  1. Annodite True. The least you can do when considering an off-roader BMW is buy an X5 rather than an X6. The people around you will thank you, as will your wallet and the people and luggage you'll be carrying around. The same logic applies to the X3 and X4.

  12. American cars may be more powerful, but they're heavier too. And they don't corner. And while fuel may be twice as expensive here in Europe, your cars use twice as much, negating the advantage.

  24. James Knott I didn't actually like it at first, mainly because I was 13 when I first saw it and still watched Top Gear largely for the action. However, I later learnt to appreciate the beauty of calmness, and when I rewatched it, I was struck by how beautiful, how marvellous, even, it was. I love it.

  25. +Kratos He's a great bloke, but being American automatically disqualifies him from being a good Top Gear presenter. That's not to say he wouldn't do well on some other car show, just not Top Gear.

  27. Harold-Sweat-Head No car is ugly. Whether you like its design or not is determined by your personal taste. Or at least, that's the case in special and good designs. Take, for instance, the Ferrari 458 and the McLaren MP4-12C. Pretty much no-one will ever call the McLaren ugly; it's a very solid and elegant design. The Ferrari, on the other hand, has a much more polarising design. That said, the Ferrari is considered prettier than the McLaren, because it's not just 'good-looking', it's great-looking. If you like it. And that's also why big French cars are generally good designs.

  32. donkgated That's not true. The Marauder was built specifically to survive bombs and stuff. The Hilux was built for moving stuff about and whatever people do wtih pickup trucks, yet it's that durable and reliable. That's how you know quality.
