  3. The biggest problem with Star Wars is the same as the rest of Hollywood, crap writers. Most movies dont even have a writer. They have a team of writers cobbling together a story with a checklist of things they are required to put it. You dont get good stories that way. You do get propaganda and self inserts though, which is what both the writers and higher ups want.

  12. Explain to me the difference between moving a factory overseas or repatriating it but then staffing it with foreign workers? There isnt one. Then add to that the increased competition for goods and services here in that area that the increased immigration causes and the depression to the wages that foreign workers cause. If they need H1B visa workers it should be required that they invest in Americans to train them to do the work as well. For every H1B visa then need to have a scholarship program for one American. That would very quickly sort this "shortage" out. You could even make that scholarship money tax deductible so it wouldnt hurt the company. All of these problems exist on purpose. To keep the plebs fighting each other.

  13. Back when Reagan was shot when they got him to the hospital, he told his detail he wanted to walk out to make sure America and the Soviets knew he was ok. As soon as he got in the Emergency room though he collapsed to the floor. Trump is old enough to remember that. And knows how important image is. The left wants illegal immigration to offset the losses of children not born simply to pad their states numbers for the electoral college. This isnt about human rights or companies needing labor. Its just about the electoral college. If JD wins in 2028, and continues the deportations, come the 2030 census, along with the massive outflow of people from leftist states, there will be a cataclysmic shift in the electoral college.

  25. You need to understand the difference between nominal and real dollars. If you took that .99 cent a gallon gasoline and sold it at the same real value with 2023 dollars it would cost $4.20 US. Then you would need to adjust for all the new taxes in California so add a $1.50 at least.

  26. I remember back when games were 45 bucks or so and they said additional content would cost extra so that more people could purchase the initial game. But then the creep happened and they bumped prices up to 60 for the game and still kept charging for additional content. But I am old enough to remember buying games on 5 1/4 inch floppies at places like Babbage's in ziplock plastic bags in the early 80s. A lot of change in the games industry since then.

  28. Thats judge isnt wrong. Its horrible to deport these individuals without a hearing. That said, this is part of the correction. For so long, over 40 years, the left has protected and enabled illegal immigration. This is the correction. And when something that shouldnt happen does, and for to long, the swing back in the opposite direction is always an over correction. Thats what is happening today. And most dont feel bad about it because they have been taken advantage of for so long.

But I think a lot of people either dont see or ignoring that probably a lot of these people never even went before a judge, some of them though its probably their own fault. That said, I bet there are more than 20 million here. It was 10 million in 2003 when Bush was trying to address it. They keep saying 10 to 12 million. But its way way more. If its 20 million, thats almost 6 percent of the US population.

  31. Let me say first, I am against illegal immigration. But the US Constitution doesnt give anyone rights. It limits the Federal governments authority over both people and the states. That said they do not have citizens rights, they cant vote. At least not legally. Though the left is trying to change that. The left largely is for illegal immigration to help tilt the House of Reps in their direction. Constitution counts all people in a state, not just citizens. So bring in more non citizens, get more representatives. Took a while for Republicans to figure that out.

I've kept all my games and all my game systems going back to when I first started gaming in 1978. My first console was a Magnavox Odyssey 3000. Unfortunately I dont have all the boxes which seriously degrade the value. But I keep them because I enjoy playing them occasionally. Yar's Revenge and Reactor are two of my old school game favorites.

  36. Since the dept of education was created, education levels have dropped and so standards have dropped to maintain graduation rates. Its a failure. Schools should be controlled at the local level by school districts. Much of what the Dept of Education did was social engineering. That said its budget is a rounding error in the vast sum that the Federal government spends.

But this typically happens every 250 - 300 years. Nations rise grow strong and collapse. Rinse and repeat. But post WWII lifted most developed nations. And post Soviet collapse lifted every nation. That plus how the internet and cell phones link everyone our society, even if insulated in nation states, has become truly global. The collapse will be as well. The question is without a torch holder, will this collapse be like the dark ages after the fall of the Roman Empire or the Bronze Age collapse or will it be gentler?

  42. This is what happens when you dont hold kids back when they need to be. You are just looking at people who care about metrics and what the race, religion, gender of the students are. If the wrong students are failing push them through. Cant have the school or the district look bad. But the actual kids, whatever. Its why I have long said, the public school system is a works program. If the students learn anything, thats just a happy accident. You ever see the freeways and the roads when school isnt in, like winter and spring breaks? They are a god damn ghost town.

  45. You are right about viewership. Both of my sons have left the house, 18 and 21, neither watches TV. Its all online stuff. Just recently got my mom to finally cut the cable. She still watches stuff via Roku. But if my 80 year old mother is changing, so are a lot of other younger folks. I cant remember the last time I watched cable TV, maybe Sharknado 3? How long ago was that? The internet allows for niche content. Something that just doesnt work at scale for cable. Its why everything on TV is the same. They need every single person they can get to watch. And in doing so sterilize anything they produce.

  46. Many of us are opposed to intervention because we know nothing will come from it. Congress, since WWII, has only allowed half measures. I lost a lot of friends during the GWOT. I spent a lot of time away from home. I dont want that for the young bucks in the military today. Fighting low intensity wars, politicized at home, with no resolution planned or wanted. Its just a waste of blood and treasure. Now if we were going to go in there and just "de revolutionize" that country and return sanity to Persia, I think we might be able to get buy in from the other local nations. But the US should not take the lead.

  50. That guy is a moron. The US didnt want to be the "hall monitor" of the world. It cobbled together a global alliance using trade as the carrot to contain the Soviet Union. And it worked beautifully. The problem started during the Clinton years. The Soviet Union was gone. The US should have dropped the alliance but there were to many vested interests world wide. Now, over 30 years later, we are still trying to fight against the international order. And these same people blame the US for it. Its why when Trump says something like, no more money for Ukraine, thats a Europe problem, people in Europe scream. Its just vestetd interests. But, largely speaking, the US public, wants nothing to do with it.
