Like, I love cyberpunk as a genre, I romanticize the aesthetic and get a lot of comfort out of consuming media from that genre. Would be cool if someone wrote about a second American revolution against the christian fascists, that might be inspiring for some people idk maybe...

  15.  @LukeRojas  I'm sorry for talking down to you, but it is a pretty simple concept. Being "apolitical" is still a political position, just a lazy one. Most people who are politically engaged want the world to change in one way or another, they want the politics of the world to move in one direction or another. The world is shaped by politics, everyone living in the world has had their lives shaped by politics. Choosing to be "apolitical" just means choosing to not engage with politics and trying to change society, it's a decision to just accept the politics of the world we currently live in, to accept the status quo, and let society change them, rather than try to have an informed opinion and change society. Watch this video again with that framing in mind and I think you'll understand what I mean.

  22.  @tomshepperd3535  We're not going to get to it without the state, the workers need control of the state before we can dismantle the state, and that's something that will take decades to do, it won't happen overnight. I agree that government and corporations are authoritarian structures. But 90% of people on earth are reliant on those structures in one form or another, we can't just burn it all down and expect everything to be fine. We need democracy before we can have a voluntary resource based society, which is the end goal.

Video games, films and the pioneering of space travel were all made in the Soviet union. Just because something was made under capitalism doesn't mean it could only be made under capitalism, any product could conceivably be created under a different economic system. Don't let people tell you that smartphones exist because of Capitalism, that's stupid and misunderstands how and why things are made in the first place.
