Both of these tigers were wild but were accused of man eating and hence brought to the zoo. So yeah, if a female tries to challenge the male's dominance, she dies. The male doesn't care, his territory overlaps with that of many tigresses who are willing to raise his cubs, those who challenge his wish meet horrible fates. More such cases have been witnessed both in the wild and in zoos. In 2021, a female Sumatran tiger was attacked and killed by a male Sumatran tiger in Tacoma Zoo in USA, a male tiger killed a potential mate in England's London Zoo in 2019.
