I had a friend who inherited a motorhome a few years ago & had a blowout under some of the best of the best of circumstances… in a large metropolitan area of the south… & had to wait 6 hours for a used tire that cost $650. He sold the motorhome the following week.

  13. There are a few YouTuber who live in their cars, & say it would be more difficult & more expensive to do what they do in a bigger vehicle. Some folks are more comfortable with less, & that’s why they’re in their cars. Most their subs don’t listen, tho.

  20. I love festivals & will be going to one this month. Friends who were going, are starting to back out. However, I think has more to do with the after effects of quarantine & having grown accustomed to staying home. One thing’s for certain, when my time is up, it won’t be in no movie theater — nothing puts me out faster than movies that were made in these last three decades.

  22. 13 years ago I had been house sitting on the other side of the peninsula, & had taken the ferry back to avoid traffic, only to find that the causeway had been shut down. So I pulled over & went to sleep. Couple hours later I got a rude awakening by a cop… I had no idea that it was illegal to sleep inside your own vehicle.

  29. I’ve watched my neighbors & one of my sisters transform right before my very eyes. My neighbor was a sweet little lady, then one day she just became enraged, & it lasted until her death in 2021. Reminded me of The Exorcist, but her caretaker said it was because she would only watch a certain “news” channel all day. Guess it made her feel like she was participating in life, to some degree.

  30. I’m in Texas & have been getting 2-6 inquiries every week from people who have older campers. Unfortunately I’m not able to help because the city annexed my place years ago.. & now that they offer some city services, the city’s initial fees are double what the contractors are wanting. I know four people with older campers who took off to AR, IL, & Louisiana, to find more camper friendly spaces.

  32. My place went from gorgeous farming community 30 years ago to various government utility sites. My only two neighbors (one literally 15’ from my house for over 20 years) never knew I had cancer for nearly two years after the fact. To be fair, I only hear of their misfortunes weeks or months afterward.

  34. BMW & Mercedes is dealerships only service. Once anyone else touches it, they’ll refuse to do any work or maintenance on them. Thankfully my neighbor explained this when I was wanting to purchase his.

  36. As a lifelong animal advocate & 50 years of petsitting, I can’t imagine anything more stressful than being on the road full time with an untrained dog. For a more stress-free lifestyle, start training how to walk on a leash & come when called as soon as pet is acquired. Don’t train for more than 15 minutes at a time, but daily consistency is a must, & separate from any distractions. I trained a wild feral dog, that had ran with a pack for over a year, by working with her 3x a day for 3 weeks… also, I lost an average of a pound a day. The first week I swore she was getting worse, but by the third week, no one could believe it was the same dog.

  37. I know state & county paper pushers who share the same healthcare plan as congress. And it’s funny how they don’t want to share the same plans with us peons. They’ve straight up told me that their care would suffer if it was available to everyone.

  39.  @GratefulWarriorMom Honestly, I wouldn’t attempt to take a 1990 anything on the road. Anything older than 2006 is extremely difficult to get parts for. I’ve always had older vehicles, but the parts they’re making nowadays don’t usually survive the shipping.

  42. IDk if the doctor has ever experienced heat stroke, but it comes on abruptly. For me it’s a slight headache, followed by dizziness, & then the need to vomit. I’m outdoors in south tx all day long, & this has been my afternoon standard since June.

  45. A friend of mine has been on the road 14 years, he comes back to Texas every January, where he remains for a month or two. He always reports back who’s all parked at the camp grounds. It appears, in the mid west, it’s lots of poor families. In Texas, the majority of rv parks don’t allow any rigs over 10 yrs old, & they get premium prices for their spots; $600 & up. Electric’s extra.

Just watched a documentary about the homeless, & they interviewed some poor disabled woman from her driver’s door, she had overheard an officer asking people in a tent why the had salt & pepper shakers, they said to season to their food, & he says, “Well, I have a house & that’s why I have shakers.” I was waiting for someone to comment on some of their nails… I was a manicurist, I’m pretty sure they were $1 press-on nails.
