Those poor kids, they must be indoctrinated: "Elon BAaaad" as fast as possible or they may be forever lost from the one true narrative.

@casualgamer1209 Surely the sarcasm was obvious?
1
@casualgamer1209 I could have been more articulate.
1
Sandy has too.
1
Only the parking at end was painful to watch, seems that would be easy.
1
@IndaloMan She doesn't get as much beaver attention as she craves.
1
"There's a shh...(shit load) tremendous amount of buttons...." 4:28 😄

Extra interesting segment.

More like $0.20/share, they are apparently just attempting to limp it along long enough to sell out. Not a chance this fake Co. will ever accomplish anything other than it was originally designed to--fleece the naïve and reckless looking for the next Tesla which doesn't and never will exist, although some Chinese names may thrive.
1
At engineering level he's very hard driving, takes a certain type, passion and devotion, will consume most of your life. Anecdote from one engineer: "Got burned out, left Tesla, got bored at new job and decided to come back to Tesla, "better burned out then bored."
1
@piccalillipit9211 Right, and it's not as tho it was only Trevor Milton and his slightly less obviously fraudulent, but blatantly sleazy side kick, Marc whatever. Everyone above janitor had to be in on it at some level. And those guys taking Sandy Munro around the farce factory were anything but impressive, they looked like deadbeats to me, but my bias and low expectations colored my impressions. Any decent engineer never even signed up in the first place.
1
@piccalillipit9211 Love Sandy but he's not always impressive either, I believe he's just wrong about H potential. I too didn't suffer the entire vid but intend to go back to at least spot check it. It will be interesting to see how Sandy sums up his experience there.
1
@piccalillipit9211 He's had a long standing "infatuation" with H. I think Sandy has far more integrity than that, IF you are suggesting he's for sale. If he's paid he will be upfront about it, I think it's about actually wanting to see for himself what if anything worthwhile is going on there. Also for some popular YT content, by now his channel must be becoming significant for his biz and I think he has grown to enjoy it and the celebrity attatched. Any deliberate deception will be very damaging if not total destruction of his standing among viewers, customers, etc. That doesn't mean he can't be wrong or fooled tho.
1
@piccalillipit9211 By one study--out of some 3 dozen attributes of "everyday millionaires"...can you guess the most crucial quality they share? Integrity
1
@piccalillipit9211 I believe this is a multi segment Munro production....we'll see but I think there's a high probability that Sandy will toss some severe shade on Nikola, don't assume that he's taken in by them just because he's there.
1
IDT that would work.
1
@magnusauto7941 Look how the candles behave, they don't light eachother, get a clue. (doubt you know squat about physics either)
1
Corry is on the map now! 6:15 :D
1
@ke6gwf How? Rivets are sometimes used but they have some obvious drawbacks and not sure if they are actually faster to assemble--assembly ease and speed is THE ONLY reason Sandy favors cheesy snap together crap, it's good enough for light plastic parts typically. I've worked on or around 100's of semi trucks and they are always bolted together thank god, can be a pain in the as anyway but if you can't undo a fastener and redo it?....then it's really the shits.
1
@johnpayne8223 Still bolts. Those are the one's that have a one use nut that locks into hole so you don't need to put a wrench on both sides? If I'm not mistaken they are a bit of a headache to take apart at least compared to regular bolts.
1
@ke6gwf You are talking in general terms, NO WAY you can say any of that in regards to THIS case based on THESE images. Do you have the entire CAD details? Done the engineering analysis? Supplier and costs numbers? NOPE...so you are talking out your ass as regards to THIS instance.
1
@ke6gwf BULLSHIT. You cannot "tell by the sheer number of bolts" you are being obstinate, and with THAT, I'm done with this childishness.
1
@3nityC Sarcasm or you didn't read my comments? ;-) I guess you could take it that way based on this thread, I wouldn't pay a dime for a dozen shares of NKLA.
1
@zerosugarmatcha7348 Some are even stupid. It's an "argument from authority" which I never use. Your piping in here tells me you don't have a life either.
1
Originally 4680's were to be thermally controlled only from the bottom. (so I thought)
1
@omnicurious2949 "Most important"? probably not, magnets seem more impressive, but I too was surprised as 'we all knew' long ago about the high tension wrapped rotor.
1
@henryD9363 I can't argue with that tho I'm not prepared to go that far. I'd say he hasn't considered the economic case at all from what I can tell. Certainly not here. The ppl he interacted in this series with did NOT impress me favorably either, partly my bias but nobody there I'd hire based on this token glance.

@alanlight7740 Yeah all that about the Starship and melting points is utterly irrelevant to a truck. SS will require some 18% chromium which is extremely expensive and a lot on nickel which is also pricey and likely to be in short supply due to massive batt ramp up in coming yr.s. SS is not necessarily easier to weld than aluminum and it distorts severely when welded. Every modern truck uses Al alloy wheels for good reason, it could also serve as the body quite well with only scratching and possibly corrosion concerns. Have you ever wrestled with a door when a truck is parked at a moderate tilt? It happens a lot off road and those CT doors are going to be twice as heavy, are they planning to power the doors?...I suspect they may have to just for safety and that adds a pile of extra cost and complexity. Same for the tailgate which will likely be triple the mass of traditional ones with the ramps incorporated.
1
@alanlight7740 In this case "economies of scale" are going to work against you--no getting around the expensive elements in such steels, consuming a LOT MORE can only drive the price of the metals higher. SS is insanely expensive due to the inherently expensive metals required, no amount of consumption is going to help with that.
1
@alanlight7740 "Insanely" may be an overstatement but go shop the stuff for a project and you'll quickly figure out why it's almost never used in structural applications outside of food grade or other special cases. It sure seems insane if you want to build anything significant from it as I have done. It would be real nice to have something last forever without any corrosion protection yet it's never done at scale. I believe Tesla will be using a 400 series (higher alloy more expensive) not 300 but I forget the specifics by now. 3mm thick certainly IS 'insane' for body panels with any type of steel, that's about double the thickness of typical lt. truck frames today and more like 10X modern body panels. Doors, lids, tailgates are not going to be structural elements they are going to be dead wt. and somewhat hazardous if not powered at 2 or 3X heavier than conventional doors which are already problematic in off road use....but of course most truck owners are posers and don't actually use them as trucks. I don't know what sort of neighborhood you live in but I've never had a vehicle shot at, bullet "proof" isn't a goal for me, practicality IS. I'm a big believer in Elon and Tesla but that doesn't mean I give them a blank check.

600 Chinese EV startups will be whittled down to a dozen in a decade or so.
1
Save all your money and buy TSLA. :D
1
@arizonajon5070 I hear you, I don't much miss them personally but it's no brainer NO DELETE. :D My old BMWs have sprung folding handles, non protruding but useful if u know it's there...for sporty driving or ingress/egress.
1
If the CCP nationalizes Tesla I just hope Elon goes out of China Franscisco Dianaconia (sp?) style--leave nothing but rubble behind.
1
@Shakazuloeman Oh...I missed the context, thanks.
1
@Shakazuloeman CT should relatively soon be prime subject of Munro, and later I HOPE the semi.
1
Biden is already done for next election as far as I'm concerned
1
@thealienrobotanthropologist Great points. Maybe Tesla should offer a serious winter package someday. REAL Winter issues like that I no longer have to deal with much, but other climates, I can see your point.
1
@ariip It doesn't thaw the door handles in many situations, that's the point.
1
@danieldeblasio9368 Figured you'd be tuned into that market, go for it, we all gotta start somewhere.
1
@rogerstarkey5390 Think he meant two plaid shirts and a horse.
1
@VK-jc3zd If you had a $12B tax bill and were already $1B in debt don't you think you'd be selling some? Elon has purchased more than he has sold since the 1st shares he ever sold a month or so ago. If you are deterred by THAT ignorant noise then that explains why you are penniless. ;-)
1
Vilifying oil companies is about as childishly indoctrinated and simple minded as one can get.
1
There were over 60 USA motorcycle companies at one time, much later--40 odd hang glider mfgs, and so on. (500 car mfgs is news to me tho, lol)
1
@andrewm8531 Any locking cover is rubbish compared to powered CT cover. Efficiency always matters if money matters. Yes you'll need faster charging speed and more money due to poor efficiency. Most charge at home overnight almost all the time, many haven't used public charger in yrs, then charging sp is irrelevant....until a rare road trip. Still the CT needs to improve on charge spd and range, it will to some degree w over the air updates. It will get better in everyway w OTA updates, they always do. How often do U tow? Most don't at all. Someone has to buy a the cheesy chrome plastic grandma's grocery getter PUs, ie., all brands not Tesla. Go for it, choice is good.
1
@chrishaberbosch1029 And the CT is temporarily price inflated due to demand vs supply, Chevy is not. CT will come significantly down in price while becoming better in most every way. And what about parts after GM goes belly up w only a few 10,000 of these out there?
1
Sandy called structural batt pack a "brick" since revealed. I'm guessing it's structurally overkill based on what we see here, Elon said it was a C- iteration on an A fundamental design, bet they'll lighten it over couple yrs.
1
@GoCoyote OIC...only spot checked it wasn't that interested in the whole thing. No question there is room for many players in that space. As for a viable company, that's a whole nother thing.
1
@kaasman78 Great point. Also he might have criticized most OEMs half as much for excess construction complexity and so on.
