Tess Tickle Exactly as this is a withdrawal agreement. The trade treaty negotiations will take about 6 year. This is the amount of time it took with Canada and this deal was much simpler as it involved far less. So we can look forward to interesting years to come. But when I see the deeply divided Tories who love to fight with each other and have no majority for anything Brexit related it might take 12 years.

@erhardt1477 Good morning, yes I know my apologies facts are so boring lets shout slogans. It is really amazing what kind of drama people can make out of leaving a political organisation of sovereign countries.
4
Johnson working? How did this happen?
4
Albert Pike What a lovely whataoboutism. The topic was Westminster and how it holds Scottland as its vassal.
4
@jpw6893 It is not a trade agreement, but a membership. This membership comes with privileges worth up to 100 billions a year and surprisingly one has to contribute to the organisation one belongs to for all the services they provide. Some of them are the trade treaties with 80 countries and frictionless trade with 27 more countries. So one has privileged trade access to 107 countries in the world.
4
Matt Lemons - 27 countries agreed to one negotiator. The UK changed their negotiators and one was worse then the other. Now it turns out that the UK negotiator had neither a mandate nor the backing of the majority of Parliament. This is an embarrassment.
4
@paulies5407 Scotland was long enough a vassal to Westminster. It is time to take back sovereignty.
4
@grimaldus1967 - Please name one that relates to you personally and is negative for you.
4
@jpw6893 What are you talking about? Chile exports mainly raw materials. You want to compare 1800 billion exports of the EU with the number 42 in exports? What is the use of that? I speak about the UK so how does this help the UK? 3 million jobs in the UK depend on the export into the EU27 as they are with 48% the largest export market. 90% of UK exports profits from EU agreement or treaties. So losing frictionless trade in the EU, facing all kind of paperwork and regulation, slowing delivery with customs and all that makes UK products less competitive in the EU. Companies in the EU27 have already begun to reroute their supply lines away from the UK. They want it easy, safe and without paperwork or complication. Losing access to all the agreements and treaties makes trade on a global scale harder for UK businesses. The EU exports 1800 billion all over the world. Oh and the UK are about 8% of EU exports.
4
Lixna - The EU has moved on 6 month ago. The Tories are sitting in a dark room and claim that they found finally the cards they intent to play.
4
May be it is news to some here but the UK exports 48% into the EU and about 3 million jobs depend on these exports. The UK depends on EU imports as most cars assembled in the UK have 60% parts from the EU 27. Most of these cars will be sold in the EU. They need just in time delivery for this kind of production and this works only in the Eu single market and customs union. The representative of the car industry already said their business model does not work with the Brexit and this will endanger directly and indirectly a few hundred thousand jobs.
4
@ChristianPatriarchy Why do you use such a weird claim? With whom do you imagine is the UK at war? Why do you imagine that anyone get defeated?
4
How uninformed are these politicians to think some 2 trillion economy can play with 12, 16 and 20 trillion economies.
4
This is shocking to see it all spelled out and that these people lie as if they never said it.
4
Rew West dubling - Nice to see a minority view represented here. The overwhelming majority in Ireland are pro EU.
4
@pauljonespauljones9028 This message of Putin is well received. It means only NATO members are safe from Russian aggression.
4
ocean shred - You mean they give them not the platform to sell their propaganda unchallenged? I was not aware that it was their duty. I am sure under JRM's rule that would not have happened.
4
Answets in Reality - Anyone who thought this would not be a withdrawal agreement and about losing believed the Brexit brigade and their empty promises.
4
@terrysmith3065 Brexit is going to cost the UK a lot of jobs, tax revenue and credibility. Brexit costs Today 500 million a week.
4
flapjackfred - It is freedom to work where you find work. Everyone has 3 month to show he or she can support themselves 100%. If not they have to leave. This works fine in many EU countries. The UK government never did anything about it. They were either to lazy or did not understand the rules. What is is laziness or did not get it?
3
Ciaran Aspell - Crashing out of the EU without treaties to protect the GFA means to break the GFA.
3
Archie Santos - It would be great if the NHS would have not 100.000 job vacancies and if they weren't underfunded. The Tories starved the NHS for 10 years.
3
@LH-jm5hj Very true!
3
@cynderfan2233 Most cars produced in the UK have 60% parts from the EU. They are part of a EU wide just in time delivery chain. This works only in an EU single market and customs union as they provide frictionless trade. The car plants have parts only for a few hours of production and if trucks are stuck in Dover in Customs, paper works and so on then this stops. Jaguar Landrover said that this Brexit crash out will cost them 1,2 billion. Many foreign companies are only in the UK, because the UK is in the EU single market and customs union. If the UK leaves they leave the UK in part or as a whole.
3
@jonfairhurst71 The UK exports to its largest market are 48%. About 90% of British exports profits from EU agreements or trade treaties. The EU exports 8% into the UK. Not to mention that most cars that are assembled in the UK have 60% parts from the EU. Nissan alone needs 3 million parts a day and they have reserves for half a day. So without a constant just in time delivery everything stops.
3
Randy Marsh - Can you please share with us what your concerns are about the words from the lips of the Japanese PM?
3
hfredydl It depends, the Uk will be crashing out break the Good Friday Agreement and erect a border. This will worsen the living condition of NI. More and more may get aware that they are just a colonial leftover from British colonialism. It is a British border in Ireland.
3
The job of the NHS is to protect and serve the people. The job of the government is to provide the NHS with staff and equipment which the Tories failed to do.
3
The Criticiser - A lot of small business will just go bankrupt and larger ones will move in part or as a whole. It is the utter incompetence of the Tories that led to this situation.
3
South Korea has a huge metropolitan area named Seoul and 60 million inhabitants. They had only 300 covid-19 death. They reacted fast and tested people and surprise it worked. In the meanwhile the Tories where sleeping.
3
@ninjatheory7846 Can we see the study please? By the way Germany has 83 per million death and the UK 443 per million death from the covid-19. Do Germans have warmer blood or how do they do it?
3
Mike Stewart - No one offered Canada plus it is just a fantasy animal UK MPs created. The UK can have a trade treaty like Canada and this is it. Nothing else is on option as the UK tied itself in red tape.
3
@Nats Nacua , you always have a choice. You can be a decent human being or a war criminal. It is your choice.
3
DeusInfurnum Everyone can afford more troubles then a country whose GDP is less then Italy. Yes Russia's GDP is less then that of Italy.
3
Do you understand that everyone in Europe speaks at least English?
3
Fainites Barley - Do they export 44% of their goods into the EU? Most cars assembled in the UK gave 60% parts from other EU countries. So even the EU imports are needed.
3
The problem are the Russian war criminals attacking Ukraine. It is time to bring them before an international court of justice to stand trial for their war crimes.
3
@johnbull9195 - As it is written in the Good Friday Agreement until they vote on it and both reach a majority for reunification.
3
@garsm2290 This is the Farage promotion platform and not a party.
3
@davidrobertsemail The UK government agreed to owe the money. The UK government is very talented to hide obligations and monetary commitments they made from their voters.
3
@davidrobertsemail Ask your sports club after leaving to get the parts you mean to have paid for.
3
joe caterman Keep the sentence in mind when the UK will be sued and has to appear in court. It will be very amusing to see if the EU removes the gloves then and does what they haven't done niw.
3
@cloudstrife206 There is legal obligation and the EU has the experts for that as they have in trade negotiations. The EU did not srnd Davis the unprepared.
3
@anderslee99 If the Uk crashes out then the UK does it by becoming a third country without any treaties to support the GFA.
3
Did someone tell this guy that 44% of exports go to the EU and another 16% though Eu trade treaties. So 60% of UK exports are directly affected by crashing out.
3
@Catfish Billy What is your believe based on? The 50 million for a never build bridge? The promise of Johnson to give the rich a 25 billion tax cut? Johnson promised at least another 25 billion for various other things. Where does it come from? May be the magic money tree?
3
@joeparker3815 Yes and no, surely it is a catastrophe but the Tories made it worse. It turned into a slow motion car crash.
3
Mange2 What exactly has the UK given and whom? The UK is leaving the EU and leaving is about losing. As a third country a variation of options are at hand which all were ignored as the UK wrapped itself in red lines and entangled itself. This is all the product of UK choices.
3
I ordered a 5 year stock of popcorn to watch the court jester pretending to be king. It will be horrible at times, but he is the biggest clown and liar in town.
3
@everready2903 The UK destroyed the status quo in 2016 with their vote.
