Nature disagrees
2
No it's not.
2
@uafc1 There's a video of a leopard taking a hyena's kill. Here's the title, if you're interested: "Djuma: Leopard-Tlalamba female shows up-takes some of Hyena's(Faulco) kill-Pt:3 - 02:12 - 09/20/20" I would post the link, but YouTube doesn't like me posting links, for some reason.
2
@Ranielly animações Can't be a problem for nature if you ARE nature.
2
@shirleylangton4015 Umm, predators killing other animals is normal.
2
@slicklace True. I know some guide-driven vehicles are open-top. However, the guides will have more experience than some random tourists, meaning they'll know how to avoid situations like that.
2
More likely the lion was stealing food from the hyena.
2
Just for trying to survive? The wild dogs need to eat, as well, you know? Nothing "disgusting" or "evil" about that, at all.
2
For... trying to survive?
2
@VictoryAlex5 Spotted hyenas actually hunt more than they scavenge, with them hunting between 50-95% of their own prey. Also, it is actually more common for lions to steal from hyenas than it is for hyenas to steal from lions. Besides, literally EVERY predator will "steal" from other predators if given the chance.
2
@friezasoicy8406 It's been proven by research that hyenas have intelligence comparable to chimps.
2
@Atomicbite5 Funny you say that cats are top predators, when the most successful hunter in Africa is a canid (African wild dogs).
2
Illegal to interfere
2
This is nature. This would have happened regardless of whether or not the people were there. Nothing "evil" about it, as other animals don't have the same morals as we do. They're simply trying to survive.
2
Nothing evil about trying to survive.
2
@hamstermunchies5558 That's just how they survive. Doesn't make them "evil" in any way.
2
They did nothing wrong. The people filming this aren't responsible for what is happening in the video. This is simply nature at work. Animals need to eat, you know?
2
That's one way of saying you don't care about the ecosystem.
2
And, in the videos of hyenas "stealing" food from lions, it's more than likely that the hyenas are simply trying to reclaim a kill that they made from the lion.
2
This is a wild animal, not someone's pet.
2
@Hi-ef9yd So, it's not our place to decide what happens in nature.
2
This is a wild animal, not someone's pet/one in captivity.
2
Because that would be illegal.
2
They (the hyenas and leopards) need to eat, you know? They can't exactly go to the grocery store, now.
2
They probably don't want the hyena to starve.
2
We're actually more useless as we don't contribute to the ecosystem, at all. In fact: we cause more harm than good.
2
It's not the hyenas' fault rhinos are rare. Also, the only thing killing hyenas will accomplish is a messed up ecosystem.
2
@hazardeur Lions have a success rate of 30%, whereas hyenas have a success of 74%. Then there's African wild dogs, with an 80% success rate.
2
This is nature.
2
How is the poster cruel? I don't see him/her abusing the animals in any way?
2
They try and get them used to the cars so that they don't view them as a threat or food source (the two main reasons for animal attacks). That way, there is less risk of the people in the cars getting attacked. It's called "habituation".
2
Quite a few people in the comments wanting the ecosystem destroyed.
2
Not sure what your point is?
2
Wildlife isn't just for adults. Most nature reserves allow children in. They can't control what the animals do.
2
How are they hurting the animals? They didn't tell the hyenas to kill the other one, did they?
2
That also means you hate dogs, cats, wolves, lions, jackals, leopards, bears, coyotes, foxes and tigers.
2
Which means you also like it when hyenas take down lions. Since I can confirm you like hyenas.
2
For everyone asking about the kill: It literally says what it is in the descriptions.

@JoyOfZion9 Hyenas are also vital to the ecosystem as well. 'Spotted hyenas are the ‘health police’ of their ecosystem. They hunt weak prey, that are for example very young, old, or sick, but they can also consume carrion in advanced state of decomposition. Their outstanding immune system and their digestive system are perfectly adapted to feeding on carrion; hyenas can devour animals that succumbed to diseases that can be deadly to other species (including humans) such as anthrax. Their powerful jaws, highly acidic stomach, and enlarged and powerful premolars further enable them to crush and digest even the largest bones, such as those of giraffes and elephants. All this makes spotted hyenas a crucial component of the ecosystem' (source: https://hyena-project.com/hyenas/#section5).
1
@JoyOfZion9 All animals have to survive somehow, right?
1
Kayley Cobblepot Lion King, most likely.
1
@renny9897 I'd saying hunting 50-95% of your own prey is hunting more than scavenging. And lions steal more from hyenas than the other way around.
1
@renny9897 I like to provide some facts when it comes to hyenas.
1
A few things wrong with your comment: 1: animals don't have morals like we do. They simply do what ever is necessary to survive. 2: from what I've heard, hyenas don't really smell all that much (except after eating, of course) 3: spotted hyenas are primarily hunters, not scavengers.
1
@Thisispow Not sure how hunting 50-95% of your own prey is "always stealing", tbh. And lions steal from hyenas more often than the other way around. (this only applies to spotted hyenas, of course).
1
@Thisispow That's true. Was just trying to help educate you a bit.
1
@logical1396 People who actually like nature and wildlife?
1
@logical1396 Failing to see your point, here. Your username is so ironic.
1
You know wild dogs are also endangered due to poaching, right?
1
Spotted hyenas actually have intelligence comparable to chimps. In fact, they have been observed (both in captivity AND in the wild) being able to solve puzzles, and even excel in various tests. Plus, it would be very difficult to run a hierarchy like they do if they weren't very intelligent.
