"policeman" is not a particularly dangerous job (is not even in the top ten, and most dangers for cops are due to car accidents). For some reason it doesn't happen to paramedics to inject air into car accident victims out of stress, or to firemen to smash people's heads with their axes out of stress.

  22.  @Baconrips  You don't need to guess. What happened, what the cops saw, is all in the camera. After she yelled "taser" he was only covering his head with his arms. There was no immediate treat. Cops are supposed to react to real treats, not projected ones. The REAL situation was a single, skinny, unarmed one vs three fully armed cops, and there was not a single reason to suppose it was otherwise.

  24. Actually Zelensky made HUGE mistakes at the start of the war. He didn't mobilize, despite the warnings of US and British intelligence, to not seem "aggressive". Had him at least prepared a defence, the south of the country would have been easily defended. There is a grand total of 7 roads linking Crimea to the continent. Five pass over bridges, and the other two are surrounded by marshes. It would have been easy to cut all of them, and keep Kherson, Mikolaiv, Mariupol and the Zaporizhzhia power plant in Ukrainian hands. Even failing to do so, Kherson is linked to the east of the Dnepr by 3 bridges. It only needed to cut them to not lose the city.

It's not economically viable to use an expensive missile to shoot down an inexpensive drone. Who launches the drone wins in any case. It's like the drone is his anti-missile weapon. But drones are slow and relatively low flying, so they are vulnerable to inexpensive projectiles. Old radar-guided or optronic AA guns, like the M163 and M167 the US phased out in 1994, or the SIDAM 25 the Italians put in storage a pair of decades ago. Those drones can only hit fixed and relatively large targets (like powerplants), so the number of possilbe valuable targets to protect is pretty limited.

  41. Yeah. The situation in the Donbass is one classic in which the Russian are keeping on attacking, because loosing the initiative would be disastrous. So to divert troops from there is a big "no", and there's nothing sizable left anywere else. Russians have to patch the frontline in Kursk with ragtag formations of marines, Kadyrovites, conscripts... that have problems even in communicating each-other.

But Ukrainians advised that, to keep that ratio, the Russians were losing guns at a record pace. Already a year ago 3/1 meant they were on par in effectiveness, since Ukrainian artillery is far more accurate. Since then Russians started to use abysmal quality North Korean shells, and to bring more antiques to the frontline to replace the guns they lost.

It would have taken a pair of dozens of missiles like those to bypass the AA defenses of a western destroyer (not even a cruiser). They prefer to appear stupid than weak.

  45.  @АндрейКаминский-г9в  Or, in case of the Russian, before the war swearing there is not going to be any war, then, after having attacked by surprise, forbid to call it a war under treat of prison, then, when the war is approaching one year lenght, scold your citizen for not having still understood that's a war not with Ukraine but with NATO (that curiously had not yet employed a single soldier, ship, tank or aircraft).
