I only use Asian brand belt kits. These engines are interference, meaning if the belt fails, so do some of the valves.

You get not first metal.

I just watched someone pour oil and was entertained! I better check myself! I'm fine!
1
Looks like you got a bit of taste of what the rust belt has to deal with on this truck.
1
No hate from this guy!
1
I wonder how many people would have just left that defective assembled booster installed, not even being aware it was wrong. Attention to detail!
1
Ray, may I post a link about getting my late father's 1958 Plymouth Suburban back on the road? This car has been in the family all of my life. The car in my profile picture.

Suggestion as to the "personal items" left in the vehicle when you have to move them to gain access, place the items in a container with a note stating it's impossible for you to put things back where they were. 9 times out of 10, most items don't need to be in there anyways. Give them a chance to purge their items.

And intentionally designed to cam out!

If you're working on something that came from Japan, those screws are not Philips. They're JIS. Japanese Industrial Standard. Not designed to cam out like Philips head are!

This video in it's self is documentation. Do you ever direct customers to view your videos?
1
Yeah, I thought about the person who mounted those tires and either ignored or was obvious to the amount of slop they had!
1
Nice "TIP" on closing the valves to get around the machine.
1
Taped the like button at the beginning of the video! Enjoy your videos! Happy new year!
1
Yep! Eric O will have some suggestions! Congratulations on another employee!!
1
On one of my vehicles I had a CV axle fight tooth and nail to come out of the transmission! Something informed the C clip not to compress when the pry bar was applied! I did win! Don't remember the final method I used. Years ago.

Why add the soap?

Happy for your success!!

Time to hook up the scanner on YouTube!

Ray, perhaps you might enjoy following along as I get my late father's 1958 Plymouth Suburban back on the road. Playlist on my channel.

If I'm driving on a two lane road, I'll leave my lights on high beam. I'll pay attention if and when the driver dims, I'll dim. If we're getting close, and they haven't dimmed, I'll dim. 70% of the time it works all of the time they'll see the change in my lights and dim. Something has to draw their attention. If they don't dim, I'll leave mine on dim and divert my eyes to the right side of the road strip. I don't turn my brights on because we don't both need to be blinded! I have found myself forgetting to dim. No one is perfect. Forgiveness and grace is required in dealing with someone you're passing on the road that you'll only encounter for the brief moment. π€

I do think we need a collaboration with SMA!

Hindsight is 20-15! Better than perfect vision!
1
Dorman really did a great job on that part! If the general public really knew how much effort goes into video production.....
1
You would have Eric O at SMA cringing!
1
Great point! I thought about the lack of maintenance, but the ability of the car to go in a straight line if wet/slippery/icy surface, alignment needs to be considered!
1
Nice new intro! VERY EFFECTIVE!
1
Working towards 600,000 subscribers! You da man!

Must be a 04 WJ. My '00 has both an electric fan and mechanical. Took the dash out on my '00 to replace the evaporator. Not really difficult. Dash is heavy for one old guy. If I was to do it again, I'd pull the front seats, and suspend the dash inside the vehicle with ratchet straps from the drip rails.

But the customer can watch! Probably won't because only us car nuts watch videos of stuff we can do ourselves! This is because we either learn it the hard way or by watching videos! LoL π€£ π

Purchase an 1993 Taurus wagon. Looked to be in great shape. Started driving it and noticed it was getting great fuel mileage, until one day it started sputtering. Coasted into a fuel station. Yep, out of fuel. Gas gauge not working. Start looking through the wiring diagrams. Was thinking the slosh module was bad. Went to Ford to see if it could be tested. Mechanic looked at me, and said, " pretty good to get that far, however, check fuse #18". Checked the fuse, and it was missing! Previous owner pulled the fuse so the check engine light wouldn't come on. Turned out needing an O2. Ran great after that.

Since you're presenting the estaminet to the customer instead of someone else, are you getting more estimates instead of having the customer decline them?
1
Awesome!

Algorithm boost!

Tool on air hammer. Shake-n-break.
1
Someone stole Eric O's brake clean! His is the only one that makes sounds! LoL ππ
1
Β @simonilett998Β yes, I came to that conclusion also. That way the wiring to the computer would have been tested too. However, hindsight is 20-15! Being the one watching and not doing the work, and the one setting up camera shots, I'm giving him a slide on this one.
1
I'm playing this at 1.5 speed. You're really rushing!
1
A car that requires instructions on how the passenger enters it! LoL ππ Yes please! I'll take one!!
1
Was told by a tire tech that if a tire is selected by a high temperature rating, wear, and (can't remember the 3rd one currently), the brand and price doesn't matter. Is he correct?
1
Great job making your videos entertaining! Yes, I hit the "LIKE" BUTTON!
1
Do you get actual time on a job like this since there's probably no FR?
1
I'm guessing a subscriber owns this vehicle.
1
Saved several brake lines using the same method you did on the EGR nut. Heat is your friend.
1
Like why they actually want the correct parts the first time?! I'm sure you're doing your best!
1
I have a '99 Toyota Camry with 450,000+ miles. The rear cover is leaking as is the power steering pump. As you know, both are buried under stuff. Might tackle the job after watching this job.
