  5.  @donnash5813  sometimes the freeways branch off and the left lane is used as the entrance (weird design.) It's common in LA especially when we have Interstate 5 North connecting to the 710 North and the 710 South connecting to the 5 South. Still doesn't excuse the jackass behavior though

It is the responsibility of any person merging to do so safely unless under certain conditions such as entering the freeway or when a lane ends. What if a car was behind the cammer and couldn't brake? Would you say the same thing?

  22. Unfortunately most drivers in LA do this type of stunt. They aren't confused about exiting and want to bypass traffic as much as possible. Other times they don't pay attention to the road and want to cut to enter a freeway.

  23. ​@adelerose7419 disagree on the avoidable part for this one.. A lot of people try to rush around construction crews just to get in front. The white car was speeding up just to merge at last minute, so he had fault as deemed by insurance. I usually try not to rush when merging and only do so when it's safe to do so.

  26. From the look of it the middle lane is primarily for entering and exiting the road. The CR-V may have used it to try to bypass traffic

  29. I drive through that area to see my orthodontist and the design is similar to another area close by. Generally speaking the left lane is supposed to turn into the far left while the right turn lane can use the middle or right lane. Dash cammer is most likely at fault for this one.

  30. @seekeroftruth6728  wrong in this case. I looked up the intersection and it's similar to a lot of others in the area. Far left lane is supposed to go into the left lane while the right left turning lane can go into the center or right lane. The guy just admitted to being at fault online. If you don't believe me you can look up the DMV handbook about dual left turning lanes onto one way streets.

  36. ​ @DzibMoya another thing too: cars don't randomly spawn out of nowhere. You have to check your mirrors and look over your shoulder before merging or changing lanes. You need to get some hard life lessons before being behind the wheel

  40.  @duncansmith9285  sorry to disappoint but in most cases if you got into an accident you would be at fault since you failed to look to see if it was clear. It is your responsibility to see if it is okay to move over and to never assume that you can move over.

In some states general rule of thumb is that if someone can overpass you on the right and there is no traffic then you would be cited and found at fault for holding up traffic. The mustang did not pass or overtake any cars at that point so they were illegally using the left lane as you can only use it to overtake or pass traffic but as soon as you pass and there are no other cars to overpass then you have to move to the right lane.

  49. @jessesmusicmanor  the red car was already merging at the point of time the cammer sped up. Cammer did not brake or let the car in, which led to their citation. Police most likely determined that the red car was already establishing control of the lane before the cammer cut them off. If a car has begun to merge and you hit them, they will issue a citation to you for failing to yield.

  50. @dalesmith2061  Based on traffic flow, he could have used the middle lane since there was no excuse not to. General rule of thumb is you should use the middle lane if you are traveling for some miles and switch to the right lane if you plan to exit. It's what I do.
