At that point the taser was less dangerous than a water gun, but he took three bullets in the back anyway.

After she yelled "taser" he was only covering his head with his arms. There was no immediate treat. Cops are supposed to react to real treats, not projected ones. The REAL situation was a single, skinny, unarmed one vs three fully armed cops, and there was not a single reason to suppose it was otherwise.

  43. No need. Until now Ukrainian air defenses concentrated on ballistic missiles. To intercept a missile you need a missile, and AA missiles are expensive. It's not economically viable to use an expensive missile to shoot down an inexpensive drone. Who launches the drone wins in any case. It's like the drone is his anti-missile weapon. But drones are slow and relatively low flying, so they are vulnerable to inexpensive projectiles. Old radar-guided or optronic AA guns, like the M163 and M167 the US phased out in 1994, or the SIDAM 25 the Italians put in storage a pair of decades ago. Those drones can only hit fixed and relatively large targets (like powerplants), so the number of possilbe valuable targets is pretty limited.
