She's had contact with humans before, her horn is filed down to deter poachers, that needs to be done under anesthetic... plus she lives in Kruger NP, she'd have a number/name and possibly armed guards, to keep her safe, from poachers, also she probably sees 100's or 1000's (?) of visitors every single day...

  17. Hyenas are way more chill than many people realise. There is footage of a hyena sharing a kill with a leopard. A couple of different videos, too. The leopard was spitting & growling while the hyena just chowed down on the carcass 😆

  18. To anyone thinking this is the worst way for a prey animal, a zebra to die... Do NOT watch the migratory river crossing videos where the gnu and zebra are captured by huge crocodiles, their deaths are even worse than this! A recent video shows a poor zebra with its face torn off! One can see the cartilage exposed, its whole face degloved, the poor guy being pulled underwater whilst choking on blood/river-water, imagine the stuff that is not recorded!

  19. Plus being a pride animal, the lioness has numbers and they kill the whole litter (of leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, other lion prides, hunting dogs, etc. everything else lions kill) of said animals, in one short situation...

  23.  @bigplanner  I know what a fanboy is, I watch the UFC, I just can't stand the word and I have never, ever heard anyone suggest that a honey badger as 'untouchable', or indestructible etc. just that they're tough little mofos for their size.. much like this video shows, it was putting up a good fight against a leopard even if it hadn't a chance this time...

  24.  @costixd4990  ~ shameful, why would you call a tiger "trash"?? totally ignorant... if you must know, there are less than 2000 Indian and less than 2000 Chinese tigers left on the planet (in the wild) there were over 100,000 Indian tigers in the wild in the early 1900's yes! after heavy, heavy hunting all through the 1800's... there were 400,000 lions in Africa in the 1950's, 200,000 in the 1970's.....now drum- roll yay! there are around 25,000 African lions left in 2020...sorry but that chokes me up, makes me cry 😣

  25. Both animals are becoming extremely rare, some rhino species EXTINCT! I'm just so glad there was no real injuries here...both animals are just amazing, 2nd and 3rd biggest land mammals on Earth!

  26. oh come on, the hyena didn't go far, she is just as big and the leopard knows that hyenas don't want to just kill them for territory or food or whatever reason that, aka how lions do... spotted hyenas are far too chill, I've seen vids of them sharing a kill with a full grown leopard...of course the leopard was on one end (warthog, impala) wasting its enegy snarling/growling but the SH kept on scarfing down the meat 😆 3 different videos, I've seen them sharing...

  27. Why do you think they go? Most want to learn about these animals that they have seen in TV shows and/or books. Most folks who chose this type of holidays do so for a reason ie. they like wild animals, some of the group/family are so uninterested that they stay back at the lodge, not interested in seeing any nature, during dawn, day, dusk safaris...

I love vultures, of all species, they have such an important job, in the grand scheme of things 😊 totally essential, not sure why folks think that 'scavengers' are anything but important animals? The African lion is also a main scavenger...as seen by this video AND 1000's of others, lions STEAL over half their food...and that is fine!

  35. Spotted hyenas seem to always be willing to share, if it's safe, this hyena was sharing the impala carcass with the wild dog! The hyena got the 'best bit' of the prey too, awful to some but the unborn impala would have been so nutritious for her The spotted hyena is a fantastic African animal, l truly love these fascinating but widely misunderstood mammals

  36.  @donteto  That is a tragedy, they are extremely important for a healthy ecosystem, without predators the prey animal numbers explode with dire consequences to them! This happened when all brown bears, mountain lions and wolves were removed from Yellowstone national park, the prey animal numbers boomed without the predators to keep their numbers in check, overgrazing damages the vegetation. Reintroduction of the predator animals is slowly righting the problems

  37. I have witnessed this video before! I love all 4 species of surviving hyena, the spotted, the brown, the striped and the aardwolf, all formidable, carnivores, all incredible, intelligent animals...they have been maligned and mis-understood through-out modern history, these animals are fantastic species, the media and Disney have done them a massive dis-service, Disney should donate US$5 million to their care, minimum, anually! also Disney, who make a lot of US$ from the use of wild animals, please donate a few million (from your BILLIONS to help the Tasmanian folks trying to find a cure, for the Tasmanian Devil, facial cancer!) please for the Tassie Devils, yes they are actually black, they are sorta recovering, not really 😣 oh my goodness, you guys, who make a dime on another wild species 🤔 help them recover, from extinction... Edit ~ I asked for the help for the real life Tasmanian devils, because Disney have a character Taz Devil, they use this animal, for their own profits! so help them back! how hard can it be?

  39. at 6:24 the poor wildebeest will now die a slower death than if the croc had dragged it under, it is now exposed to a week or longer of horrific conditions, either lions or hyenas will now snack on him, possibly alive! The hippos were not 'saving' it, they generally dislike any disruptions or disturbance in their part of the river...

  41.  @mathieuyelle5170  You have obviously never seen bears, lions, wolves or hyenas etc. hunting. They have to eat so quickly before their hard earned catch is stolen, that they often eat the prey animal while it is still alive. A clan of hyenas can finish a whole gazelle in 5 minutes..

  47. They are considered big cats, just cos they don't roar doesn't mean they aren't... they also cannot retract their claws, like a dog.. Cheetahs are not small or even medium but 'big' sized cats, hence they are are a big cat species even if they chirp instead of roar...they can purr really loudly too 😋
