In addition, I do get the appeal of exchange of essays as a conversation style. However, it does have the side effect of requiring that any and all specific criticism provides footnotes and specific references. Pause for response. The barrage of opinions is a tried and true strategy in debate, which is generally not accepted in normal conversation. It effectively prevents anyone from attempting to decipher the words of their opponent through their mass of points, eliminating the possibility of criticism. Pause for response.   13. Welcome to reality outside of the national filter. Once you get to the local level, the amount of funny people is about equal among the genders. National media is a summary, and only gives you the most basic idea of the ideas circulating within the nation. It amplifies the differences it can find, so it doesn't portray as many funny women when the difference is really so tiny as to be negligible.

  44. I consider pop feminism to be closer to the second wave than the third. The third wave is intersectional and more focused on a broad equalization of opportunities; the second wave is focused more on revenge.

  47.  @markharrison6498  The reason why Americans refer to themselves as such is that America is a place where there's nothing to really assimilate into. In exchange, there's no limit on what culture you can practice in public, and we have a day, week, or month for every ethnicity that's big enough to talk about. But that means that Americans don't really have anything uniting them beyond patriotism, which is why everyone has a flag. This idea came mostly out of a response to systemic racism, where instead of fitting themselves into an American box, people expanded the box to include most Americans. It's not perfect, and people are still working to make the box larger.
