Totally missed it! Gonna have to watch again! LoL π€£π

HOW LONG does one have to run an engine to reduce the crank diameter that much? π€
1
Better than a dipstick tube removal!!πππ
1
Valve covers were spotless on this engine. Combustion chambers not so much!
1
βΒ @frankd.3985Β "All 4 deactivate." Does the engine restart on its own?
1
Β @big0bad0bradΒ thank you! Makes sense.
1
Head gasket.
1
This engine would definitely run again with bearings, rings, and timing chain! I'll dive in the bin for the water pump! LoL ππ
1
I guess work got in the way of seeing this video! Watching now. Good stuff!!
1
I have a friend whose lawnmower died mid-cut. He brought it to me. I checked for spark by pulling the spark plug. Didn't see any. Put in a coil. Still no spark. It was a bad plug!
1
Sure, more stuff like this!
1
How about a 318 Polly? Playlist on my channel about the car in my profile picture, my late father's 1958 Plymouth Suburban.
1
@zemilkman5450Β nice! Solid old engines! I learned to drive and wrench on that car!
1
Knew a guy who was driving a mid 70s bigger car with a V8. He heard one rod go. Does he pull over?? NOPE! Pedal to the metal! 4 rods in all before it costed to a stop! LoL π π

Talked to a bulk fuel delivery guy. He would throw a bag of red die into the tank in "normal" fuel.
1
Interesting open design after the bell housing is removed!!
1
People get excited when the oil is a bit overfilled on the dipstick. In reality, how much extra oil is required for the oil level to teach the crankshaft and start foaming? π€
1
Β @pocketpc_Β totally agree!!
1
Pay no attention to the car in my profile picture. 1958 Plymouth Suburban. There may or may not be videos of it on my channel.. π
1
Do you have a community page that we can post comments and pictures?

Doesn't look like oil starvation. Wouldn't the bearings be toast? What caused the wrist pins to lock up?
1
A friend was attempting to make his wife more aware of vehicle maintenance. He bought her a '92 high miles Mazda Protegee. Something she could drive, neglecte, and blowup! Turns out, it didn't use much oil, and the cooling system was way over built. It was like the Energize Bunny! Kept going and going! I saw it sitting in his driveway. Asked him about it. He gave it to me and told me the story I mentioned above. I lifted the hood. The only thing wrong was it needed an alternator belt. I told him that, but he was tired of his "lesson" not working! π I drove it for several years after that.

Now we know what factory oil looks like! GASP!
1
How old of a car do you like? How about a 1958 Plymouth Suburban? You might enjoy following along as I get it back to daily driver condition. History of the car back to 1968 told in the video. https://youtu.be/9jJxV_qSNmg
1
My grandpa ran water mixed with alcohol as antifreeze. He said it wouldn't eat the bearings if the head gasket started leaking.
1
How many miles in those 10 years?
1
Β Bo BluΒ 3.0
1
How did things go on the '15? How much oil was it using? π€ I just bought a '13.
1
LoL ππ

Purchased a 2013 Equinox when we flew to Vegas. Drove it back to MN. I totally understand the rust free you're taking about! I had to remove the front left wheel bearing. Remove the bolts, remove the bearing. Without a hammer mind you! It's got 178,000+ miles on it. I expected to have to add oil on our drive to MN. Nope! The 2.4 is doing well on oil usage.

Β @viperidaenz1Β interesting π€

Interesting you mentioned the old polly! My late father's 1958 Plymouth Suburban has the 318 poly. I'm working on getting it back to daily driver condition. Perhaps you might enjoy subscribing to follow the progress? https://youtu.be/u8ULwSid-PA

Liked Thanks for the video! EGR the best emissions invention! Said no one EVER!

Just checked out your channel! I needed to hear about your faith in our Lord Jesus Christ! That was powerful! I see you've just started your channel. You two are a natural at this video stuf!! I'm excited to see where your channel takes you! Having Ray's and Eric's channels linking to yours, this should give you a boost for your viewing hours! You might be able to become full time YouTube! I'm absolutely thrilled that you'll be getting your van back in 110% condition! I subscribed to your channel and wrote a book for you there too. I've also took a donated vehicle, fixed it, and gave it away. It's a great feeling! Blessings!

OBSERVATION Sarcasm runs strong on this channel!! πππ

1967, 283 Chevy small block, was my first engine rebuild experience! An engine that never should have been rebuilt! Cylinders worn with a heavy ridge! This one you tore down looked "perfect" π compared to that one! Thanks for the video! Keep on keeping on!

All vehicles cost money to buy, operate, and repair.
1
Gravity!" I enjoy Rainman Ray! Another honest repair guy! Way to hang in there! Good to see your wife willing to help you out!
1
If it wasn't for the box and back of the cab, that thing would be sitting on the ground!!
1
Some high RPM carnage!?

YouTuber Mustie1 uses bar and chain oil for chainsaws mixed with a solvent. Something that'll allow the oil to get into small areas, solvent evaporates, leaving the oil. Then he intentionally drives on a dirt road to cover the oil in a coat of dirt. He's repaired his Toyota trucks frame and then treated it. Check him out.
1
Are the low tension rings the reason for higher oil consumption and people are running out of oil before the recommended change interval?
1
Β @johngatsby1473Β on your next oil change. Send a sample to an oil analysis lab.
1
He's still looking for it!π

I laughed at the amount of water shooting out of the exhaust!

Β @PlayscBricksΒ it's all good until you make a claim. That's where they refer to and interpret the fine print.
