Established titles is a scam. You can't call yourself a lord or lady. You can't use it in a legal way, you can't put it on any documents. The new jersey channel has fallen for this too. A quick Google proves it's nonsense.
2
"that was a ludicrous plan that would never come to fruition" The Third Reich in a sentence right there.
2
A video covering what they got right would be amazing. Same with band of brothers. Great video:)
2
@geodkyt if I had any weapons I would want the same lol 😅. I suppose I do have a decorative sword. But it isn't sharp. So I doubt it's even a little dangerous. 😂
2
The holster alone is a work of art. No wonder Germany didn't win the war. Lovely to see how carefully he handles a 100 year old item. Can almost feel the care though the video.
2
None Americans had to take two seconds to wonder why the air around you wasn't boiling. I'm guessing 100+ Deg in empire units is a lot....
2
I think this may be the first weapon I've seen on your channel that is legal to buy in the UK for a normal person. Cool little thing
2
@muddyhotdog4103 ah thanks for that. America is a very confusing place. But this makes sense. Thanks!

It's worth pointing out that dud bombs were very common. Obviously this isn't shown in popular media. Games wouldn't work if bombs didn't explode for example. The axis had much more of a problem with duds than the allies due to less exact manufacturering. Deliberate sabotage (when slave labour was used) and due to lagging in certain technology and lacking in certain metals/materials that could make more reliable fuses. There are many examples of unexploded bombs which landed in houses, gardens etc. You could put this down to a miracle. You could put it down to random chance. Even though I'm catholic I assume if it was a mricicle and a devine hand was involved then the bomb wouldn't have went through the roof in the first place

@oueou8293 If English is your first language. I would spend more time perfecting it. Because it's very hard to read what your writing. I mostly couldn't understand your point at all. It was like reading a bad AI chat thing. I reiterate. I don't care. You can blame whatever cause you want. It's irrelevant. If it's because of religion then they are fighting over the little differences about a big story that may or may not have happened thousands of years ago. If it's about land ie property then they are fighting over decisions made by people who are long dead. It's all an excuse to fight. Nothing more. I singled out religion because that's the most consistant way of encouraging hatred that history has given us. "Kill the other guy, his version of god is a little different to ours!"

For none Americans / Mayanmars, that's 426 degrees of science. Bloody amazing.
1
@zoeyuroboros5739 no.... It's not. Look up the definition of steam punk. It is a style that references old technology. Old technology is not trying to be steam punk. It can't use steam punk references as by definition it was designed long before steam punk was created.
1
@blackbird8632 no, it's true some longstanding officers had guns they bought themselves. Lots bought their own for the boar war. For ww1 the webly was the standard side arm issued to officers and specialists. Supplimented by other guns to keep up with demand
1
@evanharrison4054 your a bloody genius. I'd suggest patenting that asap. But it would be against the law in most countries lol
1
Odds are they would just be thinking "what the frack is that thing your carry...... * Thud *"
1
@jakublulek3261 a small note. My grandfather just passed away. He was born in 1926 so grew up with the war. He worked on farms and had axis POWs working for him. There were also a detachment of Polish soldiers based in the local barracks. He always said the Germans were the hardest workers he ever met and the poles were the nicest. He used to trade with them and they taught him some useful skills like how to make his own fur lined boots. Just thought I'd share my daft story. And thank your grandad for his service. Oh. The training with wood etc does sound silly. But it was mainly done to keep soldiers busy. A busy soldier is a happy soldier and it was better than doing endless parade drill lol. It's not like they would have had to fend off the Germans with sticks.

What's a CCW?
1
Darwin award on standby
1
@bobbylee2853 does that mean if you watch a video about genocide your a mass murderer. Can't quite see your logic there. Also, in many countries you can go your entire life and never see a gun. I don't know how you could be into them as a result?
1
@jesusoftheapes donkeys?
1
I had to Google what the Chrysler building looked like. Worth it. That's a great image 🤣. I love the web. Lear werid stuff everyday
1
The question is... What is it good for?
1
Google: "Did you mean surrender of french culture" Before you jump on your highest horse. This is a joke.
1
"which end the bullet comes out of"... Well they know as much as 99.9% of English people. The .1% we hope don't breed.
1
What an amazing piece of pre civil war engineering! Thank you English civil law obviously
1
@connorross123 possibly because "Herald" in England just means someone who delivers news. Or is a paper (like the daily herald). So the "filthy herald" to an English person either means a chap with an odd name that smells. Or the local news that as been left in a middy puddle....
1
So is the 50 cal two and a half times the size of this?! Good lord.
1
What's the song playing in the background at the start?
1
@JordanFlayer just searched YT and that's the one :) thanks
1
I wonder if any gun company uses the tag line "the Kim's are gun guys. Buy our Czech copy guns!". . . I'm English. So I do genuinely wonder 🤣
1
The firearm and blade would get you in very serious trouble in England. For some reason the government here don't like people carrying things that are designed to kill people. Worth noting though. You'd not get life. Just more than a racist 😅 Side note. The whole "freedom" thing Americans get worked up about, just doesn't count here. To us it's like the idea of owning plutonium bombs. We've never being allowed to. So it's irrelevant to us.
1
As an Englishman I'd like to add that even what we think of silly mistakes now (like the smith and Wesson that's not a revolver)... Are still to this day lost on the audience of the UK that this movie was made for. I mean way more than 99% of people in the UK wouldn't think there was a single thing wrong with that line today. And that's with modern internet education.

The thing is. In most countries. Certainly in Europe. The criminals don't have guns. I can't remember the last time a crime involving a gun was reported on the news in my part of England. I remember a kid killing his 'friend' with his dad's gun. It was a big deal. About 20 years ago. I don't think America could put in place the gun control laws we have here. The horse has bolted on that one. But I'm sure any rational person agrees that there should be control. I mean, you wouldn't say that anyone has the right to own a nuclear weapon. Or build bombs or cultivate anthrax on an industrial scale. Or have a artillery piece and a stock of shells filled with sarin. Society has to have law and control to protect the safety and yes, freedom of the population. Even if that freedom is freedom to go about your daily life without fear that you'll be killed. As a side note. I'm what Americans call "pro gun". I would like to own one. Ideally a small hand gun. I'd like to buy one for reasonable money. I'd happily pay rent to keep it at a local shooting range (if one existed). And pay to pop down and enjoy shooting in the same way I could go to a golf driving range. Of course I'd register for a licence and happily submit my DNA and finger prints to a national database. I'm not a criminal so no issues there. I think that's perfectly rational and reasonable. And no need for the guns to be out in the public. Sadly I can't see it happening as there isn't the demand. Few people here have any interest in shooting a gun. Just like they don't on sumo wrestling. Or line dancing.

@jeffdishong7095 the point about being able to resist the government and the right to bare arms. I wonder, how is that an argument in the 21st century? You could give 90% of the population handheld firearms and they still wouldn't have much luck against a division of tanks. Much-less a modern air force. Plus. The experiment that is America has been proven. It works. Sure the trump lot last year tried to overthrow your democracy. But your democracy works. It's proven and you are justified in being proud in it. So why does one need to be armed incase of tyranny? After all it's never been a factor in the past. Historically democracies have collapsed into tyranny and despotism with popular support. Look at the fall of the Weimar Republic. Guns were common in Germany. Post ww1 the Frei corps were heavily armed and that didn't change in the late 20s. This actually helped the Nazis gain power. Not stop it. The same in Russia in 1917-25. The same in italy, the march on Rome wasn't contested by any members of the public with a ww1 rifle. The Blackshirts WERE the public with a ww1 rifle. So you have to ask. What's the biggest threat to American freedom and democracy. It's government which is said democracy. Or an armed populace that attempts to overthrow that democracy? In short. Isn't the right to bare arms the biggest threat to an Americans freedom? As mentioned in other post. I'm pro gun. I just don't see why control is a bad thing.
1
The description is just as good. Right down to the new address for forgotten weapons
1
Could anyone please explain to a humble Englishman. What a "carry gun" is. I assumed all guns were carried unless mounted to a vehicle or a stand of some kind. But now I'm sure I'm wrong.
1
@Shawn_the_Protogen thanks again for replying. It's nice to see someone online that will take time to reply and educate. Rather than just ridicule or dismiss someone wanting to learn! So am I undertanding correctly. That anyone can walk around in public with a gun? As in a real gun. Not a BB gun or a paintball gun. But a gun with bullets that are made to kill people? I know that criminals in Hollywood movies carry guns to beat the good guys. But is it actually legal for random people. Or like for police officers or something? Again. May seen obvious to you but over here in blighty. I'm fairly certain you can't walk around carrying a BB gun. In fact it's against the law to carry a knife in public (unless for a valid reason like your a delivery person and the knife is in a box 🤔). I think that's a recent law mind. Due to a huge rise in gang related attacks in our biggest cities, 15-20 years ago. I remember it on the news. Over 200 people were murdered in the UK by knives in the year. It was a big deal* Sorry to go off topic... I didn't want to get so serious/negative. Just interested in how you do things in America. I have no interest in knives btw 🤣. But history I love. Learning about guns is just another area I'm curious about. *I still worked in the NHS then. We were trained about increasing knife crime. It's still a problem. Averages around 300 people killed a year across England, Scotland, Wales and NI. if I remember rightly. :( Tragic :(
1
@Shawn_the_Protogen wow. Mind blown. I can't imagine what it would be like. Knowing other people around you were carrying guns in their pockets. Like a wallet or phone. Is that because there are still dangerous areas in the states? Like mountain lions or bears or something? That you'd need to have a way of killing easily.
1
Scary that in the USA you need a rifle to defend yourself. I've found this is the most shocking thing I've learnt about on this channel. Though I'm here for the engineering:) such a shame you guys in the US need these to be safe.
1
@fiskersproductions well yeah. You can do that in any country I can think of. I can certainly do it here in England. Not sure what your point is?
1
In England it would be pronounced as it's spelt. Ker not car....
1
For the sanitary of English people. The pronunciation is *English*. It would be said very differently by the other nationalities that make up Britain.
1
I wouldn't swap our gun laws for any other over here. But Its a shame there isn't an exemption for educational purposes to let Ian shoot this gun for us.
1
@terrastriker5684 where would they get a gun? It's very very difficult to do so in my country. And if a group of armed men managed to get in my house I can't see how it would help me to have a weapon. Could criminals get guns here? I'm sure they could. But using a firearm in a robbery takes it from a crime where you would get months in prison. To decades. Crime involving guns is very very serious even if nobody is actually shot. And if a group or even one armed person manages to force my door and enter my house. They can take what the hell they want. If they've come to kill me, I'm dead either way (though I live in middle class suburbia where as I said, such things don't happen.) As a side note. Saying something "could" happen isn't a reason for me to take leave of my senses and have a gun in the house. Putin could drop a chemical warhead on my town. I don't have an air tight bunker just incase and I think that's more likely than anyone with a gun wandering around my home town.
1
@jasonnorthcutt3771 well, my first thought would be to work out what 280 pounds means, and I would call the police. Not in that order.
1
@bcb5696 yes, I admit as a lower middle class self employed man who doesn't yet own his own home and has less than a week's wage in savings. I'm incredibly privileged and isolated. I'm also very lucky that I live in a place where such a chap would never think they need anything more than a locked door to feel safe. I did pour on the sarcasm there. But it's also all true
1
I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. End of the day they were designed to kill Humans who wanted to end Nazism. I'd not call that beautiful.... Impressive sure. But not beautiful
1
@maxcactus7 if only! I went to New York when I was in college. But I'd love to visit more of the US. Mainly see as much of your car culture as possible. We have very few American imports here. It'd be great to see lots of muscle cars and go to a range! Since watching this channel I have joined a local club here and done some shot gun shooting. Just clays. I've enjoyed that. Getting my firearms license is under way but it takes a long time and even then I certainly won't see hand gun's. So the 1911 will remain a mystery for now! :)
1
@7:20 anyone curious. 10 pounds is $12.80 USD as of today. 😊
1
To point out the obvious. It's not steampunk if it comes from the age of steam 😂
