into their opponents. It's a job, a job with a lot of perks if successful. Why else would anyone do it. I recently voted against the incumbent of my electorate in Australia because even though she is a good member of Parliament, she just moans and bitches, and never criticizes herself or her political affiliations. I got tired of all these I'm right, they're wrong stuff.
1
I am old, in my day Lego was pieces of metal.
1
Not every thing that written is fact. A lot of it is rubbish. Herodotus wrote a lot of rubbish.
1
What you are saying is fact, the disciples of Hancock don't care about facts, they are lies and dissembling.
1
Actually six in NZ English, well, the most popular accent, is not the word you indicated but more like sux. They do something strange to the a. Otherwise they sound sort of Australian, a drunk Australian maybe. Yes, I am Australian.
1
Well, Japanese wear Western clothing most of the time, unless it is the Lone Wolf and baby cart.
1
The incest is just an explantion about how two ethnic groups came into existence. Obviously, those two ethnic groups were not well liked.
1
@inotaishu1 It supposedly was Princess Diana Spencer.
1
I can understand the irritation but people can think what they like. There's nowt as queer as folk.
1
At least Caesar wasn't shot by a gun or by arrow, unlike that man martyred by the Romans, Sebastian, I saw so many of those arrow shot Sebastian in Italy. Malaria in the desert?
1
A bald head! I thought Italian cuisine is regional. I went to a hole in the wall eatery in Napoli and the menu was mussels, mussels and mussels. I had something called Risotto alla Milanese in Milan. This dish is took labor intensive for me. I cannot see the point of making my own pasta or chicken stock, I would rather pay an expert to make those for me. People these days don't have hours to spare to prepare food.
1
I didn't know the Gauls spoke French or Italian.
1
Do you despise it because it is wrong or because you are an acolyte of Hancock's. Those people you despise are, guess what, humans, and flawed. I am sure they upbraid themselves when they are mocking, deriving or shouting rather than being controlled. Personally I have never seen any of what you just said. Shouting?
1
Their arms and legs are oddly proportioned and sometimes their eyes are oddly place on their heads.
1
They used the Nile as transport, and built canals close to where the pyramids were being built.
1
There could have been some Black people there. People move across oceans, over mountains, and across deserts.
1
Sounds like granny Americanize the dish. Now I have to make this dish for Sunday dinner, I will follow the more original recipe.
1
And brought us closer to extinction. Humans would collapse without those loads of stuff. Can you imagine the billions of humans going back to hunting and gathering?
1
All ancient writing wasn't about warning, it was accounting, business transactions, who owns what.
1
Keep you shirt on. I am one of those people who would injure myself and mortally injure others if I tried to use one of those David's sling. I don't as a rule watch your weapons videos, I am a sniper and ambush type, maybe bow and arrow, not slings and armor and weapons.
1
I live in Australia and it exists, and it's multicultural and multi ethnic, there are even Italians here.
1
Naples. It's a hellhole. Luckily I went to Pompeii ages ago when frescoes were still in good shape. I don't know why uncover these ruins only to expose them to the weather.
1
The Middle East where those Astrological ideas came from, was in contact with Egypt, and those ancients did not have TV or Youtube, so they looked at the stars.
1
Academics do the same thing with other academics. So why not? Look, it depends how you correct someone whether academic or not. I don't as a rule do not correct anyone. I hear mispronunciations quite often like Pompei, but I let it ride. When I was in Tertiary Education I did not like having to cite sources. It annoyed me because learned as those people were, they are still mostly opinions based on correlations. Of course citing sources is the right approach, but it still irks me. Paradigms as used by you comes from a boring book on science by a Thomas Kuhn. I aged reading that book.
1
I don't know, it depends on opinion. He looks sort of golden, not dark tan which looks like the color of brown shoe polish.
1
It could be the definition of civilization. It has to do with cities and writing. Maybe advanced human cultures. What caused ancient humans to go into caves to paint lions, bison, rhinoceros, wild horses, and why was there a sudden change in their stone tools? Hancock's ancient people were quite mean in not sharing things like the wheel and domesticating bovines and horses for moving the good by cart.
1
I have only heard people use jackshit in Australia, but you are right and can be extended to most of the world.
1
They existed before Archimedes, he just go the credit.
1
No. Well I won't be watching.
1
I believe everyone can talk about history as it belongs to all of us. You don't have to be an expert, and experts can have opinions and views that cannot be substantiated. Take the Moors, I don't consider them to be Black Africans just because large group of people say they were as the Moors set off by ships from Africa. I feel concern for that man because of his mental processes and his agitated state.
1
I don't know. The man is English, but Kevin is a name favored by Irish Catholics. He's probably more Irish than English in ancestry.
1
China is Communist, and espionage would make James Bond look like a tot in kindergarten. Look how the Covid thing was handled.
1
He was. He genuinely was just trying to learn.
1
No one needs history to survive. Humans survived for quite a long time in a good quality of life without a writing system, literature or written stories about the past aka history.
1
You are of your age and generation, so you are into video games.
1
Whatever happened to the idea that the star Sirius was supposed to shine on the Pharaoh's face, or his death mask, in order for him to ascend to meet the God Osiris? I am sure that if you asked one of the workers on that pyramid he'ld say, dunno mate, it just a job for the governor.
1
Yes, but seconds, minutes and hours were invented by the Sumerians. Everything about Egypt is 2nd hand, their agriculture was from Asia, their domestic animals from Asia.
1
Maybe they do know it all. Europeans generally like to express themselves without having to kowtow and kiss arse.
1
I don't eat cereals out of boxes.
1
@troyelam8978 Berbers are not Arabs whatever that means as some Sudanese call themselves Arabs and they are black skinned, and others called themselves Arabs like Palestinians who are not Black Africans. You are very rude, and there's nothing stopping you going to live in the Congo. Go on, get.
