If these protestors escalate the violence any further they will force the PLA to move into the region to reclaim law and order. Damaging infrastructure, hurting innocent citizens, and reducing the region's labor output are all clear and present dangers to the national security and sovereignty of the Peoples Republic of China. As such gives the PRC more latitude to move in against protestors. Hence why the escalated violence is so dangerous for protestors and Hong Kong. China needs to step in before this gets any worst.
