She said the quiet part out loud. Being free did not get them the goal they wanted. So tyranny it is.

In reference to the creators being forced to do something they dislike, back during the Renaissance a sculptor, I think it was Michelangelo, was told by the commissioner of a piece that the nose on the statue was to large and that Mike should reduce it in size. Michelangelo knowing that from where the commissioner stood, they had the incorrect perspective of the piece from when it would be finished. But rather than argue with the man who paid the bills, Mike said yes. Grabbed his chisel and went to work. Tapping so gently that tiny grains of marble flaked off. The commissioner was please, leaving his own mark on the work. What he did not know is that Michelangelo had slyly hid in his hand that held the chisel, marble powder which he let poor from his hand with each tap of his hammer. Sometimes when you are an artist, you have to please your master. They too want to put their mark on the art. And why shouldnt they, they paid for it. But an artist should know how to defend their work. A smart man can do both at the same time.

The maps just show how little there is. Thats why they weren't there in the first place.

@vl3244 Yea I remember when Obama called me a potential terrorist because of my skin color and military back ground. You, my friend, have big blinders on if you think this started with Trump.

If the actual content creators got the revenue from the ads I would watch them. Not even going to lie about that. As far as Asmons last point about harming the earnings, the Atari v Colecovison lawsuit in the 1980s when colecovison had its atari emulator attachment, stated that Atari had no right to sue. Atari still made money from the games being sold. One could argue that if Google is still selling the data their business isnt being harmed. Settled law.

As a former union member I can tell you there are three parties involved here, the ports, the union members and the unions. The union workers dont care if there is automation. The union does. Automation means less union workers which means less union dues.

@Eclipse-lw4vf I am still playing games I bought in the 1980s. Not sure what you are talking about. Maybe you have only been purchasing games since downloads were a thing. But a lot of us actually own physical copies of games.

A lot of folks dont understand how games are funded. Microsoft doesnt open up their big Scrooge McDuck vault and hand studios money. It borrows money, like movie studios do, to finance games. The issue is over the last 15ish years, the interest rates have been damn near zero. That has all sort of distorting effects in markets. Since money was so cheap all sorts of studios that should never have existed, did. This is just a cleansing of things that never should have been. Because of the more expensive cost of money today, the industry is having to recalculate how they do their ROI on projects. This means a lot of studios, under the new business environment just are not going to survive. This is hitting all industries though, not just gaming. Its a repurposing of labor and capital. And it will be a long term good thing. It will eventually deliver a better product.

Most people dont remember the 80s. The Iran-Iraq war was so brutal, the Iranians used their children to clear minefields that the Iraqis laid to prevent invasion. Their leadership is beyond insane.

Thats what happens when people are always on electronics and PE classes are a joke.

I joined the Corps in the early 90s. On some domestic flights the airlines, specifically United and Alaskan, would tell me I couldnt fly in uniform. I was told if I wanted to fly I would have to take off my uniform so that the other people on the plane wouldnt feel threatened. On JAL flights, Korean Airlines, and on Emirates I not only was asked to board first in my uniform, they always upgraded me to first class. In the US, I would get called a baby killer often. And your father was correct, after 9/11 it completely changed.

This is straight like the early internet days where pop ups would flood your screen and any attempt to remove them would result in another pop up. And this time they get you to sign up for it. Diabolical.

@bumponalog5001 Your numbers are a bit off. 40ish percent of first marriages end in divorce. The 25% number is the number of first marriages that end in the first 5 years of said marriage. The hedonistic idiot comment is a bit nonsensical. People can divorce for any reason, and many due just because they see someone they think they like better. How you live your life cant stop them. You are at their mercy when it comes to them seeking a divorce.

I had the same back surgery, lumbar fusion, that this man did. 3 surgeries. It does change you. I needed pain meds just to be civil. Then congress decided that because there are physicians that give it out like candy, that no physician should be able to so pretty much all physicians stopped with pain management. Its one of the main reasons why heroine saw such a big come back. Often times its cheaper the Rx opioids.
41
No, its not that you werent good enough. Its that the government is trying to limit its liability post service. Currently the 6th largest Federal outlay is VA services.
30
@bbgoodnough actual bigger or smaller hit boxes. Different running speed. Smaller characters could get knocked down easier but could stay on opponents longer. It was a revolutionary character system. It really did add a lot to the game.

The bad CGI comment is on point. Look at Starship Troopers. Almost 30 years old and the CGI still holds. It looks better than Black Panthers end fight scene. Disney wants so much done, with the "correct" people doing it, that they are constantly left with an inferior product. The house of mouse is rotten to its core. I hope it falls in on itself.

Back in the early 80s, in Toys R US, shoplifting video games was so bad, they did the same thing. They kept all the video games in a cage near the exit. If you wanted to buy one, you had to pull a tag and then take it to the cage and pay them. Then they handed you a game.

@sableyez These dock workers make 88k minimum starting salary. If they make an extra 50% on this contract they will be making 132k starting. If someone cant live on that they are doing it wrong. But again thats not my point. You need to look at the median age of these port workers, its in the late 40s. Most of these guys will be retiring soon. The union members wont care if they automate because they have their pension. They wont lay people off just automate as people leave. The union will care be cause going from 45k members to 40 or 35k members, due to automation, will vastly reduce the money that the union has to do political contribution with. No one wants to lose their power.
25
@Devin-O They straight up tried to murder Rittenhouse. Irrespective of your political leanings, you lack any and all common sense. I carry everyday. No one has an issue with it. Your position is moronic.
23
Soulless art isnt art. Its simply content.
21
@seanemery6019 its not bunk. You just dont like my point. which is fine. You dont have to. But that is my point. If a content creators content is demonetized, which youtube has a right to do, then they shouldnt be making money off it. Especially when they retroactively remonitize it after the majority of people have already watched it. The creator should get that money back. And they dont currently.

The needing to buy an Anime Expo ticket is like the dead donkey raffle. Guy sees a farmer with a dead donkey and says I will buy that off you for a silver. Farmer says what? its a dead donkey. The guy doesnt care. So the farmer says ok. Guy goes into town and posts fliers about a raffle for a donkey for one silver per entry. Gets tons of people who want said donkey making hundreds of silver. Then the lucky indivudal wins the raffle and comes to collect his donkey only to find it dead. So the guy says, look im sorry, it died, but I will do you a solid. Heres 10 silver for your trouble. Raffle winner is like wow, thanks. Meanwhile the guy who started the raffle walks off with a bag of silver. This company is just like that. Shysters, the lot of them.

Dude has a 90 IQ but thinks hes a genius. Thats all this is.
11
@Mike-8404 its irrelevant where the physicians were. The fact they didnt just discipline the physicians that were doing wrong, they put handcuffs on the whole system. Thats the issue. And as a vet, the VA is one of the few places you dont get labeled "drug seeker" simply for mentioning chronic pain.
11
Wikipedia complaining about information warfare. Thats funny.
10
@무군 congrats, you have given a perfect example of actual prejudice. Its rare these days.
9
@Pedgo1986 Its going to get done like Mass Effect Andromeda. It will just be dropped by command of the corporate overlords. Bethesda and Microsoft ,with the Fallout show being so popular, is now going to focus all on that. Can you imagine spending a decade to make a game and Starfield is the result. Its just sad. We really need a 1984 style cleansing event in gaming.
9
@kuen428 thats just false. Have you seen how much a Hersheys bar is today? You can buy a bag of pre made salad for 5 bucks that serves 4.
9
There is so much space. In just the state of Texas you have enough room to give 171 million people their own acre of land. So you can fit half the US population in the state of Texas with enough land for them to grow all the food they need to live, per person, so a family of four would have 4 acres.

A key and important aspect of digital ownership is what happens to those assets when you die. My father was a huge audiophile. Had he existed in this time period perhaps much or all his music would have been purchased digitally and not on vinyl. What would have happened to said assets when he died? If its like other digital sellers, even accessing them with his passwords would be illegal under current user agreements. This is indeed about property rights. This goes for all the photos shared online as well, not just video games.

When you attack, or threaten to attack, a mans livelihood he drops the mask and shows you who he really is. You must be very young not to know this, respectfully.
7
@bbgoodnough the only other game I saw that was even remotely close was Oblivion. But considering the current climate of things, I dont think that you could adjust stats along gender lines in a game, well at least not from an American producer. Japanese dont care though. Got to love them for that though. Games are art.
7
l'm enough to remember when cable was ad free. Its why you paid for it. It paid for the service. If you have a paid service and you have to put ads in it you are not running your business right, you are charging to little or you are overly burdened by regulations or taxation.
7
@Chihirolee3 They may have been successful via the old ROI math. We dont have those numbers. But just because a game sells well, that is really only half the calculation. You have to look at shop overhead. You dont know what those studios are spending money on, neither do I. As I stated, cheap money has allowed for all sorts of nonsense in many different fields. Is it possible that corporate overlords have favorites and are making choices based on that? Maybe. But do you think those kind of business choices will lead to long to long term success? The end result would be the same culling, which is really long overdue. My reasoning is sound. Its why I was able to retire at 45.
6
@seanemery6019 explain to me how there are ads on videos that are demonetized?
6
The issue isnt it being reformed. Its the fact that each school district has a legion of "support personnel" that do nothing. Why does a elementary school need a lawyer or a diversity inclusion expert? All of these things take away resources from educators. And not to mention that most educators are piss poor because the ones with any sense get out as soon as possible. I know I did when California told me I couldnt teach history because it would hurt peoples feelings. Parents dont care enough to stand up to the school boards and politicians just want money to go where it will get them the most votes. Its why I home schooled my kids and they graduated 3 years early.
6
@johnc8383 tyrants dont typically say, "I want tyranny. You judge them by their deeds. But use caps more, no one can hear you way in the back anyways.
5
@averiagaskin181 I travel every year during the summer all across the country. The last few years every single 3 star and below hotel has been damn near booked solid in most major cities. Why? Illegals.
5
@Devin-O I was 17 when I joined the Corps. They sent me all sorts of places. Even in high school we would take our long guns to school, the principal would hold them until after school when we would go hunting. This was in California. It wasnt an issue. Im only 49 so this isnt ancient history. You lack sense because you like so many others place the blame on the weapon. The weapon is just a tool. People are responsible for their actions, even minors. Rittenhouse showed great restraint and amazing trigger discipline, better than a lot of Marines I served with. Then you go to say people shouldnt be in certain places. Thats a slave mentality. Perhaps you are ok living in that society, I am not. And I will stand against you and those who would want that. So, I guess I will see you on the field.
5
lol but they pay taxes.

@Juwce_86 it's wild sargon is considered right at all. He, like many others, is center left politically. The far left tars anyone who disagree with them as far right.

This is clearly inspired from the Sphinx in Never Ending Story from the 1980s. Has nothing to do with being sexualized. Traditionally the Sphinx had just the head of a woman on a lion body, but in the Never Ending Story, the Sphinx were given a complete female bust attached to a lions body.
4
@johnc8383 I don't judge words, I judge actions.

Nah, the issue with most people, children or adult, is they do to little physical activity. Many people dont even walk 3 miles in a day total steps. We were built to walk.

There was a story that was required reading in the 80s and 90s in the US in junior high, Animal Farm. In that story, which was about communism, there was a horse. This horse, whose name was Boxer, was incredibly strong, loyal and believed he worked for the betterment of the whole farm. He would work harder than any animal. But eventually exhausted and worn down from the endless, and thankless, toil he was sent to the Knacker, to be made into glue so the pigs could have whiskey because Boxer was no longer "pulling his weight" on the farm. Thats whats happened to many men. And those left have seen it and will not let it happen to them. I am not really sure why more people cant see this. But Animal Farm isnt required reading in schools anymore. I wonder why?

@marg7772 The invisible hand of the market is just the individual choices of the millions of capital markets, producers and purchasers. They all lead to a choice. Sometimes one, sometime a few sometimes many. And any little change in those individuals choices can have massive effects on the market. But in the end its just individual choices.

@TheWalkThrewer sure I would. Many youtube channels are literally just ads. Most of the hiking channels I watch are literally all ads for new gear. I think its amusing you know what other people will and wont do though.
3
These people are like the Great Nothing from the Never Ending Story. They do not create they seek to undo creative acts.

He needs to sue the university that employed the man who assaulted him.
