  16. The claim that in the 1970s, a global cooling has been predicated is based on Peter Gwynne Newsweek article in Apr 28, 1975. There were similar articles in Time Magazine, National Geographic, the New York Times. The article is based on facts. From the 1940s to the 1970s, global average temperature was going down. We now know that the reason is soot and aerosols. That has settled out and by the 1980s, there is an upturn and the planet is warming back up and it is rising at a rather rapid pace just like the CO2 level is rising at a rapid pace. Also, climate science was still rudimentary in the 1970s. The number of scientists who though we were heading for an ice age was small and they were correct. We should be in an ice age period. Another larger group of scientists were factoring in human activity and though the planet should be warming up. So, the large group ended up being correct as from the 1980s and onward, global average temperature is just going up.

Also, get some jet fighters, air craft carriers, nuclear weapons. Canada should be a real first world country. If the Consrvatives can do it, I would vote for them.

  20. It has been a few years that I buy mostly second hand cloths except for a few t-shirts. I have bought new socks and underwear. The second hand stores have A LOT OF women clothing and shoes. Oh ya, I bought second hand shoes and running shoes and boots.

  25. I didn't see NATO in the video. It looks like Libya has an army or something and they are shooting each other for some unknown reason. The same thing happened in Afghanistan. It is just one group of citizens shooting at other citizens. Iraq has the same issue. It is various citizens shooing at each other. There is one group called the ISIS that is also shooting everybody. The same thing happened in Syria. These guys don't know how to run a country. Ireland was also in such a situation. For about 20 y, catholics and protestants were shooting at each other. Now, the new kids are watching the news from the 1980s and they are surprised that the citizens are shooting at each other. The solution was simple. I think in 1998, they voted to either continue fighting or making peace. 70% voted for peace. By some miracle, the 30% decided to relax and put their guns away. The result was peace for about 20 y.

  28. The temperature is rising pretty fast for the last 100 y and it matches up witht he rapid increase of CO2. Ice age cycles happen at a much slower pace.

Back then, it was a period when a thought crossed someone’s mind “Hey, let’s have people breath in mercury vapors or let’s apply mercury chloride to our faces. Probably mercury has some healing powers since it is a special looking substance.” and immediately, the idea was picked up by others. It’s the same with the idea of healing crystals, quartz, beryl, ruby and such. To ancient people, these objects looked special. I agree, they certainly looked different than the dirt and various rocks around us. I guess the idea crossed someone’s mind that if you wear it around your neck, it heals you. ...to be continued.

The current issue is that large amounts of CO2 is being released, the planet is warming rapidly, the acidity of the oceans is going up rapidly. Problems do happen naturally. We can't do anything about that. We can only do something about the problems we cause.

  32. It is not pleasant when it happens to you. I’m armenian, in Quebec. When I went to high school, I received great grades in a certain class and the teacher had promised to give 2$ each week to the best grade. I think we did a test each week? Anyway, this was in 1994. He made that promise at the beginning, so he did not know who knows how much. For me, the class was easy since I study at home and know the subject for years. So, I was getting 100% each time and winning each weak. The teacher was french. Then, he started making silly reasons to take off marks. The line we make on the left side, top to bottom is 2 mm to the left and other nonsense.

It is sort of like cutting down a forest and building a village or city over it. The large number of humans will release waste and it goes to the river.   39. Dumping more money into it is one solution but a more sensible solution is to move away from this notion that doctors and lawyers need to make twice as much money as the average person. Reduce their salaries, reduce the salaries of nurses. Use that money to hire more doctors and nurses and the wait time for patients will go down, the work load on doctors will go down.

I would suggest using public transportation and using a bicycle during the summer. That's what I do. Also, I can afford a car but I don't have a license. I heard that a car can cost 8000$/y while a bus card will cost 1400$/y. Peddle power is the best. You get exercise. No need to pay insurance. You aren't polluting nature with hydrocarbons and CO2. Once in a while the police stops you and gives you a ticket for driving on the wrong side or something. That's life in the big city.

Your banker inputs numbers and dates into a form and the software gives a yes or a no. The same thing is done with the stock market. Magically, the value of stock goes up and down.

It is made of 2 sugar molecules and in this case, it is made of a glucose unit and a fructose unit. Our body starts by breaking it into the monosaccarides. I don't know the rest of the biochemistry.
