  1. d s - A 16 trillion economy should be in competition to a 2 something trillion UK. I have my doubts. We have 3 giants in trade the US (20 trillion), EU (16 trillion), China (12 trillion) and a single digit country does not play in there league.

  2.  @mclanaford2957  Japan already said that the UK can't has as good trade agreement as the EU. The Japaneses notices that the EU are 16 trillion economy and the UK just 2.

  3.  @awesomeavenger2810  The EU is the most sucessful single market and one of the three giants in trade (beside the US and China). The UK made commitments and forgot to tell their voters. So as the government accepted the debts they have it will be field day in court. Lets see how future trade deals will work with a UK that tried to run away from its obligations.

  5. Hoj Boj - The UK obeyed the US command to bord the Iranian tanker. The EU embargo countly only for ships flying EU country flag. So it is an US order obeyed by the UK.

  7.  @johnhumphrey9174  The least I heard is that they try to use more customs officers. Let me give you an example. A bathtub fills faster with water then it can flow out. The British "solution" is use a tank to hold it in. The problem is that delays only that the bath tub overflows for a few days max. The non British solution is to use more customs officers so more trucks can pass or in our example more water can flow out. So they increase the amount of trucks pass customs while the British solution is wait till the water floods the bathroom.

  9.  @awesomeavenger2810  Negotiations are over, they lasted for over 2 years. The problem is that parliament has no majority for anything in regard to Brexit. The Tories are running around like headless chickens and talk about the different color of unicorns.

  26. @William Stewart British politicians might not have have informed the British tax payer about the obligations and payments they agreed to, but they have. So either the UK pays or they get sued. I heard the EU is ready to sue the UK try day after they deny to settle their accounts and pay what they owe the EU.

  27. Robin GSNR The UK exports 48% into the EU27. Most cars assembled in the UK need 60% EU27 parts. They are delivered just in time as it would be to costly otherwise. This won't work without EU single market and customs union says the automobile representatives. So they will down size and open new production lines in other countries.

  29.  @erictull2089  The UK exports 48% to the other EU countries. All other EU countries export only 8% into the EU. What should they be back for? The UK send negotiators without mandate and majority backing from Parliament to the EU. After 2 years the UK negotiators and the EU came to an agreement which is worthless as the UK negotiators had neither mandate nor majority backing of Parliament. So it makes no sense to negotiate with the UK at all.
