Hospitals, when delivering a miscarriage, throw them in the incinerator because they ARE biological waste, so are they going to be required to set them up for a funeral that the mother has to pay for? And, what will the state’s requirement be for a funeral for, say a 16- week fetus, which is what this woman’s was? Or a two-week (which she would probably not even be aware of)? Can they bury it in a cardboard box in their back yard, or at a local park or wooded area? Or are they going to require the mother to provide a coffin, which is expensive, as “punishment for the woman? That was the problem here: nobody tells women what to do with the dead fetus when she miscarriages. How can you be punishing a woman for breaking a law that, hitherto, wasn’t a law at all? Insanity now rules this country.

  5. I worked in a similar situation. I asked my boss, who had said he’s a Democrat, why he listened to him (Rush - and this was in his Sandra Fluke diatribe days), and he said he always wanted to know what the enemy was thinking. I said that five minutes of listening to that crap was enough to know where he was coming from, and after that it was just nauseating and stress-inducing. I did finally get him to agree to not play it when I was in that particular workroom.

  7. As a senior living on Social Security, this could actually be GREAT news. It will hit all the airwaves (maybe, maybe not) and social media, and this will very likely lose the Republicans the vote. They’ve already lost a huge portion of the women’s vote, the LGBTQ+ vote, probably a lot of the Black vote, the verteran’s vote, and I would think also the Jewish vote. Who else ? We need to make sure this news goes far and wide because if enough people know about it, it will be the death knell for the Republican Party. They’re just to stupid to realize it. WE have to get the word out!

He’s going to fill a lot of prisons with people who are simply exercising their constitutional right to peacefully assemble and protest.

  18. I don’t know how or why it would be easy for anyone to preach against it when every girl and woman deserves the healthcare she needs. And, just because it’s against SOME person’s religious beliefs, our government is not supposed to bow to anyone religious tenets, or make laws concerning them. That’s why it’s called Separation of Church and State. Some religions, like Judaism, actually believe that the living woman’s life takes precedence over an unborn baby (or fetus), because there is never any guarantee the baby will be born alive or healthy, wheareas she (the woman) already has a life. I believe abortion should be legal, safe, and as often as necessary.

  24. The Koch brothers helped to put Reagan in office, and he was their puppet because he had nearly zero understanding of how government works. I ultimately blame the Koch brothers for most of what is wrong in America today. One has finally died, although he has a son to carry in his legacy, and the other is still running things as always. They started out in the John Birch Society, then became mega-wealthy and have founded numerous organizations that we hear about that are pushing policies that negatively affect nearly every American: well, positively for the wealthy but negatively for the rest of us.

I also remember when a number of red state governors and politicians were saying that since (in the beginning of the pandemic) mostly elderly people were dying of Covid that elderly people should be doing some of the service jobs, because, basically old people don’t contribute anything and are just a drag on the economy, so they should be sent to the “front line” jobs. They were willing to “contribute” their own grandparents to go get sick and die, even though they’ve worked and supported the economy and the labor force their entire adult lives. That was the lowest, most disturbing, most disgusting, and inhuman thing I had ever heard up to that point.

I read that the issue of abortions was left to midwives in the earlier days in the U.S. (and nobody really had any problem with it because it was a “private” issue and pretty common), but when men decided to join together to create medical schools, which women weren’t allowed to attend, of course, and become doctors, they decided that they wanted the money a midwives would have earned for their services, and that’s when laws started being passed. Even then, it was only illegal for anyone other than a doctor to perform them. The other laws came even later than that.

Sadly, the later generations, seemingly, were taught NOTHING of that. Very frightening to me. That’s why education is so important, and why their side want to destroy it.

  49. Here’s something else to consider: I’ve seen at least two reports that said both maternal mortality and infant mortality rates are going up in red states since Roe v. Wade was overturned. That means that women ARE dying because they can’t get the healthcare they need. But we’ll probably never see the names or photos of the women who have died unless a husband or family member of one or, preferably, several of these women release them to the public. If you want to know why, Google the name of Savita Halappanaver (in Ireland) to see what the reaction of the Irish people was, and what the government did because of it. I think they don’t want that to happen here. (You’ll have to read between the lines in my comment because every time I write out what happened, my comment gets removed). So, if you know of a woman who died this way, talk to her husband or family member. I will promise to carry posters, and talk to everyone I know.
